Enjoying Yakuza: Like A Dragon right now. Is it too late to champion a Yakuza rep?

I just got into the Yakuza series this year as well. With quarantine allowing me to sink time into some longer games. I’m definitely thinking about championing Kiryu (though I’d prefer Majima). I recently finished Yakuza Kiwami 2 and I’m debating whether I should continue to Yakuza 3 or just jump to Like A Dragon.

yes elmas hair isnt incredibly long but one spirit in that event is trevor belmont and his hair isnt even as long as her hair. That's probably reaching tho.

There's reasons why Chun-Li may be excluded but this ain't one of them chief. I doubt they went:

There's reasons why Chun-Li may be excluded but this ain't one of them chief. I doubt they went:

I think you got it backwards, The idea is that "if" chun li was planned, they wouldn't have put her in a sprit event to begin with.

I've never played any before; saw Like a Dragon on sale (and it was a Metalcase....I cant resist those) and jumped on it. Seems pretty fun so far.

Even so, with characters like Tails, Dr. Eggman, and potentially Shadow and Knuckles, it isn't exactly a no-brainer decision to go for other franchises instead. We could get Demi-Fiend, Shenmou, or Kiryu next, but I wouldn't count out a second Sonic the Hedgehog character either. Not by a long shot.

Maybe Riley would be more excited if you mentioned Amy.

We live in a world where GTA V has been resold for seven years straight across three console generations. I think Nintendo would be fine with an Ultimate port as the next console's Smash game.

I wouldn't complain, honestly. Just give us a new port with more base game and DLC characters.

Red Shell hat is the only Non-Generic Item (Non-Generic in that it comes from an actual franchise) to not make an appearance in this game (Also I assume Lloyd and Hunter will be returning)

After my literal week of nonstop investigation and analyzing, I think 2 out of 3 remaining characters are Arthur (ghost n goblins) and elma (xenoblade 2). but that's just what makes the most sense to me at this point. assuming the remaining mii costumes were picked specifically to in some way thematically blend with the characters, monster hunter armors are well.... armors and Arthur's armor is a central part of his gameplay so I would assume that would be incorporated in his move set. and elma could follow the same vein as arms with sakurai wanting to add another xenoblade character in but could not, also elma uses two swords and her outfit is quite similar to lloyds. not to mention that lloyd has two swords as well.
ps I also just really want Arthur is so bias might have an influence on my analasis.

Except Rockstar doesn't have to deal with the legal nightmares of talking to every single copyright owner involved to port the game to a TI-81 calculator, since they own everything that's in the game.

You're going to have to remind me. How does Arthur's armor work in his game? It's something you pick up like a fire flower in Mario, right?

Elma is from Xenoblade X, not 2.

kinda, you star out with armor but it basicly gives you one more hit until you die an you loose your armor and are left with just your boxers, but you can pick up armor upgrades that also upgrade your current weapon. i think there are 3 classes of armor (at least in the snes ghost n goblins game) normal armor, bronze armor, and the golden armor.

Ya'know, I keep forgetting she exists for some reason. She's not a forgettable character, and she's one of the most commonly appearing characters, so I really don't know what the deal with that is. I just...never remember her when listing major Sonic characters.

From my Own analysis of everything in the game, as well as other statements and factors around this Fighter Pass, I also landed on Elma as one of the last 3 Characters.

I Didn't get Arthur though. Part of that is probably because I don't expect him in, but anything could happen and he is getting revived next year

Riley expressing anything other than pessimism would be a shock.

It's really Not. Riley has made Support threads for the Backyard characters I believe. Riley isn't pessimistic all the time

Just a little correction: Elma is from Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Also, i'd love to hear some Ghost 'N Goblins music in Smash.

GTA games starting with Vice City feature licensed songs in the triple digits. VC itself had to be temporarily removed from Steam while they relicensed songs after ten-year contracts expired, and GTAV just had an update adding three more radio stations plus updates to two old ones for a total of 250 more songs.

I have an idea to propose. So if we look at all the spirit events after byleth, there is no spirit event with min min in it assuming they didn't want to put any spotlight on that spirit since they had already decided to put min min in smash at that point. So if that is something to take seriously then if chun li was shown in any of the spirit events post byleth, then it could be safe to assume that her chances might drop since it doesn't make sense to include her spirit when they know she is coming as a character. It just sounds weird to me and would be easy to just not include her in events to avoid confusion. Idk I've been obsessing on finding little crumbs of information the past week. OH side note to that same idea, waluigi is shown in events post byleth and also elma isnt in the spirit event with the theme of long hair and she totally would fit the bill for that event. IDK, what are your guys thoughts

Probably because she was already released and so they wouldn't need to exclude her from spirit events. Now if that event was before she was released, it would be more suspicious.

And actually, if Ryu is a costume, he goes perfectly with Arthur because they both are known as Retro legends in that fashion

The one thing I'd have to say is that I imagine Gil would have been perfect for Arthur's potential pack, Since Gil rocks that amazing Armor as well. I imagine if it's mostly Capcom related then there probably no Space

Dungeon Fighter's Archmage would fit that archetype well and also the Magician from MapleStory .

Indeed she does! Ahri is a Burst Mage, in League, meaning you're supposed to chain multiple abilities when engaging an enemy to deal massive damage, which she can also make use of through her mobility. Though she, like most mages in the game, is a bit of a glass cannon as a result.

About Reimu: didn't she have more of a rushdown playstyle in the Touhou fighting games? Grazing was a mechanic there too, right?
