I still think Peach has better advantages in both scenarios. A properly spaced Dash attack also has an annoying retraction hitbox that can interrupt a CC Down Smash attempt.
Then I guess the best option is to WD back and attempt to punish, either w/ your own dash attack or grab. Shielding it may not be such a bad idea either, especially if they mispace it...

I always just shield grab it. If I see it coming then I can light shield and then WDOOS to punish them with a Down Smash after the push back.

I was just wondering, in any situation where Samus could use dsmash, like the WD oos>dsmash that Red Sparrow talks about above, couldn't Samus also use dtilt>uair or whatever combos from dtilt for more damage?
You sometimes can even get a Down Smash > Charge Shot if they DI improperly at low-mid percents.

It depends on Peach's percentage if you can juggle her with Down Tilt and also if she's already CCin' or DIing in anticipation for your counter.

Not to mention the risk of getting the "Nairplane" upon you aerial advance.

That's another problem. When can and can't Peach use nair to interrupt Samus's combos?
That's a really good question. It's rather ambiguous unless you're used to the matchup. Generally any percentage below 50% and above 80% you run the risk of being intercepted by a "SURPRISE!" Nair.

Sometimes I just go the safe route and feint an attack then regrab or Charge Shot. Peach is matchup where you can only really stand a chance if you have a stock lead or can really bait out the Peach to fall into your traps. Not being able to vertically kill this female dog makes her the bane of my existence.

Samus requires too much work to win with. I might evolve into a Sheik main soon.
That's what I said about a year ago as well. I concur but I've been to lackadasical learning the intricacies of Sheik. :embarrass:

Sheik vs Falcon is one of the reasons why I want her as an alternate. Its amazing how brain dead easy some matchups become with Sheik, just mindgames and reactions.

I feel the same way :( I have a different person every week. Someone should start a rehab facility for people with this problem. Hello, I'm McNinja and I'm addicted to cheating on my main.

If I have long periods of friendlies or tournament play, I sometimes have to take a "Samus break" for a game or two and play some other character(s) that I don't mind playing...

I didn't know needing a "character break" was a common thing haha. I can play for a while using Sheik, but then I have to take a break and switch to Samus or Ganon

Of course in tournament I only use Samus. However in friendlies, there isn't a character I don't try to use. Except maybe Yoshi. And Marth...

I bet you guys win more often and are less frustrated even if Samus is just a booty call to you.
Believe it or not, I actually perform better with Samus than with Sheik.....most of the time. :p

Lol i see u there bubba trying to learn how to fight me. U will never win hahahahahaha

If you paid attention to all my posts on both the Sheik and Samus boards, you'd see that I already asked for advice on how to fight Spacies, Sheik, and the Marios. :embarrass: Peach just happens to be another MU I'm getting advice on. She's not even first on my priority list... :glare:

Its not like i follow every post u make

And yes it was almost clever hiding the fact u wanted to ask for help against my peach by asking for help vs other characters first, but we all know u just wanted to ask how to beat me but it will never happen ha haha hahaha (trying to do mandark's laugh from dexter's lab)

At this point, it doesn't really have much to do with our chars anymore. It's more of a personal MU than anything, meaning that the info derived for fighting Peach would probably benefit me more against other Peaches than against you. :p Besides, I might just decide to go Link against you now that I know that he's actually a Peach CP. ;P

A friend of mine noted that most Samuses can do these combos easily, but I think the difference between most of us and the really good Samuses is the judgement and decision-making skills they display during their regular play. That's something you can't really show in just a combo video...

Totally.

Also something you don't see is how consistent/routine most combos are. Like Up throw, dair techchase duck hits 95% of the time. I miss that stuff way too much.

I've come to realize that the best Samus players keep a clear mind and react well.

On top of consistency, a lot of us simply fall into patterns of impulse and end up doing things that are unsafe for no good reason.

Duck, I think, is the best example of a Samus who knows almost exactly what he wants to do at any given moment. I think his style is the most elegant, like a Samus version of Drephen. He has a very good flowchart. I really wish I had the kind of structure he has.

I think Plup makes the best decisions on the fly. Whenever I watch, I'm always impressed with the option choice and decision speed. I just wish I could make the same kind of good decisions.

Spaceballs is such a pornstar. A beautiful, amazing pornstar. If only I could technical like he does...
