It's called bussing.

J did it in Ronike's Inception Mafia. (More specifically, he executed him during the day and got towncred for it)

Using your MAFIA NK to kill a fellow MAFIA member will not earn you towncred. All it will do is confuse the town, and make you take a giant step backwards in progressing your team towards victory.

Different situation happened (it was my first game). It was Upick Pokemafia. Ryker had a 1-shot additional kill (wtf at this) but it was a poison and they didn't die until the end of the day phase. He uses that on his own partner and rides to victory. It's unfortunate that it was my first game because Ryker played scummy as **** but with that additional kill it was impossible to think he wasn't town. I wanted him lynched as soon as he claimed the kill (especially with a claimed town role made to stop things like that). I thought he was a really good player at that point. Then I started seeing him do the dumbest **** and throw games :bee:.

Because that balls-out Gastrodon Neighbors claim didn't totally throw them for a loop.

I didn't even know that shooting your own partner was allowed. In all of my games thus far, that would have been an illegal move.

Actually this is a gambit I've been waiting to use for a year or so.

You can attract the track and NK your scumbuddy - or an even better play would be to campaign for doc then no shoot.

Works in newbie setups etc

Make sure the doc is alive and on you, though. Otherwise GG.

I can vouch for Gymmo being able to do a game in the normal queue.

Plenty experience on MafiaScum, played a lot with him on SmashNL, and he's played a game here before (Tree Stump or Werewolves, not sure which).

Also generally smart guy. Marshy already got him in though. Yer a wizard, Marshy.

It works. I only lost because indy Vocal read his win-con incorrectly because he thought he could only win with town and derped revealing himself as the indy. However it can earn you town cred and move you closer to your goal.

Also more sign-ups for sold2's game me and Sang want to play a bit before college starts back up. D:

Different scenarios call for different things. And it's never JUST the gambit. It may play a key part but a gambit can only go so far.

It just seems like an awfully extremely risky gambit to use, when you could just use good play to win instead.
A gambit, when properly executed is good play. Do not confuse solid analysis, insight and easy to follow logic as the 'proper' way to play.

Good play is any play that increases your chance of winning (or if you look a little deeper, the play that increased your chances of winning by the highest amount). Killing your own scumbuddy will to many people make you not-scum - leaving only indie speculation. Most players are unlikely to play balls-to-the-wall as indie, far too risky. Making you a firm townread for many.

Provided your faction wins the game, it doesn't matter if you were alive or not at the end. We see a lot of postgame posts where townies that lost say "omg but I had you pinned & lynched you" - yeah, you did, but we let him die and he lead connections to two mislynches etc etc.

You also see townies thinking they played well because they had scum pinned on the last day - often you will - but scum play knowing you will mechanically/elsewhise pin them and instead play to target other players, winning them the game.

This post is becoming less and less relevant to the topic, but I think it useful and overlooked by a great many players.

tl;dr - "good" play is misunderstood by most of the community imo.
