East Coast Regional Circuit Official Thread

I just want to give a quick thank you to everyone who helped out with the circuit in 2008
It was not an easy road, but i think we have established a decent idea of how to do this, and now we just need to build on it.
We are thoroughly pleased by the results on the live stream, and we will be making that a standard, but ill be honest i want to make it more strict.
We had random people walking up and grabbing the mic and that will not be happening, but i have to say i was thoroughly pleased by slik and diem personally
and others i actually received complaints on, so we are going to avoid that.
player interviews, and more will also become standards
Also a huge shout out to kirby san aka hayato for providing us and designing our website
To moondoggie for creating our logo
all the To's who took on the events
and blackmage for helping me organize all of it
ECRC 2K9 is right around the corner.

I don't think it should be in question, i think a Travis tourney should be guarenteed on the circuit, and one of the C3's. IMO in MD/VA, there is no better TO than Chinesahh, although Plairnkk is a close second.
But that's just me talking.

Yeah um MD/VA already had literally every circuit but one of them. That was extremely gay, especially when there were a LOT of good NY/PA/NJ things to choose from.

Yeah that seems fair. I will probably end up going to MD/VA at least, and maybe NJ if i can get over there. PA is going to be philly i guess. I'll see what I can do.

Couldn't Canada be given a shot at hosting an ECRC event? Our turnouts are always amazing and I have a realllllly solid venue which is minutes from Percons house, Lawlb0ts house, and my own house. Housing wouldn't be an issue.

Id like to consider canada but at this point its going to still be considered unlikely
Canada is really far from a large portion of the EC , and other than that ALOT of americans dont have passports

Def. I think this wont be every month but 2-3 months to get huge turnouts and a good rep.

I was just curious if this is *strictly* east coast. Technically Ohio is considered Midwest, just wondering if NE Ohio could host a tournament for the regionals.

Uh, I think Canada should be able to hold a Circuit tourney REGARDLESS of whether or not most of us can make it there.
A) CAT4 still got mad hype, even though many couldn't make it.
B) Some of Canada is part of the EC
C) It will allow Canada to get circuit points without coming to every American tourney, so Ally doesn't have to play Ammy bracket again, lulz.
Also, I would REALLY like to be an announcer at an event or a few. Not only do I KNOW what I'm talking about, but I like to think I'm a lively person. I'll contact you about this later Solid Jake.

Not to be a jerk: But 5-8 people driving to us, or 50-70 driving to them. MD/va is already driving 6-7 hours for some ****.

Some staff updates on www.ECRC2K.com, a few individuals with strong points have come aboard to help further the development of the East Coast Regional Circuit.
We have to improve as much as possible in every aspect over the next year, and to appear as a professional organization rather than a group of college students running tournaments. Whether that is what we are or not, I have many hopes and goals for this circuit.
We still have plenty of room for help in many fields such as. . .
*Advertisement
*Media (Photo, video, interviews, articles)
*Various editors and forum admins (access will be very strict SWF reputation / experience desired)
And lastly we are looking for TO's in regions to put on the event
Clash of the Titans IV (PA) will be our first event, so PA is taken
We already have our eyes on a NY tournament for Event #2
But that means we need events in the following locations
*New Jersey
*Maryland
*Virginia
*Connecticut / Massachusetts (Likely to be Mage run)

The reason the circuit was started was to encourage OOS attendance because Brawl had an extremely slow start, as we advance we do intend to expand as much as possible. It took MLG Several years to reach canada, and we are a non for profit small group of kids, and this year id like to make every event to personally help run and broadcast (we cant afford to go too far quite yet) Things like melee are being considered, and down the road who knows what will happen. We may become affiliated with other gaming websites to continue expanding , but as of right now we are strictly brawl.
We are welcome to all feedback negative and positive and I hope to see you at the events this season!

Well, if U need help with traveling plans and all for people from the FL, GA and AL I can help U find info so U guys could make posts. Also, I could come up with proposal letters for company's (Like Best Buy, Coco-cola and etc...)
IT's understandable that the circuit is the way that it is... Even though it can't be in FL it is THE EAST COAST CIRCUIT. So it doesn't make sense for it to be down here...

As the circuit grows i want to keep expanding into other regions... next year my work / job life should be alot different / better for this type of thing
but tbh this time around i want to be able to attend every event to be present , help out, etc.
and currently if i spread too far and too many events, it just wouldnt be possible.
If somehow somebody put together a tourney with an amazing venue, we could possibly make exceptions, but its a rough choice.
Also, we are currently working on sponsors , have a few in mind, but its something that takes time
