i'll never forget this day........I was at holiday hill in 8th grade. played basketball ALLLLLL DAY.(im a heavy sweater when it comes to athletics) got 3rd in the 3v3 tourney(mutha fuggas from NYC beasted the tourney). Then all the cute girls stopped watching the tourney and wanted to get into the pool. I was hungry as hell but I said screw it cuz teh cuuute girls were swimmin. It had to be no more than 20min since busting my *** play ball for the big chunk of the day and I decided to get into the pool.....

I almost died.....literally

I was good at stroking and moving forward/backward but my fail was in the department of treading water. The girl i liked went with her BFF to the 12ft side naturally me and my boys raced there. Next thing you know I am having a charlie horse and I'm YELLING help, the cute girl and her friend were laughing as my body sunk further into the water. I just remember hearing their muffled laughs underwater. Next thing you know a life guard saves me, no mouth to mouth needed. I think I was too pissed to be unconscious but my legs were freakin killin me as I sat on the side of the pool. The life guard was just "stretch it out" and walked away. The girls laughed at my agony. F**k them *****es my crush was over. ultimately they couldve been laughing at my death

Dude, no lie, the same thing happened to me at Genesis. Ask Cactuar, I woke up in the middle of the night and just shouted "WHAT THE ****" and tried to move my leg and had a searing pain. My calf was all tense and looked like it was trying to bulge out of my leg. After the pain subsided I had to stretch it before I could walk on it.

I still have no idea what happened and it still kind of worries me.
It's a muscle spasm. I get them all the time :/, or used to.

A quick way to get rid of it is to push your foot down, like..exert pressure on your foot and therefore throughout your whole leg. It's scary but makes it go away in like 3 seconds.
Nah this was a straight muscle cramp.
It might be a side effect of the meds I've started taking in the past few weeks since it's happened only since then a couple times.

And to get rid of it (and pretty much any leg/foot cramp), just pinch the very middle tip of your upper lip (the part that goes down slightly) as hard as you can. It's some accupuncture **** or something but it's amazing.

that's scary, the two last posts are from 18 hours ago.

WTF CT THREAD!?!?!

hai guyz, i just moved. so...my basement is being fitted for awesome smash times, and likely future tournies. so that i can be teh smash director or some nonsense. anyway.

this is the area.

obviously some cleaning needs to be done as we're still unpacking. but i have the power strips/tables for 6-8 tvs. having somewhere between 3-5 tvs myself, and 2 melee setups. obviously people would have to bring more. but we could easily fit 20-30 people if not more. theres space for sleeping and such as well., more news on that later.

hope you all missed me way too much ^_^

=[ You were not at CTCon. SAD FACE MUCH?

Also: Alex! Yay! Where did you move to?

And sorry I haven't been spamming posting in the thread to keep it alive with my nonsense, I've been busying running through mostly indecipherable code in order to make Lucario teleport as Step 1 of his transforamtion into Mewtwo.

>_> Hacking Brawl is too much fun.

I love you Alex. I saw you while you were sleeping in your home lol.

I'm so excited for when Nick makes Lucario into Mewtwo.

Ugh, I have to do some research on the homebrew channel so I can learn to emulate ps1... oh yeah, apparently there's a beta version out for that now.

T_T I know it's not too difficult it's just you have experience fixing red rings so it was convenient.

I think Radiohead has been getting worse since Kid A.

Brookman's friend Jorge absolutely ***** me in Samurai Kirby a few weeks ago. So much for my reaction time.

Random Smash observations I've made recently:

You can dash backward directly out of your crouching animation ONLY if you do a perfect dash (i.e. no turning animation). You can't dash backward at all from your "standing up" (uncrouching) animation. None of this applies to dashing forward.

This means you can cancel your run with a crouch and then immediately dash in the other direction, which means you can go beyond the range of your initial dash and still be able to change directions at any time (think dash dancing). I've always known you could do this via wavedashing, but I think the latter creates unnecessary lag. I'll probably screw around with this if I play Brookman and the other Rocky Hill hoes this week. It might prove too delicate a maneuver to be consistent.

Speaking of consistency, I've been doing running usmashes with up and the C-stick for quite awhile now, but I've been messing it up enough lately that I don't think it's really worth the random extra frames you gain versus doing it with up and A. Maybe I really just need a new controller? Who knows.

Honestly, you need to either refine your tech skill to the point where you literally never mess up, or simplify your game to the point where you can't possibly mess up. Somewhere in the middle would probably be best. Either way, you have to be consistent.

I recently started to to refine my game to just doing the simple basic things and then work up to the middle ground.

Which is what PC does, he's really good at the basic part of the game and he does it really well so him messing up isn't an option. Which is why I think simplicity is the best way to start off in smash now. If I only I realized that when I first started instead of "omg I gotta be the most technical player in the world!"

Don't get me wrong; I think everybody should work on their tech skill. Being perfect can't possibly hurt you as long as you make sound decisions, but you need to be able to see the game (more specifically your opponent) completely unfiltered to play at a high level. This is obviously impossible if you have to devote some modicum of mental focus to yourself and your maneuvers in order to play your style.

Also, I've been thinking it might be worthwhile to start really practicing JC shines with Fox, mostly because you can't really follow up on shine OoS without it.

Has anybody ****ed around with pivot shines at all? I did like 6 in a row once then I couldn't do it at all anymore.

do u mean multi shining with alternating the direction you are facing?

or do u mean pivoting from a dash?

The second one.
i find that most of my pivot situations are best suited for grab or Upsmash. usually if my pivot is placed correctly theres like time enough for one or the other. I imagine shine being ridiculously fast however since its hitbox covers both sdies of fox/falco I feel like JC shining would be almost a perfect substitute in the situations that come to mind.(situations mostly pertaining to that of tech chasing and DD camping)

I'm not really asking because if I feel it's useful. Mostly just curious.

I think it would be funny to waveshine Marth across the stage with pivot shines.
