new theory: the less someone seriously believes their theory, the likelier it is. Serious speculation has done nothing for us. You know what has? Meme Theories. Fire Theory (and flame) and Color Theory are jokes, but they work.

Fire Theory is just too broad to not work.

Though even then you have to change it from "every character has fire in their moveset" to "every challenger pack must have a character with some allusion to fire".

I mean I think using either Heihachi, Kazuya or Jin would maintain the trend. Even if Heihachi seems like the foremost choice, all three more or less constitute the face of the series. Like Awakening has Chrom, but Robin and Lucina wouldn't disrupt the trend either.

This was debunked a long time ago. The theory was based on the menu making a perfect rectangle and had nothing to do with any coding. Everything else was just misinformation.

EDIT: I have seen a newer theory that essentially says that all characters that would require more than just an English and Japanese voice actor are disconfirmed due to budget reasons, but I don't buy that one either.

I just watched Gamexplain's vid on Dread.

Dread "Finishing" the 2D Metroid storyline is.... interesting. Makes me VERY curious as to what that means, exactly.

Well, considering Samus went rogue after Fusion and she's not in the Galactic Federation's good books(and they may be hunting her with the EMMI's), I guess the ending is either something happens that really cripples the Federation or maybe something regarding Samus and the Chozo, considering the living Chozo in the trailer and the Samus Returns remake mentioning an evil Chozo faction or something.

That said, I always thought that with how much the universe tries to copy her, with the Federation and Space Pirates trying to find a way to use her technology and how two parasitic creatures(one species in one of those cases) have taken her equipment and her form, I've always joked the possibility of one of her games ending with her taking in a bunch of young clones of herself and raising them like a family and the next game having one of them be the next "Samus" to keep the universe's "fascination with her" going.
I mean, yes she is probably the most known and famous Bounty Hunter in her games hence why factions focus on her technology, weaponry and whatnot, yet aside from the main Metroids, her most dangerous threats are the ones who either copied her or are trying to copy her. And considering the Galactic Federation had no problems with trying to attempt and control a multitude of SA-Xs, them using cloning technology doesn't feel like an unlikelihood.

I think it's safe to say it's the biggest highlight from the entire thing. I know I'm gonna be harassing the **** out of my local gaming store daily to ask if they have the collector's edition and amiibo in stock

"ARMS" released today in 2017 !! A fighting game where you can stretch your arms. I thought about making Meen Meen, but this design without skis is amazing. Like "Splatoon", everywhere is a mass of information. #Smash Bros SP

Now that I think about it, Namco is pushing Kazuya as a mascot (or maybe it was Jin or...both?), but Heihachi is still the more recognizable face, at least in my experience.

Maybe. I'd say it definitely will help if they are indeed retiring Heihachi to some extent*.



*I doubt they'll remove him from the roster, but they may not give him any more roles that require new voice lines (so like, no story mode roles beyond cameoes or flashbacks or something).

If anyone is interested, here is the planned schedule for RTC after CP 10. Shifting gears towards a more smaller character focused schedule as a whole, think it will be a lot of fun to think about.

Reimu and shantae on the same day? crazy.

The first pass also seemed to focus exclusively on third-parties. The last character was Byleth.

I don't think Nintendo is following a theme for this pass. There are some similarities between some of the characters, but I don't believe it's intentional. We're already starting to bend the rules after Sephiroth and Kazuya. "They considered Sephiroth among several other SE characters," which is an assumption, and, "Characters from franchises considered in past Smash games count."

True true, they may break the pattern. I just wanted to point out said pattern. plus, FP1's all third party is a weaker pattern I think then, All these fighters were considered in the past and/or took long negotiations.

As a Primarina fan, I think I'm, like, honorbound to root against Decidueye.

Best of the starters by far and gets so little love. I just wish her signiture move was a bit better...
