Cool additions. Great flashy movesets. All am worried about is that Mythra is the supposed "extra 6th character" of this Fighter Pass.

They are listed as pack 9 on the dlc site, so no need to worry about that

Meh...Pyra/Mythra is gonna be this Season's Byleth for me(though, not nearly as bad since this is only the 2nd XB character).

I think Mario Golf was the only NEW thing I was excited about.

Now that Skyward Sword is going to have non-motion controls, I may actually play it.

Hopefully, that Ninja Gaiden collection forshadows something for Smash!

- Not a huge Xenoblade fan, but I'm glad fans of the series finally get another character. I myself would have liked Elma cause I like her design, but another Stance change character is cool, I'm guessing Rex was gutted out the moveset cause it would have been more annoying to have them both out. Don't know for sure. It'll be interesting to see why the devs went in that direction.

• Splatoon fans are eating.
• So are Monster Hunter fans. Can I play as that Strider looking guy, or dress like him?
• Ninja Gaiden getting a collection is pretty cool. I want more and more series to get re-releases like this since finding used copies can be a ***** and a half.
• Stubbs the Zombie of all games getting a re-release is the DANK **** I like to see.
• No More Heroes 3 looks cool.
• Mario Golf looks cool, started out a little basic, but the crazy race mode and Wario's drip is nice. Also Daisy's getting that tan back.
• Too many JRPGs I don't care about. Give a brother some MMBN content.
• Many people channeled their inner Michael Jordan and collectively said "...**** Them Kids!" When the DC Super Girls thingajig popped up.
• Once again, I am reminded of the mixed reactions to Skyward Sword, it'll never not be funny.

Okay but I sure hope this throws the whole frame of “Sakurai is unpredictable exclusively and speculation is useless” in the trash because hey guess what one of those characters “we talk too much about“ got in! Lately it felt like some people were just so adverse to speculation that they thought that being mentioned often was an automatic deconfirmation. Glad to see that frame laid to rest slightly

More Xenoblade 2 love is ALWAYS a good thing in my book! ARMS got in and Xenoblade 2 managed to join in after all.

Hopefully they'll rope in some Xenoblade X music in there too, particularly Uncontrollable.

I was NOT expecting another Pokemon Trainer type "two in one" fighter. So there's a surprise.

I thought that solo Pyra or Mythra without Rex was a really dumb idea.

Still really dumb in my opinion. The relationship between drivers and Blades was a big plot point for the game, and it and the party synergies are where all the mechanics come from.

Pyra and Mythra ignore all of that.

I've never played a Xeno game, so I have no idea who they are, or what the deal is with there being 2 characters in one.

I'm guessing it's similar to Zelda/Sheik?

I had a feeling it would be a JRPG character. I wouldn't be surprised if the last 2 characters are from JRPG's as well tbh.

It's not KOS-MOS, but I'm quite happy that Monolith Soft got an additional fighter (technically 2).

For the fighter pack, I hope that they finally fix the Xenoblade 2 songs that are already in Smash, and include some Future Connected and Torna tracks. Also praying for Elma, KOS-MOS, and the Zekenator to get Mii costumes.

Man I suck at predicting things

I imagine the Major reason Rex was very popular as request, was because he would come with Pyra and/or Mythera, so just doing the latter two seems to confirm that statement, along with the added bonus of Nia being the base game costume, while Rex's costume was held at $25 ransom

I do hope Rex's costume is able to be purchasable seperatly now when Pyra and Mythera come out, And the Blades themselves seem to have a cool moveset of course. I do think their inclusion does kill some of the leaks and rumors, but it also gives Credence to some theories that I had come with. Interested in their showcases for full moveset showcase and Mii Costumes

The one thing that might have me thinking the next fighter could be a little more low key compared to what came before is that coming in a Direct filled with fairly significant news would probably lessen any potential cooler response they might hypothetically get (not wholly unlike what Terry was in September 2019 was and in hindsight the context Byleth would have been better off in).

This didn't feel too far off in hindsight. Granted there's loads of Nintendo & Xenoblade fans thrilled at the pick, but doing this kind of reveal in a Direct with lots of other news was a solid call as I think doing the lone mystery showcase might have engendered some backlash towards it.

So with the inclusion of Pythra (Pyra & Mythra) and th obvious shade that they did to Rex does that mean this is a sign that mii costume yet again being passed off, since we know that Sakurai and Nintendo really wanted to include a Xeno character from the start and literally considering Rex first?

If you look closely you can see that Pyra & Mythra share animations for their A moves. I guess they could've had Rex play a bigger part, but his body shape isn't close enough to the blades'.

Min Min still made some sense but this feels like a "ha gotcha!" for the sake of it

I'll admit that I woulda been whelmed at a Xenoblade 2 character anyway, but this really has me scratching my head, man. Maybe it'll grow on me, maybe sleepin' over it will help, I dunno. The Direct in general gets the Satisfying (TM) badge from me btw

Also.....the Gru moveset lays dormant for another day.

So do Pyra/Mythra can switch on the fly, but did they show any way they were going to balance it? Min Min can swap ARMS on the fly, but gave up Neutral and Side specials to make it work, so I'm wondering if they're going to have a similar drawback or if they're just going to be, "old Zelda/Sheik but overpowered."

With this, I think we can COMFORTABLY say goodbye once and for all to "The 40 Character List". No Pyra/Mythra. It had Rex, it had Lora (Torna) but absolutely no Pyra/Mythra.

They've got a dank moveset so far, so I'm curious as to how I'll have to fight them with Good ol' Mega Man.

I'm pretty sure its like Final Fantasy for the most part, in that each sequel is its own thing. Though there's references to the other games too, or something like that. Still, you do you my dude.
