what is the best lag free fighting game?.... NOT BEST FIGHTING GAME (we all know its smash) but of course brawls online SUCKS. is there even a fighting game with good online. im sure its hard to pull off lag free online experiance in a fighting game since fighting games apply on the dot actions and combos based on a players fast reflexes and what not.

so plz tell me....is there such a game? and if there is what system is it for?

just wanting to compare it to brawl and to see if any fighting games have a commpetitive chance to shine compard to other online genres

Um, you're not going to find a lag-free online experience. It's just not possible. And it's pretty hard to find a fighting game with good online. BlazBlue's is alright. I've heard mixed reviews on Third Strike and KoFXIII, it really depends on your location relative to your opponent. Touhou Hisotensoku is okay, but that's not everyone's cup of tea, and you have to manually connect to other players.

Or you could just play offline...?

Okay, well. Again, that's relative. Brawl has pretty much the worst online of all time, so pretty much any fighting game's online would be a step up from there.

lol true i guess.. and i do play offline.

i guess the real reason i ask is because of the upcoming ssb4 and if its online could have potential to have better online. so i was just wandering about other online fighting games since the WII-U might have similar specs to other systems.

speaking of that..does anyone know specs for WII-U..

i could look it up myself..or just simply ask on here :D

actually im just too lazy right now :/

I'd wait till E3 in June for this information.

Well, console specs (kind of) don't really determine how good online is. It's mostly up to the netcode that the developer creates.

Online connections usually are one of the two types, delay and rollback. Most fighters we see use a type input delay so the image is still smooth but the there is delay on the input. This is what we see in games like Brawl, Marvel 3, SF, etc.

Rollback is where the game records inputs and rolls back to hide lag. Since online connections are never fast and perfect, the game will be choppy at some parts in order to synch the players to the same time. This makes some characters "teleport". You'll see this happen on online shooters. Rollback is dependent on a console's specs, supposedly. Most companies don't choose to use this for their net code.

Rollback is better for the US since our internet is pretty crappy. Japanese developers will usually use the other type of netcode since their internet is structured better which is unfortunate for us.

So what is SSB4's online going to be like? I'm guessing not that good like most fighters. I highly doubt they'd do anything like a rollback netcode, so the connection will depend heavily on if you have a good upload speed.

As for which has the best online for console, either Marvel 2 or HD Remix, imo.

I wonder how mauve's rollcaster stacks against the current netcodes out there :V

I almost wish those games were good.

They're so pretty.
lots of this
I don't get why the 2nd game took out the freedom you had in story mode in the first one, and then adopted the Ultimate Ninja 4 approach
I'll probably get the game due to fandom anyway, or mooch off my naruto obsessed nephew

Anyone looking forward to Tekken Tag Tournament 2?

I'm still hoping they put Michelle and Kunimitsu in there

i'm looking forward to tekken tag 2, I like the fact that after a bound you can tag in a partner to extend combos
I wish michelle were back in this one, I know kunimitsu can't come back because in spite of how not cannon the story of the game is (Jun) kunimitsu is dead around this time(thanks bryan)
speaking of michelle, i'm hoping I can customize jaycee into being julia or something like that, not a fan of her randomly being a secret luchadore(sp?) but I do like being able to grab people out of the air now :awesome:

BB has the best netcode, still not that great though unfortunately.

Maybe I would think differently if I had good internet though.

Here's an hour and a half of Skullgirls. I don't really know what all to expect from it, I just started watching it, but apparently it's mostly just messing around in training mode with some matches near the end.

It's easy to see how much love went into this game. It may not be the perfect game for me, but it's hard to not be excited for something so polished.

I really want to see this game do well.

I keep throwing money at it, and nothing's happening.

I should try throwing tacos.

Since not everyone visits the Blazblue thread, I'll post this here.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core+ is getting...
Something.
Probably Arcade.

Oh, and Capcom applied for a new trademark for Darkstalkers, but that could mean anything. Too early to get your hopes up and you might not want the current Capcom to make a new Darkstalkers anyways. :/

I wouldn't even have posted this normally, but the timing was good. :/
