Yes. Every fighter, even those with alts that change their names, only take up 1 WOL slot.

So if there were 15 slots, and only 12 DLC fighters, for Fighters pass 1, and Fighters pass 2. Then, Fighters pass 3 would be 4 characters.

I saw some peaople here speculating that Arthur (Ghost 'N Goblins) would be one of the most likely characters to be in FP2. That honestly makes me pretty happy. Not that i thing he'd have a better chance than other Capcom reps (Dante, for exemple), but he would be a cool Capcom rep (if we're going to get another Capcom rep at this point).

I actually want both Dante (DMC) and Arthur (Ghosts and Goblins).

Everyone's writing in March as the next character reveal for sure, even I was for a bit, but there's no reason it couldn't be in, say, late February either. We really won't know until we get closer, but I guess all we can really say is Spring right now.

It's really only due to the next batch of amiibos coming out on that month.

I disagree that the cast is unfit for playability (I think Pearl and Marina are distinct enough in body-shape to be a unique take on the Icies/duo character archetype, unlike Squid Sisters) but yeah, the frontrunner being the ideal echo does block discussion on the series quite a bit.

Barring future developments I don't think you're going to get Pearl and Marina before you get Callie and Marie.

If you could pick 5 assist trophies to become full characters without impeding on dlc slots who would you pick. Without much thought I'd prob say something like Shadow, Isaac, Bomberman, Zero, and Waluigi

This would be one of the best case scenarios for further dlc imo. So many of my most wanted characters are assist trophies, and while assist trophies are a cool way to represent some characters who don`t make it to fully-fledged fighters, I think most people just turn items off by default so Assist trophies to become pretty pointless.

Anyways, my picks:

Knuckles
Waluigi I guess, but there's so many great choices I just settled on him

January is too early. We just got Sephiroth in December.

February I can see being earliest but still suspecting March.

If the character is going to release March, maybe April, which is the consensus, they could be revealed at any time now. Pass 2's original plan for reveals has been thrown off because of the pandemic, but it's not at all irregular to get a trailer some two-ish months prior to release.

Not saying people should expect it, but it's certainly not an unrealistic prediction if we get a January Direct or something.

So I just started playing Ōkami recently. It's actually a really good game. Previously, my most wanted Capcom character was Phoenix, but... I might have to think about switching that to Amaterasu.

Also, I'd love to see how crazy they get with the Celestial Brush.

We were doing Assist Upgrades? I'll take it to the next level five upgrades for Spirits, Costumes and Assists.

Spoiler: Upgrades

Spirits:

1) Geno [also counts as costume ofc] (He's my son. I love him and he was also seen for a long time as one of the most likely spirit upgrades, for good reason. He is/was incredibly popular and had a lot of fan demand but we all know this by now.)

2) Duster (Mother 3 is a really really good game and I'd love to see it represented more, especially in Duster being a character cause he's my favorite from the game. It'd never happen but this is a fully selfish list so I put him here just cause I'd like it and more Mother 3 representation in Music.)

3) Karate Joe (Rhythm Heaven was supposedly going to get a character in Smash 4 which seemed to be Chorus Kids but as we all know limitations got in the way, that doesn't matter as much nowadays with the 3DS being a thing of the past and Rhythm Heaven should get a character it's kinda niche but is a very interesting Nintendo Franchise which should get better rep and Karate Joe is my pick since he's been in most of the games.)

4) Mach Rider (We still haven't really gotten our "Retro Rep" and that's one of the things I always look forward to when a new Smash releases, the wacky zany retro throwback character and my personal choice is simply Mach Rider.)

5) Dr. Eggman (My mans Eggman is just a really good character. Funny guy everyone loves em, Eggman is the last massive villain to yet be added to Smash and I think him just being a spirit for how big a character he is well, it's simply a crime. He should've been a boss at least but add my man to the roster he'd be fun.)

Assists:

1) Skull Kid (I'd really like to see another Zelda Character although it's not one of my most wanted additions I still think it'd be cool and Skull Kid is my personal most wanted in that regard cause Majora's Mask is just really really good. Skull Kid is a fun character with a fun personality and would bring a fun moveset.)

