Well, I'd have to talk with the rest of the staff before answering that, but the final answer would likely be no.
I can already tell you and everyone here my answer is no. We'll likely know the roster within the next couple of months, and any substantial leaks that occur can be covered in existing threads.

That video was the best thing I've ever seen.

Reggie Fils-A-Mech's body is 95.73% ready!!

The hype from April is getting worse. From all the new Mario Kart 8 coverage to the SSB Direct, to this confirming Smash playable and other Nintendo titles... I can't take it anymore.

Best Buy is so close... I'm going to get mine!

Darn, I think, I'll have to go to US just to play smash at Best Buy. I hope they release the demo in the e-shop.

No, I'm going off of last year, when they had none in Wisconsin, and the closest was in Schaumburg, Illinois.
I don't really remember, but I thought they had something set up at Sourthridge in Greendale for the event? I was living in Minnesota last summer, but I thought that either the Best Buy in/near Southridge was doing it based on something a friend said.

Find a fighting game on the Wii U. Practice with all the control schemes.

I did this myself before the Brawl release at GameStop. I did mediocre, but it helped me get the feel of it. I used Mortal Kombat: Armageddon and its Wiimote and Nunchucku controls to do so.

Seriously though, this is going to be fanservice at its best.
I expect the most anticipated characters for this game (both veteran and newcomers) to be announced through this tournament.

E3 2013 was a waste of time on my end, but I guess part of the problem was that I told my parents about it too late.

But really, Nintendo should've realized by now that not everyone has the luxury of going to their chosen Best Buy locations.

Asking the mods in this thread, before making a new one.

Should we have a new thread for "meeting up" - Sort of, thread that organizes a list of people going to E3, going to Best Buy @ location 1, going to Best Buy @ location 2. That way we can meet up and even make our own event I guess.

Also I know its still early but I'll ask anyways, when the event (E3) starts should we make a "feedback" thread ourselves or is one going to be made by the mods? I already have my E3 official ticket, so, if Nintendo handles Best Buy the same way they did last year that means I'll probably play the game 2 or 3 days before the Best Buy events and I would very much like to offer feedback as soon as I do.

Watched the video, wow that the Fils a Mech was hilarious.

Also, do you guys think any veterans and newcomers will be revealed in this tournament?

Better than having nothing.

We'll worry about that closer to E3.

I'm more looking for practicing the mechanics of the game. I usually don't have problems switching controllers, but i'm not sure how i should take advantage of known mechanics when i haven't been hands on with them yet.

Regarding speed. Brawl's too slow, pm's too fast, and Brawl minus is too op

Lots better than nothing. I personally had a really fun time playing 3d world, and ended up getting a year of luigi coin for getting the most points. If anything like that happens again with sm4sh, i'll be happy.

Ah. Well, I have no idea what controller will be used. Just find out which one the Best Buy'll use. You can't completely practice the mechanics themselves, just get used to the controller. At best. The game'll be different from Melee/Brawl/64, so...

Still, last year was a huge disappointment. Best Buy will need to do some serious renovations, because having only one Wii U system will NOT be tolerated for Smash-Fest.
Oh nooo, Smashers will have to show restraint, have patience, and share with others?

How terrible.

I guess Nintendo should just nix the whole event.

Well, lets be real, this is awesome even if there are some unknown details. I think Nintendo is making all the right moves right now to please just about everyone, with in-game mechanics to characters and now a NINTENDO HOSETED TOURNAMENT. (how crazy does that sound?) And on top of that we have a chance to go to a Best buy to play a demo during E3?! I am looking forward to trying out the demo and just smash in-general. #HYPE #FREESMASH

16 players... That means 15 matches at least. Total: 30 characters. We're at 29. The perfect way for introducing a new one would be to have the final match featuring a newcomer or a returning veteran (supposing they don't use always the same character).

But look at the riches! Look at what we could get!
There so much that could come from this. Our first hands on experience with Smash 4. It's been so long. Since we could say all this. But now we'll have that chance!
We can finally see the newcomers in action! We can see our old mains made new. While picking up new mains! The stages, the music, the gameplay, the multitudes of two hour long videos GameXplain will have! And it'll be glorious! Don't forget our first hand at the buffs. And many of the techniques we'll see! Heck, we could find a couple new ones ourselves.
The hype will be huge! And then the anticipation for Smash 3DS and later Smash Wii U. We have a great year ahead of us!
I'd say the wait is worth it! Wouldn't you?

If they don't do the following, I will explode:

The final match of the tournament has ended. The winner is being showered with praise. They get congratulated by Sakurai (assuming he's there), for toughing it out to the very end, and are commended for their excellent skills.

Suddenly, a siren goes off. A message appears on the audience's viewing screen. It reads "Warning! Challenger Approaching!".

Then, everything goes quiet. Ominous clapping is heard in the distance. Someone begins to speak:

"Well done, talented Smash Brother. Your skills are exceptional. They may even rival those of Sakurai-san himself.
But, your fight is not over yet. You have one final challenge you must face, and that is to defeat the greatest Smash player of them all.
I'm about kickin' ass, takin' names - and I hope, for your sake: That your body, is READY!"

The audience viewer screen announces: "Reggie-Fils-A-Mech's Body is Ready to Take Names!"

Reggie Fils-Aime takes the stage. He selects the new "Reggie-Fils-A-Mech" icon on the character select screen. He offers a handshake to the tournament champion.

"May the best man win."
