how come the extra fresh league never has brawl anymore? and the cutthroat will have only tournaments once a month maybe longer! and the anime conventions one usually suck. Nobody shows up for the smashfests so why bother going to those.

I just wish the extra fresh league will include brawl once in awhile to their blazblue tournaments and stuff like that and not leave it completely out!

EFL won't do Brawl unless we bring our own equipment. Can't blame them. They had a team tourney that had all of zero entrnts.

Smashfests get pretty good attendance. You should come to them soz I can play you and tell you what habits you need to watch out for.

Also, never become a C3 sponsored player for C3 events. They take 25% of your winnings if you let them pay for you. Good if you go OoS, bad otherwise.

Completely off topic: People who like reading, if you read a series of books, do you prefer the series start with the main character's childhood, or do you like it getting the backstory over time in flashbacks?

Completely off topic: People who like reading, if you read a series of books, do you prefer the series start with the main character's childhood, or do you like it getting the backstory over time in flashbacks?

If I read a series I prefer it to have pictures.

But seriously, The Foundation Series (my favorite of all time) didn't necessarily have a main character until the later books (or perhaps one could consider the human race itself as the main character?) and it's still considered one of (if not the) best series of all time, and it was never even finished!

Harry Potter was entertaining, where you knew nothing of the boy's past until it unfolded. But then again Lord of the Rings was awesome and honestly, you don't even really learn much about Frodo except that which you learn about his adventure.

I guess my answer is that I prefer a series have characters or a world that one can be entertained with.

Both are nice in different ways. I tend to like the backstory to come over time though. It makes the read a bit more interesting.

Thank you Dekar, for that rant that did not answer my question at all. Let me rephrase it then: If you were reading a series with decent characterization and an interesting world, which was focused on a main character, would you prefer it start from the beginning and you go through the entire thing with him/her/it, or do you enjoy gaining understanding of the character through flashbacks as time goes on?

I like the story to start and you learn it all as it happens. I hate flashbacks, it makes me feel like I have ADHD, which I get enough of when I'm trying to do homework. My favorite book of all time is Childhood's End, though.
