I used to play T1 (Vintage) good sir, and that is a financial drain.

I actually recently picked it back up casually too.

I just made a test play deck out of paper and card sleeves. Should run me about $10 to get the cards I need if I get them. Kamigawa is the ****. I never followed it so idk what T I'm even in. I think its T1.5.

Oh, trade, are you a music major or do you hang out with the music majors in the devil's den? I know this girl who goes to CCSU.

Edit: My current playtesting deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=49301

What a nub.

Go to your User CP, and change the settings to show 40 posts per page. We haven't even broken 2k pages.

i'd disagree. t1 is less expensive if u run proxies. plus the cards u get are usualy a good investment cuz theyre not gonn go outta style in 3 months like t2

I'm sorta trying to get back into mtg, its just hard because the fun is all gone for me I really don't enjoy the recent blocks . Every now and then I'll go to the local card/hobby shop place and just **** in drafts but I still don't enjoy it. its weird.

Octave- drop 19 cards, MTG is a very statistics friendly game so you want to have exactly 60 cards. With that in mind you should have almost all cards x4, never really want singles or doubles of cards. Its all about being consistent and statistical.

This is pretty much the rule of any card game. Cut down the chances you get something you can't use by making everything interlocking and appear often, unless you're filled with deck searching cards.

wars not make one great
I once bought a Grindstone from a Dream Wizards store for 25 cents because the guy behind the counter was too stupid to realize that the Tempest edition all had the same black cloud as their symbol, and instead thought it was a common card LMAO it's worth $9 or so iirc and now I have two of them collecting dust somewhere. I really should sell my cards.

I want to expect better of you, but I know not to
I was a limited specialist and fairly competitive magic player for a long time. I played with a regular draft crew at Carnegie Mellon, consisting of a bunch of pro and semi-pro players (like this guy, this guy, and this guy). I took limited pretty seriously and tried my hand at quite a few PTQs back then, but always ended up coming short. I took 9-13th at 4 limited PTQs in a row during Ravnica block, which was just killer because all I wanted was a top 8 where I could go to town at drafting (my specialty) and I kept missing on tiebreakers with X-1-1 records through sealed. After that season, I started going to fewer and fewer tournies and eventually quit post college when I realized that I only had time enough to keep up with Smash or Magic, so I chose the one that was cheaper and had a better community over the one I was probably better at.

tl;dr: I used to be pretty good at magic, but don't have the time for it any more and it frustrates the hell outta me. I would still **** you all at drafting though.