2) Isaac (Really like the Golden Sun Franchise and I think getting Geno + Isaac to round out the big Brawl Requests (that were still standing sometime in Ultimate) would be really cool, not the only reason I want Geno ofc nor Isaac but it'd be cool I think. Isaac would also be nice in representing a new Nintendo Franchise to the Roster.)

3) Sukapon (Another WTF/Retro pick but Sukapon is my second most wanted in that regard and I think they'd be really fun. Sukapon would be a really weird addition but I'd like it cause they have history with the Smash Series, Come from an interesting game and would bring a lot of interesting stuff.)

4) Zero (Zero is a really cool Mega Man character and I think Mega Man should get another character someday be it Zero or Tron Bonne (who didn't make the list simply cause there's other Spirits I'd prefer though I'd like her a lot) and Zero is ever so slightly more iconic and also has a neat design so I went with him.)

5) Shovel Knight

Costumes:
[Since I spent three on Geno, Isaac and Skull Kid I only get two choices here]

1) Travis Touchdown (Few months ago played NMH and Travis is a really funny character I like him. Pretty simple honestly, he's just funny and I like him. Plus he'd bring some nice content)

2) Heihachi (Tekken is a massive Series I really think it deserved better. It's nice that it's represented at all but Hehachi would've been a really cool character and brought some sick content with him from the Music, Stage or even to the Spirits. Would've been really cool.)

Also speaking of inclusions and whatnot, crazy to think we only have three characters left huh? It's really starting to feel like an end of an era. We've been all talking about Ultimate in one way or another for two-three years now it'll be really surreal when it ends.

If the ending of Metroid: Samus Returns is any indication, I'd guess either Metroid Fusion or a whole new Metroid game. (the post-credits scene was an obvious hint towards Fusion, but there's some lore/collectibles that indicate that they've got some plans for what could come next)

Bomberman just feels right. Fun character with great tunes, get him in here.
Starfy. I have a real soft spot for this guy, I liked his DS game when I was younger. Maybe if he was in Smash they could bring the rest overseas.
Skull Kid or Midna to spice up the Zelda crew a little bit. I could go either way, I like them both.
Waluigi feels obligatory, and I'd probably have a blast playing as him.
Nikki... why not? She's cute, I miss weird hardware characters and a moveset surrounding drawing / art would be great.

Isaac, Samurai Goroh, Tiki, Alucard, Takamaru, Ashley, Zero, Black Knight, Knuckles... too many good options really.

Now I disagree with what Riley says good amount of times, but if we agreed on everything, this place would be boring. In any case, I find Riley to be reasonable most of the time.

I don't agree that the next Remake is Super Metroid, and I have no opinion about the Diamond and Pearl Remakes and whether they are next or not

As is often argued, Meta Knight and King Dedede are (in my book, the latter is a villain), in literary speak, anti-heroes, and not villains. Meta Knight's agenda is not clear (from what I have seen and read), assists Kirby at times, and fights with a sense of honor; and King Dedede sometimes interacts with Kirby in good-nature, despite being greedy.

Takamaru and Isaac are easily the most jarring omissions, the rest would just be nice.

You know, it's not that hard to just not respond. There's too much ganging up on users. If they want to die on some hill, let them. You only make things worse anyway by responding at that point. Besides, everybody has disagreements. It's only reasonable as long as you're civil. And when there's a lot of ganging up on users and not simply reporting issues, you aren't really proving anything at all. You're only making it less friendly.

Let's not gang up on users and just be respectful instead. It goes a long way in making this forum a lot better to be at. I can also safely say that sometimes people way overreact to various opinions(if the opinion is distasteful in itself, it's probably actually worth reporting anyway. Like, almost 100% of the time, really) anyway. You can disagree without being mean about it. It doesn't ultimately matter if you don't like the idea or thought. There's way too much aggression here for no legitimate reason(that's cause there's never a legitimate reason to be aggressive towards other users).

Shadow is the only one I was at one point iffy on, but I wasn't prepared for 3rd Party franchises to get a second character. Richter with the Castlevania franchise, then Ken with the Street Fighter franchise, and later Sephiroth with the Final Fantasy 7 franchise? Noice. The last one was even more unexpected, though Richter I wasn't nearly as surprised about, due to how important he is as a protagonist.

After Metroid and Pokemon I was following the breadcrumbs. I don't think he's disagreeing with people just to disagree, but I do think he's wrong.
