The bonus for buying the Age of Calamity season pass is the same as the bonus for Fighter Pass 2 🤔

Probably means nothing.
Nah, we're definitely getting Steve as a bonus fighter in Age of Calamity now.

If Master Chief suffers from regional factor...
I think it's just the main argument against him, and being that suggesting him used to be comparable to ****posting and memeing, you're going to see a lot more resistance than is typical.

It's kind of a bummer. I mean, as far as an FPS rep would go, I really don't think you have many better choices. Doomguy would be cool, sure, as he's the OG space marine, but dumbing down the RIP AND TEAR aspect of the character to fit him into smash would be a disservice to him. Same reason why I don't see a Mortal Kombat rep; I don't think sakurai would want to do that. Jonesy would make me cringe. Not because "blah blah kids bad fortnite bad blah blah" but because epic games, as a whole, has pulled some really lame stunts, and I'd rather Nintendo not get all buddy buddy with a company that pretty much openly prioritizes money over all. Apex hasn't been established well enough in my eyes. I don't feel there would be much wow factor in a CoD rep. Who would you even pick? Would there be anything to the character beyond "regular human with regular guns?"

Maaaaybe an Overwatch/Team Fortress rep? He'd certainly have his fair share to choose from, lots of creative opportunities there. Borderlands kind of feels that way to me too.

I just think Chief would really bring it home. There is an entire generation of people who grew up on two major game series: Smash Bros and Halo. Everything else was filler. There is not one single kind of person who was not on board to play some smash and/or halo. Played with the nerds, played with the jocks, played with the foreign kids, played with the kids who don't even really care much for games in general. And I know I'm far from unique in that experience, because almost everyone I meet through online gaming (and to be honest, that's almost entirely Xbox-sided) tells me they grew up the same way (maybe not as extremely as my close circle did, but all the same.)

I know that not all smash fans are halo fans, and I respect that. But I will tell you that a vast majority of halo fans are smash fans. No one should sleep on Chief. I won't be crushed if he doesn't make it, but I do firmly believe it would be a very huge miss financially for Nintendo. I believe the man would sell not just dlc, or games, but entire consoles.

Hoo boy there's a lot to unpack

Doom wasn't about over the top violence until 2016 and as seen with Snake's neck snap and Ridley's Skewer and reveal trailer, Smash can get away with a lot of violence with the Slayer himself being pretty damn cartoony.

MK can and has been toned down to fit guidelines in the past many times which makes it so weird when MK's lack of presence in Japan is a much better argument against the series.

Nintendo is also a money grubbing company, but with Epic specifically this becomes hilarious as we know for a fact Epic wanted Samus in Fortnite, had some amazing looking artwork ready for promotional materials and a silhouette of the Power Suit can be seen in some comic. While that could be seen as one sided on Epic's part, the Epic vs Apple lawsuit shows that Nintendo only shot down Samus in Fortnite by asking even more money for the deal last minute, which was after Epic had already sweetened the deal by making it so that unlike Kratos and Master Chief, you wouldn't be able to see a player's Samus skin if you weren't playing on the Switch

Not that many, though. You have to remember that SSBU is already the best selling fighting game of all time, and Steviroth was enough to get 90% of everyone still interested in the game on board. Nintendo would know when diminishing returns would occur.

Smash has characters that represent consoles from Nintendo's competition (both past and present): The SEGA consoles are repped by its mascot Sonic, the Neo Geo is repped by Terry, Microsoft is repped by Banjo and Steve (with Chief, the mascot of XBox, seeming likely), Playstation's mascot Crash seeming likely (though you could also argue that it's already repped by Cloud's inclusion), and Hudson Soft, the creator of the Turbografx-16, is repped by Bomberman as Assist Trophy and is owned by Konami, who has Snake and Simon in the roster. The competitor consoles not repped are Atari systems. What Atari-owned characters would be a great pick?

Skull Kid's AT fate was a heartbreaker. Honestly, so was Incineroar's reveal. I adore Decidueye and it seemed like such a lock...

If I want to be painfully honest with myself, Sephiroth's announcement was as disappointing as it was exciting for me. Yes, it was incredible and super shocking that he got in, but his inclusion left a trail of bodies in its wake. Geno, Crono, 2B, Sora, Lara Croft, and the most painful deconfirmation, any chance of Neku or any playable TWEWY rep. He even really crushed the chances of any other third-party villains, like one of my most wanteds, Robotnik/Eggman.

So much dispair, indeed...

But the one deconfirmation that stung the most so far?
I'd say Sora still has a chance, since he's owned by Disney..and we don't know for sure yet if 3rd Party companies can't double down.

You're a Doctor

Everyone's got animal ears

A good chunk of them have a disease that gives them superpowers

You play Tower Defense as the main game mode

And said disease is effectively super-cancer, since it's killing them at the cost of giving them their power, and it's contagious

You're kinda a ****ty doctor

Tbf, there can still be argument to be made here. Doom is rated Z by CERO in Japan. None of those M-rated series in Smash got Z rating iirc. I'm just saying this is worth looking into, not solid roadblock.

If nothing else, check out some of the music. There's a joke in the community that the game's just a front for a record label.

In ARMS everyone is protagonists, I like Min Min but Spring Man is the mascot of the game and I hope that in the next game of the Super Smash Bros. series. to come as a newcomer. I say next because in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate came as an Assist Trophy. Since Spring Man is the mascot of ARMS, it is worth coming as a newcomer to the next game in the Super Smash Bros. series.

I doubt that. Again, they got away with neck snaps, impalement and crushed skulls, remove the gore and suddenly Doomslayer's actions are significantly less violent than what I've already mentioned, especially as a lot of glory kills animations are punches, kicks or stabs

It depends on how much Nintendo wants to associate with Doom. Just allowing on Switch and making path to Smash are two different things. It's not about Doom's violent nature. It's more on Nintendo's stance. There have been examples here and there that kinda put doubt on people's mind. I'm just suggesting other angles other people imply.

Those other people are dumb as hell as this mindset does not exist, otherwise, Nintendo wouldn't want to associate themselves with porn (they gladly did to promote Bayo 2) or outright ban Z rated games, which they didn't. The argument reeks of desperation of detractors who were proven the **** wrong lmao

I find it sad that whoever was behind that site apparently made a second Wiki to whine about characters who got into Smash just because they felt that those characters shouldn't be included.

Who cares about a site made exclusively to **** on people's favourites? I certainly don't and fail to see why it matters, whoever's behind it will never cave as if you're stupid enough to make a site about how people are idiots for wanting different chsracters than you, you're not gonna change your mind

Huh. Based on the name I kinda assumed it was a psychological horror game based on the name and if anything you'd be like a psychologist or something

The guy or multiple guys running the site were full of double standard.
They said the same points against Steve didn't work on the similar characters that were already in Smash because they were first party. Seriously, how does being first party shield from factors like being avatar character? Or in case of Ridley, being unpopular in Japan? I laughed so hard after Steve got in. Then, they took down Steve page there.

By confronting them you're giving them the attention they clearly didn't get as a kid, it's either total bait or a miserable existence who shouldn't be acknowledged

I was not expecting to see my friend Mulambo show up in a Smashboards thread lmao.
To stay a bit more on topic, as a Halo fan, I'm really happy to see Chief show up more and more in discussions like this as a legitimate possibility considering he was a joke of a character pick for so long.
