Hi everyone. Just a possible heads up for this thread:

Note: this tweet is from Cassandra Lee Morris who voices characters such as Morgana and Sothis.

A popular voice actor seems to have passed away. The name of the person has not been given yet so that their family may have privacy, however just about every big voice actor imaginable is tweeting their own tributes to this person right now. I feel there is a really good chance it is someone that we all know.

I just thought I would post this to prepare you guys since the news may hit us like a truck regardless of who it is. Please don't try to speculate on who it could be or somehow use their death for Smash speculation.

Well, a franchise. But yeah.

Like, I can give lots of different types of characters a pass, but one thing I'll never excuse in Smash is a character whose games are straight up bad.

The Crash games are just plain terrible. The only people that don't think so are people who never played any platformer before they played a Crash game. The only reason anyone cares about that character is because of a marketing campaign. If Sony hadn't pushed him as somehow being Mario's rival, Crash would be a Bubsy-level joke.

I kinda get it, but it's subjective. If Sakurai really include a character by putting a certain standard to their series and have to achieve a good expectation then there's a chance that he dislike Rayman, Doom, and Ninja Gaiden for specific reasons that you think it's good.

I dunno man. If there's anyone that thinks, say, the Crash games are better than the Rayman games, then...I just don't know what's wrong with the world...

It was Brad Venable. This guy has had roles in Games like Demon Souls and FF7R. His perhaps Most Recent Notable role was playing Griffon in DMC5 (the Electric Chicken in the game)

Regardless of whether I know most of his work or not this is tragic nonetheless, losing a loved one is painful and hurts a lot, his death will affect many and I wish all of them my best wishes.

I don't really know much of his work outside of DMCV but I can attest that his talent was amazing and his death was a loss to the gaming community as a whole, especially now it can be tough to deal with a family's passing mentally so I hope that his family can stay healthy through this. His death is tragic and the world is worst off without him in it.

Sorry for the late reply but I just wanted to answer this question.

It's a really fun game but pretty flawed. You get sucked out of your body and you become a ghost. You can possess things like Soldiers, scientists, dogs, rats, bats, etc to take over their bodies and play as them, Sometimes you'll have to scare them in order to possess them by using stuff like fire extinguishers and pressure gauges to put them on edge. There is one fight in the game where you have to defeat the guy by possessing his grenades and then rolling them over to him to explode on him.

The shooting is kind of janky and the framerate fluctuates from 60fps to 30fps a lot so if you aren't a fan of first person shooters, it's gonna put you off pretty fast as they aren't standard. Otherwise if you can get past those problems, it's a really interesting game

Things I like about Crash:
  • Above all, the memories of playing it with new friends who I still love 20 years later.
  • The characters are particularly memorable and fun, particularly for Sony
  • There is a pleasure to spinning as an attack. Taz want more!
  • The levels that were unique (particularly the rolling boulders/ running towards screen, and the Polar/Pura autorun levels)
  • The collectibles were memorable.

The games have a good amount of platforming-programming fails, but that difficulty made it feel more like the original Mario made in 3D.
It didn't compare to Mario 64 to me, but it was a good original trilogy.
Crash Bash and CTR were also quite a lot of fun with unique mechanics, that succeeded in more ways than it failed.

Damn. I didn't know him before today though I enjoyed his roles as Anubis in JoJo and Apoo in One Piece. RIP.

imo we won't really know what the REAL "roadblocks" there are for why Zelda never gets new characters anymore,
or what kind of characters they would be interested in if it did
until we actually GET one

Martin O'Donnell is a known conservative/right winger (Bungie employees even said he was the most right leaning person at the company) so I imagine he probably wouldn't be invited even if Chief was getting into Smash, to avoid bad PR. I imagine this is why none of the new Halo games brought him back, even though he's free from Bungie now.

And before anyone says Sugiyama, that's a different case because they have to pretty much go through him because he literally owns Dragon Quest's music. O'Donnell doesn't own anything, so they don't need 'em.

I don't understand why a company who's worked with right wing extremists and is still profiting from genocide as we speak would suddenly draw the line at this. You're right that they don't need him and Grant Kirkhope had to chase them to get involved with the game too.

Video is age-restricted, so you have to watch on Youtube

For this Relatively new Nintendo I.P that currently has no content in Smash, It sure is making crossovers with Series that have had Content in Smash (Mega Man, Persona 5, Monster Hunter) and working with Companies like Capcom and Sega.

Not to say this means Dragalia Lost is getting a character, and I'm not trying to shill a Character either (I'm not really interested in a Character from this series) but it raises the eyebrows
