We need to draft sometime, I'm pretty good. If I actually went to events and still played i would be about a 1850 maybe a 1900 in limited, my theory is top notch still I just don't now any of the cards in the format.

Seb you have no idea how broken Magic is if you think Phantom Nishoba is good.

Also, Last Word is dumb in a counter war. Yeah, Last Word can't be countered, but you can just cast ANOTHER counterspell back on the original spell you intended to counter.

If your opponent has no countermagic, Last Word is fine (even though it kind of defeats the purpose, then), but if they have counters, you can let the Last Word resolve and just re-counter the thing you originally tried to counter.

Dumb.

Well that's understandable, good sir.

I was just looking at how this page was going, and Aesir was like, "Oh noes Last Word," and I'm like... Bizzarro Akroma is Pro-Blue. She's not getting countered. The Last Word was meant for the Mystic Snake, which is not that great of a card anyway.

Elvish Spirit Guide all day, though. ^_^

The oh noes was because it was going to be destroyed, and I couldn't blink it because it's pro-white. It had nothing to do with countering.

I was avoiding a destruction nothing else. Were you even paying attention?

The counter spell was for hazzy, I was bring out akroma just be funny and to show "good luck counter spelling this" To think it was just a large chain following counter spell was just funny imo. furthermore I could have brought her out in response to the counter spell as morphing is a mana ability. though this is only possible if she was already out face down.

In any case my Akroma would have died because of a destruction effect, not because of any countering.

That was probably one of the best Daily Shows ever.
Also, Glenn Beck is right in most of what he says...if he were saying it 50-100 years in the future assuming that everything moves at the rate it is now.

I mean, even my dad was a Tea Party guy, but he just thinks Glenn is blowing it out of proportion now.

No, everything he says is true if you take where we are right now as a country[giving government power in the private economy], and take it to its most extreme level over the course of 50-100 years.

Chances of it happening are not very good, and the only thing he is wrong about is WHEN its going to happen, which is why, as Joey said, he is just using the possible end as a scare tactic to avoid it.

Hes an entertainer though, and he is doing his job.

slippery slopes never happen and are the absolute worst arguments to make, nick! they also make my debactor self rage pretty hard. try to get 6 speaker points with that ****, it ain't happening. i would go further in depth but i'm out the door. CT has other debators to explain this, right?

Your criteria for being right is pretty broad. He basically implies that we're heading down communism, because we have social safety nets.

Not to mention he's implied the Rockefeller's were Communists

Edit: Slippery slopes are pretty bad arguments as hazy said, Glenn Constantly uses slippery slope arguments and strawmans, as well as just using distractions from actual issues.

For instance instead of countering any points Dennis Kucinich made he just laughed it off and made a punch line out of his term as mayor of Cleveland. The only difference between him and John Stewart is people take Glenn Beck as a reporter.
