Legendary has established on more than one occasion that his taste in games is terrible.
LoL i dislike the FF series and dragon age? The reason I don't like dragon age was because it got hyped to be the greatest game ever then when I see it played it's ball sack. FF just flat out sucks. Games I do like Devil May Cry, MvC2, Tekken series SF series (most of them) ummm Socom ftb 2 (psp) and some of the old games like Donkey Kong for SNES and Mario 64. I guess I'm not much of a video game person. I also like Power Stone for the DC and Sonic stuff like that. I think my taste in games are good. I'm just not this 12 year old emo kid that's obsessed with Final Fantasy.

Uncharted 2 got a perfect score and game of the year in GI. It's pretty good.
A lot of games score high but that doesn't tell me much about the game. Like Assassin Creed was rated pretty high also. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Tekken Tag was the ****. Most Tekken games were/are broken or kinda silly, but they were ****** so it didn't matter.

I do not understand the Donkey Kong series. It's one of the blandest games I think I've ever played. I know DK64 is supposed to be sweet, but why does anyone like the old games? I can't even reminisce because there was nothing even remotely exciting about these games that I could remember.

Lets talk about some SSX3 for the Gamecube. Easily one of my favorite games ever. You can ride from the top of the mountain all the way to the bottom in one run with no load times and it'll take 30 minutes. How insanely awesome is that?!

I don't know what SSx3 is. Anyways if you haven't played the Donkey Kong Country games then I feel for you. They're awesome their the reason why DK is in brawl not some bull **** as DK64 whatever that crap is.

Also I like conquerors bad fur day and Crash bandicoot. I think my video game taste is excellent it isn't my fault that they focus more on graphics instead of making decent games now a days prime example whack *** Dragon age, bulletta and Wet. Terrible games.

Yeah... Dragon Age did anything but focus on the graphics, lol. Do some reasearch, ho.

Also, I'm a 22 year old sports player who's going to med school and I love FF. So much for the 12 year old emo kid thing. You just sound like one of those people that hates the series because it's popular, is all.

Like I've said before, Bayonetta would've been awesome if it wasn't focused no pandering to the loneliest of video game players by turning the game into softcore porn w/ a good battle system.

I don't like the FF series because of the fighting battle stand attack blah blah non sense. The description of the FF fans was just a joke I say it to my friends all the time. research? research? Don't talk to me about research. :D

So you just don't like any turn based RPG, then?

If that's the case I can understand, but if you DO like those types of games but not FF then something's up. Dragon Age is also not turn based in the slightest, it's all real time and you can get mobbed, flanked, killed by traps the enemies have setup, etc, while you have to command 4 characters.

Uncharted 2 is good, but far from amazing imo. Sometimes you can't really tell where you're supposed to jump to and crawl around next unless the game gives you hints, and some of the gunfights last ages. The action packed/movie like scenes in the game are the ****, though.

turn based combat isnt even in the new FF.

i think ive seen the problem he hates anything that gameplay isnt handed to him.

he hates dragon age and FF and both of these games require some form of strategy to play.

he likes crash bandicoot where you like...what...jump or something?

Beside the good graphics I only care if the game got a good story/gameplay/mechanics. PaperMario was clearly not paying attention to the graphics and made the game style so simple because they didn't want to abuse from graphics. Still one of the best games I've played.

I feel bad because I can have more than 1 new console at home because Brazil's taxes are soooo abusive, well from those who don't know our taxes I'm making a small 'calculus' here: The dollar is worthing 1,889 Real (today's Dollar balance, **** economy college), and Playstation 3 is around 1.900 Real so... Well the price of a PS3 here is around 900 dollars, and a PS3 game is around 100 dollars lol, so can't afford it.

TBH, I've have been playing only games that make me laugh or that are so simple and absurdely HARD. Like 'Bit Trip Core/Void/Beat' (Wii VC), Rhythm Heaven (DS), WarioWare (any of those). The last long lasting RPGs/RPGaction games I've played were TorchLight(PC), KH 1 2 356/2, FF7, SuperMario RPG (on emulator probably the best game ever), Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside the Story and The World Ends With You.

Just because it isn't turn based like FF doesn't mean i'll auto like it. The game play on Dragon age from what I can see is just bad so are the fight sequences it looks at though they made WoW for a video game system. I still don't know what uncharted 2 though.

@pado I think you mean calculation and don't feel bad I can't afford a ps3 either.

Paper Mario? Was the sh**. Only 2 complaints I had about it were that:

1. You cannot keep playing after the ending. After you beat Bowser and go through the credits and what not, when you try to play again you start off at the last Save Block you hit (which is usually the one next to the spiral staircase that leads to Bowser and Peach, wayyyyyyyy in the castle lol). They fixed this in the next Paper Marios, but I always wondered how amazing the first would have been with that changed.

