Zagreus animations:

Intro: Zagreus falls from the sky, landing on the ground as fire flares up around his feet, similar to how he starts a run in Hades

Taunts:
1. Zagreus holds up a fish
2. Zagreus pulls out the lyre and plays a few notes; he's awful at it
3. Zagreus flicks his sword upwards in a sort of "bring it" motion.

Victory Poses:
1. Zagreus places his sword on his shoulder, like his stance on the game’s title screen.
2. he holds up a Pom of Power before taking a bite out of it
3. Cerberus growls at the camera before Zagreus walks on-screen. Cerberus’s demeanour immediately changes to being a big, friendly three-headed dog as Zagreus pets him.

3D game item:

Banana Peel (Octodad)

Banana peels - Octodad's oldest nemesis, and a classic slapstick gag. Stepping on one causes your character to slip and fall, doing minor damage and making them look really silly.

Resubmitting my old Tag mode.
Mode submission:
"Tag mode" (That's the name)

The mode is based on "Tag" game, where you tag random people while running across the area of the game and they need to chase you like in real life.
The game is about how much a player can tag opponents. If one of players has too much points it wins, but if it has less, it loses the battle by removing 25 points.
Speaking of tagged people, they instantly lose the while amount of points.

Baba music:

-Cog is Push (Baba is You)
-Crystal is Still (Baba is You)
-Box Has Key (Baba is You)
-Debussy: Preludes (Untitled Goose Game)
-Regurgitation Pumping Station (World of Goo)
-Downstream (Braid)

I'm not sure about my World of Goo song choice (I browsed through the soundtrack on Youtube), but as this is about indie puzzle games, I wanted to get music from that in here.

Hopefully it's okay that I used Braid music, even though Braid isn't represented in the current line-up. (unless I missed something)

Red Super Moves
  • Telebird: Red dons the helmet of the Telebird as he is able to aim a reticle in a fixed radius around himself. He can then teleport to this reticle, creating a high-damage energy explosion.
  • Heroic Strike: Red takes out a sword and dashes forwards, dealing major damage and knockback to opponents he hits on the way.
  • Mighty Eagle: Red drops a can of sardines on the ground. After a few seconds, the sky darkens as the Mighty Eagle swoops towards the sardines, dealing ludicrous amounts of damage and knockback to opponents in his path.
Mode: Resubmitting Treasure Tussle.
Inspired by Shovel Knight and the coin mode from Smash, this mode has various gems and treasure drop from fighters upon taking damage. Touching treasure will cause it to be added to your Gold tally. Being KO'd will cause a good chunk of your Gold to fly out in a winged bag, allowing anyone to steal it for themselves. Be sure to snatch as many riches as you can, as whoever has the most at the end of the match wins!

I have some ideas for Isaac's moveset, though I'm not sure whether to go with something complicated or straightforward. For the sake of not making this post absurdly long, I'll go with the straightforward version. (my complicated version was having his Down Special be the D6 item, which would allow a player to change his special moves once per life, with what you get depending on the dice roll - I figured that having his entire special move line-up being based on randomness wouldn't be fun, especially if you roll multiple 1s in a row)

Neutral Special: Bomb. Isaac sets down a bomb, which flashes for a short time before exploding. (I'm assuming that his tears would be his neutral and forward attack, like Mega Man's Mega Buster in Smash)

Forward Special: Aries. Growing ram horns on his head, Isaac charges forward to headbutt whoever he runs into. The special button can be held to keep it going for longer, though he can very easily send himself flying off of the stage.

Back Special: Shoop Da Woop! He's a-firin' his lazer! BLLLARRRGGG! (it's an old meme, but it's in the game, and I wanted to include him shooting a laser somewhere. The recoil knocks Isaac backwards. Not sure if the face would be an issue, but if so, it could be changed to Brimstone or Trisagion, which have similar effects)

Up Special: Angelic Wings. Growing the wings from the boss fight against Isaac, he rockets straight into the air, though he goes into a freefall afterwards.

