Post your favorite lyrics, yo. I'll go first, yes? Don't be afraid to say why you have an affinity for the lyric.
"Karla the Stripper/straight from L.A./you seem cool for a naked chick in a booth/lets be pals some day/(in other words)/put some cloths on and call me" -Presidents of the United States of America
"The devil she must be a dentist/with tooth jawbreaker eyes/red rope hair/gum drop lips/cotton candy thighs" -Presidents, also
--I like this quote 'cause it reminds me all the things that I love usually go hand in hand with the things I suffer through. Like women.
"I shouted 'who killed the Kennedey's'/ when after all, it was you and me"- from "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones
--I like this bit b/c I think its clever to suggest that the undue celebrity status given to political figures makes them the target of what we would decry as a tragedy. Who would bother assasignating a Kennedy if being a Kennedy meant nothing more than being a lawyer?
"When the man comes on and tells me how white my shirts can be/well he can't be a man 'cause he doesn't smoke/ the same cigarettes as me"- from "Satisfaction" by the Stones
-Embodies my disdain for self-rigteous anti-smokers
"linger on her pale blue eyes"- from "Pale Blue Eyes" by the Velvet Underground
--Reminds me of what it feels like to be in love, and have the oppertunity to notice all the nuances of the person you love. Its a really chilled out song besides.
"Crawling in my skin/these words they will not yield"- by Linkin Park
--Naw, I'm just ****ing with you. I hate Linkin Park.
"I don't mind you coming here/ and wasting all my time/ cause when you're standing oh so near/ I kinda lose my mind [yeah]"- from "I don't mind you coming here" by the Cars
--Makes me think of how much I love playing the game, and the process of winning a girl over. Long live the hunt. Also reminds me that occasionaly the person your looking for is already there, which is a good thing to think about on occasion.
"Watched the ripples change in size/but never leave the stream of warm impermenance"- from "Changes" by David Bowie
--I like this quote because sometimes if feels that my life is just a pool of random events, and I rather thrive on that dischord.
"Life takes a cigarette/and puts it to your mouth"
"You go to the cafe'/but you don't eat when you've lived to long"
"Its so natural, religiously unkind/ oh no love, you're not alone"
-these are from "Rock and Roll Suicide" by David Bowie
--Sometimes life does take a cigarette and put it to your mouth.
--Sometimes you feel inhuman, somehow beyond the perfunctory demands of biological survival
-"Religiously unkind"? What a cool ****ing concept. When Bowie says that you're not alone, you can't help but believe him.
"Look at that sky/Life's begun/when the days are warm and the nights are young"-From "Golden Years" by Bowie
--Reminds me that I'm young, and my nights are just beginning. Gives me a sense of invincibility and general strength. Makes me want to dance and get laid, too.
"Though I've crossed 100,000 miles/I'm feeling very still"-From "Space Oddity" by Bowie
--What? Have you ever felt the subjectivity of your own life? Sometimes centering your mental self is the only stationary aspect of your life.
-------I'll back off the Bowie quotes now--------
"The wine and the song, like the seasons, have all gone."
"Goodbye Papa its hard to die/when all the birds are singing in the sky"
-Cat Stevens sings "Seasons in the Sun"
--This is my favorite suicide song. These quotes give me the feeling that each person has a season in which to thrive, but eventually that will be over. Things don't neccesarily have to suck for the season to be over, but the important things in ones life have become unobtainable. ****, this makes me think that its hard to commit suicide when there's so much beauty in the world, even though its fleeting and intangible.
"When all that you've held sacred/falls down and does not mend/ just remember/that death is not the end"-from "Death is not the End" by Bob Dlyan
--This is my favorite anti-suicide song. Its comforting to think that you can be wrong your entire life, but it doesn't make much of a difference, because where the tree of life is growing is from where the spirit never dies. Basically, in the final end, things will work out. That's a very comforting thought.
"The man in me will hide sometimes/to keep from being seen/but that's just 'cause he doesn't want/to turn into some machine" -from "The Man in Me" by Bob Dylan
--Its nice to think that I'm not the only person who feels mantaining one's individuality and personal integrity is more important than pleasing others. I'm not gunna become some ****ed machine. Or a **** dirty ape, for that matter.
"Because life's a pretty pretty woman/ who want's to get you down"- from Marilyn Manson's "Dopeshow"
-Its... ah... fun to personify life as a character who wants to use you, and who you can use.
"He could walk down your street/and girls could not resist his stare/Pablo Picasso never got called an *******/not in New York"
-from "Pablo Picasso" by I can't remember who.
--I LOVE smiling at girls I don't know and winning a smile back. Its good times, yo. Pablo Picasso never got called an *******, not in his town, not in New York. What a hardass, yo.
"She tied you to the kitchen chair/she broke your thrown and she cut your hair/ and from your lips she drew the hallelujah"-from Leonhard Cohen's "Hallelujah"
-****. Through creul seduction, this woman gets you tied to the kitchen chair, at which point she takes your pride and breaks your spirit. Having done that, she entices praise of her works from your very own lips. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT trust the female gender. They'll do this to you, they really will. Its interesting to think of god as the woman, though. You humble yourself in all aspects before god, and god then requests praise. Wierd wild stuff.
"I want a girl with shoes that cut/ and eyes that burn like cigarettes"
"I want a girl with fingernails that shine like justice/ who uses a machete to cut through red tape"
-"Short Skirt/Long Jacket" by Cake
--I really want that girl. Her fingernails shine like justice, dude, holy crap.
"The piano has been drinking" from "The Piano has been Drinking" by Tom Waits
--Alcoholic Piano. Oh, and the phone is out of cigarettes.

That's all for now, folks, I can't think of any more at the moment. Peace love and lollipops.
<Btw, if you're totally welcome to give second opinion(s) on the aforementioned quotes>
