Budai: In case you read this, I checked and you can park in front of my street anytime after 6pm. Technically you have to pay the meter until 7pm but the cops said they were off duty after 6 tonight. ^_^

I had to sit through an hour long bus ride this morning where some African American guy, I want to say in his late 20's to early 30's, talked to another African American male probably about my age, very early 20's, about this whole situation.
Not only did he compare what Kanye did to what Rosa Parks did, but he also went into an enormous discussion about why blacks are treated so poorly in this country and how everything from the music industry, to TV, and prison are interconnected. He thinks prisons fund the country.
All in all, I got off the bus extremely frustrated because most of his points were moot and it pissed me off, but I didn't say anything and now I wish I would have.
I am not racist and don't disagree with a lot of the points he had, but come on, Rosa Parks to Kanye?

That MTV gave the award to the "little sister" of America and if Kanye didn't say anything now, it would never of changed. That they didn't give the award to Beyonce because she was black and MTV has always been that way.
He was also saying how he thinks the record industries are purposely signing crappy artists that talk about killing and stupid stuff because this is what makes the black community look bad and they are doing it on purpose.
The first one is stupid. They didn't give it to Beyonce because she was winning the best music video award anyway. I mean, ****, I'd argue that her video is far from one of the greatest of all time, but that's besides the point.
The second part is also silly, but less of a strech. If good music sold, the record industry would be focused on good music. They're worried about the bottom line and as long as people who have never heard of The Tipping Point are lining up to buy Chamillionare albums, the record industry will be filled with mostly sucky music that sells.

Gotm, you would've been a racist despite the fact that taylor swift's song had THE MOST radio circulation of the nominees and that her video blew up the charts as hard as beyonce you know why? Cuz ur the average white guy who has had it rly rly easy all his life. you never had to face unemployment, stereotyping or dealt with the cops(cuz obviously you are a mob member or the son of some rich CEO). Those guys had a hard life and know what life is all about so they are smart about life by default. If he didn't have them street smarts then he wouldn't have made that connection with rosa parks. Im not on his side. crappy black artist choose to be stupid and go along with the signing so its their fault honestly. If I could make a clown dance for me and make money of it I would too.