Down Special: Buddy Chest. Isaac rummages through a treasure chest before pulling out a randomly-selected Buddy, which attacks before exploding.
-Robo-Baby: shoots a very thin laser straight ahead
-Little Gish: fires slowing tears (roughly five or so? Not sure what would be balanced)
-Lil Loki: fires three sets of tears in a cross-shaped pattern
-Seraphim: fires homing tears
-Lil Monstro: charges up and then fires clusters of tears in all directions
-Lil Haunt: chases the nearest enemy, latching onto them

Guard: Isaac curls up into a ball on the floor, crying. Meanwhile, the Big Fan orbits around him slowly, blocking any enemy shots that hit it and dealing damage if it touches someone.

Impostor Super Moves
  1. Mutate: Kind of a more derivative ability, the Impostor mutates into a more threatening form, growing in size and gaining a toothy mouth along its torso. While in this mutated state, the Impostor is stronger and heavier. However, it only lasts for a short while before the Impostor reverts back to its Crewmate disguise.
  2. Clear Asteroids: The Impostor dons a visor as an aiming reticle appears, which the player can move around to fire powerful lasers at opponents.
  3. Emergency Meeting: The Impostor hits a button which randomly appears in front of it. This causes all players to be teleported to the Impostor's location, alongside a few Crewmates. The Impostor is then given a few seconds to choose an opponent to eject, prompting all the Crewmates to gather around the chosen opponent and drag them off towards the nearest ledge, where they will be chucked off with great force and distance, making it very tricky to recover (and unlike the Impostor's similar command grab, you cannot mash out of this one). As for the non-chosen opponents, they are launched forwards a fixed distance.

Nobody submitted anything for Cadence's moveset, so we'll have to take care of that today. Before that, though, I have an exciting announcement - The Google Doc is back in action, now new and improved! Please take a look and give feedback if you have any!
----
Job 138 (cont.): Submit a moveset for Cadence!

Job 139: Submit music for Slap Arena!

Submit six music tracks from indie platfighters to appear on the Slap Arena stage! You may reuse up to two songs from the Duel Grounds stage if you please, but music from Smash fangames is forbidden for Slap Arena, even if it's an entirely new track.

Also, since there was some confusion about it last time, I'd like to clarify that music from otherwise unrepresented games is allowed for stages!

Job 140: Submit cards for Skullgirls!
Submit three characters from Skullgirls to appear as a card. Peacock, Big Band, and Marie are all cards by default.

Now, you may have noticed I skipped Antonball. We'll get to that series' cards soon enough, but something else regarding it takes priority here.

Job 141: Should we update Anton to account for Antonblast content?
With the advent of Antonblast being announced and a demo for it being available, I've been on the fence about retooling Anton to incorporate elements from said game. If we go through with this rework, his Antonblast design will be his main costume (his Antonball design could be an alt), and his moveset/alts/animations will recieve new jobs to update him as contributors see fit.

It'd be a fun time, but I want to know what you think. Please vote here!

Submissions/voting close tomorrow afternoon!

For Cadence's specials, I'll mainly be drawing from the game's list of spells; I'm assuming that weapons would be used for basic attacks, though I might throw some in.

Cadence moveset:

Neutral Special:
Harp. Cadence strums on a harp, creating a circular soundwave around her that deals damage.

Forward Special: Fireball. Cadence shoots a fireball directly ahead.

Back Special: Spike Trap. Cadence leaps backwards, narrowly avoiding a spike trap that activates where she was standing. The trap stays active for a few moments, damaging whoever touches it.

Up Special: Boots of Leaping. Cadence's boots turn green, and she charges up before leaping high into the air, headbutting whoever's above her. Like Fire Fox, this can be aimed, to make up for her side specials not working well for recovery.

Down Special: Freeze. Cadence places a hand on the ground, causing the area around her to pulse blue. If anyone's on the ground within that area, they're frozen temporarily.

Guard: Earth. Dirt tiles form on either side of her, blocking an attack before being destroyed.