2. I wish they had it where when you traded Star Pieces for Badges with Merlon's Son or Grandson, that in the event you didn't have enough star pieces that you could buy them with coins (even for an absurd amount like 600+ or 999.) I understand they wanted people to collect all the star pieces, and every run of the game unless I felt like doing otherwise I collected them all, but it would be nice for people who didn't want to have to run around EVERYWHERE flipping over Panels in the ground to get every single piece.

3rd minor: Out of 80ish badges I think, a TON of those are simply duplicate badges that you stack (HP plus, FP Plus, Shrink Stomp, Dizzy Stomp, Focus, Multibounce, etc). Like I can understand having a few of them stack up like the HP and FP plus, and maybe even Focus since that dealt with your Star Spirit Meter, but like there was no need for 2-3 attacking badges stacked on each other for like 7-10 badges lol.

**** DMG, that's just how I felt about paper mario. But wow, that series is amazing. In SPM I missed the siple old combat system but it was still a nice touch, there were some epic moments like playing through world 1-2 and then switching into 3-D mode, something about that was awesome.

Legendary, you like a lot of fighting games, lol. I really like Tekken to although I never got to own one because back then I was an Nintendo fanboy and didn't like Sony, so I didn't buy a PS1/2/and now 3. But that game is fun as hell.

I also wish for some new turn based rpgs to come out, they are pretty fun but I highly doubt they are that strategic seeing as it mostly involves grinding. There have been a few changes to this obiously but it is apparent that those games are repetitive within themselves. Although, I mostly enjoy it for the story.

And this is hilarious; http://www.sophiehoulden.com/games/thelinearrpg/

Uncharted 2 is like, extensive 3rd person shooting w/ some platforming sequences (some of these long and boring, others awesome).

Dragon Age has some WoW-ish tendencies, but that still doesn't change the fact that you need strategies in each encounter depending on the layout of the land and what types of enemies you're facing... not to mention it's a **** hard game in it's own right.

Also, the main focus in it is the characters and your choices in the world and how that effects those around you, etc.

Personally, I only really enjoyed the first Paper Mario (A LOT). The second one was lazy, all you did in that one was go back and forth on the same paths multiple times for each chapter.

As far as Mario RPGs go, the Mario and Luigi series for DS/GBA is much better (and the latest game was amazingly fun).

Uncharted 2 is actually **** incredible, I watched a long bit of that game and was completely surprised by how good it is. It it really does feel like a movie, they chose a really good style of music that really fits with the game. Although the platforming could be hard it is good to see a game that is somewhat difficult rather than freaking easy and like 7 hours. You don't want to pay $70 for a game you finish in 7 hours, you want something like uncharted 2.

Uncharted 2 is only a 12 hour game max, and I suck at the shooting portions so they take me like 30 minutes longer than they should. Maybe I just don't get the hype b/c I have issues w/ all the movie cliches/deus ex machinas and generally have some distaste for shooters.

fighting games are beast, **** is becoming one of my favourite genres. I haven't tried TvC for NA but I played it when it was in Japan although someone posted here earlier that many changes were made to balance it. I really liked it, runs at a fast smooth rate, great visuals, great battle system but i didn't notice too much the unbalanced roster. I hear everyone has an infinite now, lol.

Hey DMG,

Holy ****, I felt so betrayed when I finished the game and couldn't go back after beating bowser on the first PaperMario, about badges... in Level 10 you got "Shrink Stomp" on lvl 25 the "Shrink Stomp PLUS" and then on level 40 "Ub3r 133t Shrink Stomp" you know what I mean, they lacked creativity on this point.

By the way, did you beat that ****ing master toad that got different levels of training modes? On the last level of training he turned into a SuperSayan and beat my *** up with like 9000 of atk damage...

@Legendary

Played TvC on EVO2k9 SouthAmerica, on every oponnent I faced they got a character that could infinite anyone on the roster (Karass or something like that can't read japanese). I'm really excited to test the NA version.

@Dyno

SMRPG is just the the best RPG-MarioBased game ever other **** just tryed to be as epic as it still is, not saying the successors weren't GREAT games.

Yeah the Japanese version had a lot of infinites and glitches in it. The American version supposedly removed all characters infinites. But who knows only time will tell until something broken comes out.

Megaman X is the best one out of that series, imo. The best Megaman series is the Zero series though, for sure (and also the hardest, probably).

Hey fellas, I'm working on a feature-length screenplay this semester, and I'd like your input. It's about a secret agent named Gate who's assigned to rescue his abducted boss while babysitting the boss's 7 year-old son at the same time. It will be written in the same vein as Pixar films, and it will hopefully be a project I can present to John Lasseter when I live in California this summer. I can use any input you have!

Here's the link to the group.

Looking forward to some collaboration!
