I mean this isn't the social and this should totes be taken up there if it were to continue but like, there are really two people out there for me: there are the people that can't stand me and there are the people who love me. I'm just that personality I guess lol.
This is sosososososo true lol.

Lost 15 pounds over three months of calorie counting...22 pounds in one month of significantly increased bacon consumption. :D

And steak. And eggs. And cheese. Lots of cheese. Oh, the cheese I've had...

EDIT: Ranmaru, what the heck did I just watch?

No calorie counting at all. Ketogenic diet (keto).

No carbs at all, after a couple days the body switches to metabolizing fat for primary fuel source. High fat, low carb diet. Fat comes right off...think of how drinking water causes you to drop water weight.

Plus, "bread makes you fat"...bread has the same glycemic index as refined sugar. Grains/carbohydrate sources produce an insulin response, the body stores carbs. Do a bit of reading as to how the metabolizes food.

The most important point is that "saturated fat causes heart disease" is a myth that became US Health Policy since the 60's thanks to politicians and lobbyists...there hasn't been any demonstrated correlation between saturated fat intake and heart disease. Meanwhile, as people actively avoided fats, we see a massive uptick in diabetes because people are loading with carbs and replacing good saturated fats with the bad stuff found in vegetable oils and hydrogenated fats.

I've seen decent arguments for low fat diets causing depression as well. And ever seen vegetarians that don't seem to lose weight? IMO the reason low fat diets work for some and not others is just reduction in calorie intake...some people do, and other people replace the fat with more carbs and get diabetes.

Eat fat (eggs, cheese, meat, olive oil), avoid carbs, lose weight. Exercise for multipliers.

My dinner tonight was a veggie/bacon/cheese omelette fried in bacon fat. The other day I made tacos using fried cheese for a tortilla replacement. Last week I had a lunch of bacon wrapped jalapeño's stuffed with cream cheese. It's beautiful, man. Losing weight and feeling energetic like a boss.

Watch the documentary "Fat Head" on Netflix/Hulu (first half is a little slow and mostly just trashing Supersize Me as having all the wrong conclusions, second half is super interesting). The guy demonstrates it pretty effectively by going on a low-carb McDonalds diet and losing weight while improving all vitals.

alright. i'll do that when i'm more coherent.

it's too bad, bread is delicious all the time, while bacon is delicious only occasionally.
BLTs are god tier, but they combine both :c

With anything, the devil is in the details. Unsaturated fats are definitely healthier to consume than saturated fats due to cholesterol and LDL. More innate is the fact that unsaturated fats are all single bonds and therefore stack resulting in accumulation whereas unsaturated fats contain a double bond kink. Atkins also pushed on a meat heavy diet with omitting carbs from the equation. Carbs are really there for quick energy and prevent fat burning since the units are easier to break down and require less energy. With a fatty acid it involves breaking down a chain and then processing that for energy use. Carbohydrates can easily be broken down into monomeric units for consumption so the body tends to simply use carbs for energy instead of taking the harder process which is to break down fat when it is available. I'm more interested though in whether this is a smart decision for someone who may have heart problems as a high fat diet can cause conditions like atheroscelerosis.

Currently I am trying to increase intake in general foods like eggs, chicken, fish since they are high in protein and good for building muscle mass. Unfortunately I'm not getting enough calories in my diet. I never found it hard to lose weight. Just avoid soda, sugar, processed foods, ect. I do find it hard though to gain muscle though and I do try to hit the gym around three times a week.

Right then, have fun eating your leaves while us REAL MAN eat bacon....
Yeah, that.

It isn't even about being a man though. It's about being a human. Even vegetarians secretly love bacon (not intended to be a factual statement). Not liking bacon is like not liking pizza or ice cream or Star Wars.

Bacon really is gross lol.
My mind.

It has never been more full of ****.