Red Animations
  • Entrance
    • A fortress is seen, housing a Minion Pig. Red crashes into the fortress, reducing it to rubble and popping the pig as Red enters his battle stance.
  • Taunts
    • Red clenches his teeth and growls.
    • Red pulls out an egg and kisses it before warily looking around, as if looking for potential pigs. Once the coast is clear, he puts the egg away.
    • Red glares at a fly which starts buzzing around him, a small nod to the Angry Birds Cinematic Trailer.
  • Victory Animations
    • A Minion Pig is seen laughing before Red slams into it, popping it.
    • Red (as well as the other birds seen in his moveset), gather around the eggs, essentially recreating promotional art for Angry Birds Toons.
    • Red looks over his head as three stars appear above it, with Red cheering upon seeing the third star.
Impostor Animations
  • Entrance
    • The Impostor is beamed into a chair, standing up from it as it vanishes.
  • Taunts
    • The Impostor shushes the camera.
    • The Impostor turns slightly to the camera as a red glow is emitted from its visor (referencing the Sabotage art).
    • The Impostor attempts to do the infamous Swipe Card task, naturally failing.
  • Victory Animations
    • The Impostor is seen walking away from an unidentifiable body, jumping into a vent. When the results screen appears, one can see that one of the Impostor's opponents is suspiciously absent...
    • The Impostor just stands there... menacingly. This references the victory "animation" from Among Us.
    • A group of Crewmates is seen walking by the camera and past the Impostor. The Imposter then shushes the camera and goes to follow them.

Antagonist Assist: Spamton (Deltarune)

It's everyone's favorite [Number one rated salesman 1997], here to help you become a [BIG SHOT]!

In all seriousness, though, even though Deltarune's far from complete, I feel like its impact has been big enough to warrant one of its characters making a physical appearance. As such, here's Spamton!

As a Companion Card, though, Spamton wouldn't be doing a whole lot of fighting, staying in his normal form as opposed to Spamton NEO. Rather, he's here to make deals! He will aimlessly wander the battlefield, but if he sees a potential customer (read: an opponent), he'll head their way, ready to make an offer! Coming in contact with Spamton will cause you to make a deal with him, dealing a passive 20% without any knockback or additional effects. After either wandering around for long enough or being KO'd, Spamton will take his leave, but not before giving you a cut of his profits - 10% will be healed to you for every deal Spamton was able to make during his run!

Now, why Spamton and not someone like Kris? Well, the answer's simple, really - It's because [Hyperlink Blocked].

I didnt included music from Skullgirls since I think it would be cooler have a stage of the franchise.

Assist: Gatling Gull (Enter the Gungeon)
The Gatling Gull would appear and use a minigun to attack the opponents appart of Launch explosive eggs from his mouth, if you defeat him you will obtain a random ítem.

Does Minecraft still count as an indie game? (we've got Cuphead in here, and that has ties to Microsoft, though to my knowledge, it's not outright owned by Microsoft) If so...

Creeper (Minecraft)

One of the enemies from Minecraft, the Creeper is immediately recognizable, and its hiss brings dread to those who have travelled a great distance from their spawn point and aren't entirely sure how to get from there to where they currently are.

Much like in Minecraft, the Creeper wanders around slowly upon being summoned. If it gets close enough to someone, or enough time has passed, it flashes white before exploding.

If it's not eligible, I'll think of something else.

This may be a bit of a controversial take, but yes, Minecraft still counts! Even though it's not an indie game anymore, technically speaking, it was THE indie game up until the Mojang buyout, so if there's any series that deserves to break the rule, it's Minecraft (now don't get any wild ideas, I think MC content should be kept to a minimum to put focus on current indies). Besides, we set up that "they must have originated as indie, but don't necessarily have to be indie now" rule in stone with Octane's inclusion.

Enemy Companion Card: Mr. Glitch(There is No Game)

Though he plans to do...something to the world, He decides to become an assist for the fun of it. When summoned, Mr. Glitch will fly around and latch on the opponent, draining them similar to Metroid. However, there's also an added side effect(Getting bigger/smaller or reversing your controls) as your character glitches out

Buddy: Little Princess (Guardian Tales)

If mobile games are indies, then I submit this one, the Little Princess is basically the mascot of the game, she will jump and make a small dance moving her arms when you taunt and it would look sad when you are killed.

