Is it just me, or does it feel like Nintendo's gone completely radio silent? Aside from Paper Mario, they haven't really said much of anything so far. By comparison, Sony and Microsoft have been talking about THEIR plans for a good while now. Granted, this could have something to do with... everything going on, but I'm starting to get concerned again.

It could be because of Covid but I honestly doubt it. I just think Nintendo really didnt have that much this year to begin with. This year looks to be 2018 all over again. I.e. nothing but ports/remakes and smaller games for the first half then probably only like one major holiday title.

Covid could have had a a part in it but how come almost every other publisher/developer can make announcements and do releases but Nintendo is the ONLY one where is like "Here's Clubhouse Games, Paper Mario, and a bunch of remakes/ports!" Im just going on patterns. 2017 was awesome, 2018 had Smash Bros...and... 2019 was pretty good, now 2020 looks to be another slow year. Not to mention covid has only been a major thing for like 5 months games take much longer than that to develop so if Nintendo really had something to show they would've had a January direct (when Covid was still in its infancy) and BOTW wouldnt have been the only new 1st party title announced at last years E3 all the way until Clubhouse Games in the last mini direct.

I'm currently playing a chapter of Sakura Wars on a daily basis as a way to kill time not just for more news but also IRL events I'm looking forward to.

It can be more tough to some people to find ways to kill this amount of time, but ways do exist for everyone.

I don't know how likely the DLC is to drop next week. Terry did launch close to Sword and Shield but it was about a week before IIRC. To me it's either this week which is a tad unlikely admittedly or the week after next which is a bit of a long wait but still doable

I have made worse waits in the past, so some extra weeks won't hurt me at all.
