Anniversaries might make things TOO predictable. It'd also make discussion here a nightmare. As every popular franchise's anniversary came closer it'd be "X CONFIRMED!" XD
One positive is that franchises that get very-little-to-no discussions would get some when anniversaries get close...
-- But on the other hand, it's not just what you said but also the fact that FP's very limited number (5 character reveals in ca. 13 months for FP1, presumably 6 character reveals in 18 / 21 months in FP2 whether one counts the ARMS teaser or not) would neccessarily skip a lot of anniversaries.
Question for you all. Who are your three personal choices for the final pass and what three characters would you be hyped for if they got in instead?
My three choices are:
2B
Tracer
Chun-li
The Three choices that would make me hyped if chosen:
Nero/Dante/Vergil (Really anyone from DMC)
Phoenix Wright
Isaac (From Golden Sun)
Honorable mention:
Viewtiful Joe
Okay, personal choices? Hmm...
1. I do support Master Chief primarily because I want to see console barriers shattered, and because the gunplay could be interesting / fun.
2. KOS-MOS is mostly due to gameplay potential as well - I mean, any character that can blow people up in various different ways is an automatic "10 / 10 would play again". This is why I stopped worrying and learned to love Magic Burst and Kamikaze.
3. But wait, I have three games mentioned in my sig! Really?! Really. The link ("LAKAD MATATAG! NORMALIN NORMALIN!") is a memetic caster call from a professional Dota 2 game - when the Tagalog (Phillipine language) casters were going bonkers over a sudden reversal of fortune and a hectic closure to a pro match. As such, yeah my most wanted's a Dota 2 character, even as that game has several major obstacles in its hypotheoretical path. Again, that game has a lot of characters that can blow people up near-instantly with little warning.
Asd for Hype... Practically any character developed in good faith (and I trust Sakurai implicitedly on this), but three in particular:
Reimu
Kratos
LoL. Partly because it's got a lot of moveset potential amongst its own characters - as well as interesting characters in their own right.
whoever designed that probably just googled "mario" and didn't bother to check if it was official
Pretty much, there might not have been that much oversight or any real double checking either. Could be time constraints or whatever.