Springtrap Moveset
Here's a character I know I can do! Springtrap is a fighter based around instilling fear in opponents. With a potent kill move and a lot of trapping options to keep opponents dreading his next move, Springtrap proves to be a deadly force in the right hands.
  • Neutral Special: Jumpscare
    • Springtrap rears back before stepping forwards and roaring, creating a sound wave in front of himself which deals low damage, but HIGH knockback. Despite its lengthy start-up and high dedication, it's Springtrap's most potent kill move, and a lot of his moves are designed to make it easier for him to land it.
  • Forward Special: Happiest Day
    • Springtrap swings a spare animatronic head forwards. If he manages to hit an opponent with the head, it'll get stuck on their head before Springtrap kicks them away. The move doesn't end there, though - While the opponent is wearing a spare head, their mobility becomes nerfed. In addition, using Happiest Day while an opponent is wearing the head will cause the springlocks inside it to go off, causing them to take multiple hits of damage before being launched, interrupting whatever they were doing. If timed right, Springtrap can defend himself from dangerous attacks by cancelling them with the move.
  • Back Special: System Error
    • Springtrap's eyes quickly flash red as a beam of light is emitted from them. Opponents caught in the light take no apparent damage/knockback, but they will be unable to use any of their specials for a few seconds after being hit.
  • Up Special: Behind the Static
    • Springtrap disappears in a burst of static, being able to reappear in one of eight directions before entering freefall. It doesn't take him very far, though.
  • Down Special: Phantom Trap
    • Springtrap's eyes flash white... and at first, that's all the move does. However, once an opponent approaches the spot where Springtrap activated the move, a murky portal appears on the ground before a phantom animatronic lunges out of it and screams, putting the opponent in a dazed state, allowing Springtrap to approach them and do whatever he pleases.
    • That's not all, though. If Springtrap uses the Down Special again while the trap has been set, he will teleport to that location, disarming the trap in the process. This can even be done after the portal appears (but not before the phantom animatronic attacks), giving opponents a deadly surprise.
    • However, Springtrap must wait thirty seconds between activating a trap (either through the phantom's attack or by teleporting to it) and summoning a new one.
  • Guard: Spring Lock
    • Springtrap stands rigidly, not moving a muscle. While in this state, Springtrap cannot be launched at all (although he still takes damage, status effects can still effect him), making this a great way to soak up some moves that would otherwise KO him. However, Springtrap cannot move at all while guarding, and taking too much damage while spring locked will cause Springtrap to take major damage and become stunned for a few seconds, making it all the easier to finish him off.
Buddy 1: Helpy (Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator)

The objectively best FNaF character. When the player taunts, Helpy does a little dance.

Buddy 2: Flappy Bird

Flappy Bird follows the player around by "flying" through the air, mimicking its movement in its original game. When the player taunts, Flappy falls to the ground before getting back up.

Celeste Cards
  • Theo
  • Granny
  • Mr. Oshiro
A Hat in Time Cards
  • DJ Grooves
  • The Conductor
  • Mustache Girl

Not gonna veto this submission yet, but I'm not 100% sure if Guardian Tales is indie or not. I can't really find any source which deems it as such. If anyone has any other insight/opinions, please let me know.

Okay, so I wish I'd known this earlier - but according to the directory of the entire Dutch video game industry (???), Team Reptile are considered indie? (I'll link the site right here for you to check out, so feel free to tell me if it's inelegible.)

With that in mind, though, I felt it'd be fun to include at least something of theirs, so I went with this for Job #148:

Buddy Name: The Ball
Buddy Origin: Lethal League (2014)
ball.png

The main focus that the eponymous Lethal League is based around, the ball seen here is more of a combination of the appearance of the ball in-game and that seen on marketing and the like. As it happens, the ball itself (despite not having a name) is notable for being Zero-G - allowing it to float freely, and in this case, follow characters it's equipped to. When the player in question does a taunt, the Ball will start to bounce at high speeds around them - despite not hitting anyone, it's intended to look and feel just as chaotic as the gameplay of Lethal League in a good way.

When the player in question does a taunt, the Ball will start to bounce at high speeds around them - despite not hitting anyone, it's intended to look and feel just as chaotic as the gameplay of Lethal League in a good way.
Wikipedia flatout says Lethal League is an indie title, so this is definetly allowed!
