Fire Emblem: 13 games with under 5 million total sales between them.
Star Fox: 6 games with 11.5 million total sales between them.

Incomparable.

How many times to we have to go over that sales shouldn't matter? It should be the fact that they can add something different to the game. Plus they were both supposed to have three characters in Brawl, so I think they are comparable.

Oh, and also, just in case some don't know, the Digital Event will be around an hour long. Much better than last year's 30-35 minutes. ^^

Because the game is a celebration of Nintendo's history. Therefore the more successful franchises are automatically more important than the semi-successful ones.
Sales are the best way to determine popularity.

If a franchise is very big and successful, Sakurai may give it more characters. If the franchise is long since 'dead', Sakurai may give it characters. If there's a new game in need of promotion, Sakurai may give it characters. If it's very important to Nintendo's history (ROB), Sakurai may include it. If Sakurai simply sees potential to a character being unique in moveset and appearance, Sakurai may include them. There are a LOT of reasons for Sakurai to pick characters, whenever it's successful, long-since dead, etc etc, and the argument about what franchises "should/deserves" more characters is really very silly. There aren't a single, good answer. there are a lot of things going on. There is nothing wrong with StarFox having even four characters, just as there are reasons Fire Emblem doesn't have more than two so far. Etc etc.
Now, let's stop this discussion, as this is a E3 Speculation Thread. ^^

All Paper Mario games are good. Different doesn't mean bad. Thats the curse of Nintendo. They make a game different in some way and everyone hates it because they want more of the same (Paper Mario Sticker Star, Other M. Two games I love btw). They make a sequel to a game thats similar to the last one and everyone hates it and wants it to be different.(NSMB and to a lesser extent 3d Marios) I'd rather a game/sequel be original than the same thing we always get.

I hope we get something fresh and original like Other M announced at E3

Im not saying they are bad but they arent great like Paper Mario 1 and 2. We need a true paper mario game.

Haha, Sorry! Melee Intro really took me awhile since I had to split trailer into two different saves and deleted unnecessary frames and gameplay parts in order to make it small and smooth as possible but it was tough job for me. I would wage that it took me about a hour or so.

I actually have a friend who was able to watch E3 trailers before they were revealed to the general public, since he had a friend who worked at E3.

I'm not saying that this guy is legit or not, but I'm pretty sure that the trailers have been seen by workers of E3 and possibly even their friends. Hopefully everyone can keep their mouth shut until E3.

@ Venus of the Desert Bloom Doesn't seem like it's said anywhere, and given all previous directs, chances are we'd find out the order as it happens. Logically it would either start it or end it though. If you want one humble opinion, go to the page it'll happen, sleep, then watch it when you wake up before work and don't check any social media/this site until after you sit through it. No sense killing yourself at work for something you can easily watch later after all mate.

So the event doesn't actually start until the 10th but the 9th has press conferences from Microsoft and Sony. I was counting this as apart of E3 as day 1.

They aren't random pokemon. They're starters from the most popular pokemon games ever, and have been constantly relevant in nearly every generation. Even the newest one.

They're among the most iconic Pokemon ever. Bronzor is a random Pokemon. Squirtle and Ivysaur aren't.

Apparently, the Squirtle and Bulbasaur families being two of the three iconic Kanto starters that are selectable in X and Y, along with Blastoise and Venosaur having a Mega Evolution makes them "random Pokemon"
