So I've been playing pokemon white until earlier today, which is probably going to be the last time in a while. I usually play on my old clunky DS. Why? Because the bottom left corner of the touch screen on my DS Lite is dead. As in it doesn't work, so you can't hit any icons or menu buttons if they are located there. I tell people that when they ask me why the hell I'm using the gargantuan proto-DS and not my pretty blue DS Lite.
I repair DS's. Give it to me along with $30 so I can buy you a new screen and repair it.

Last night I was playing DS and eating hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls when I accidentally dropped the end of my DS charger into my catsup. Naturally, I had to resort to my DS lite with the ****ty touch screen. I didn't see the touch screen as an issue though because I don't play pokemon with the touch screen (who does, seriously). I was wrong.

I hadn't saved in about 3 hours and I went into the pokemon theatre by mistake. There, it forced me into a tutorial screen which shows you how to put bows and top hats on your pokemon for the mother-****ing musical. No big deal, I thought. I'll just do this and then get back to battling. (While secretly excited at seeing a pokemon musical.)

I tried to progress through the menu to get on with the musical, but then to my horror I realized you can't navigate the menu with the buttons. I had to use the touch screen. And the only button you could press to get to the next screen was on the BOTTOM LEFT CORNER OF THE TOUCH SCREEN. And there's no option for backing out.

So right now I have my DS closed on sleep mode, hoping that I'll somehow find a way to not have to turn it off and go through the entirety of Route 4 and a desert resort again. If anyone has an idea of how to help me, I would greatly appreciate it. That is all.
And unfortunately, I have no idea how to help :(

That really blows bro...

I think I could keep playing stuff If I really wanted... but I just wouldn't want to dedicate that fraction of my free time. But I'll still play brawl because I don't have any techskill to keep up with or anything.

I actually might do computer science. Not sure tho.

Thanks for the offer Z. I'll let you know if I ever have the extra cash.

And yeah... Back to Bullet Storm.

Good idea to put it on sleep mode instead of rage quitting and turning it off, kudos. :o

My advice would be to press more buttons. Specifically, try pressing different combinations of buttons, two at the same time. Go through all of them, even the L/R buttons. If that doesn't work, the only other thing you could try is to press HARD down on the dead corner of your DS with your pen and see if it picks the interaction up then.

If those don't work, there may still be hope (like some touch screen/button press combination) that you could do that may be programmed into the DS in case you can't touch the lower screen, but you would need to ask for help on a DS support forum for that. If the official DS support forum gets you no replies (but go there first anyway http://techforums.nintendo.com/community/ds_tech ), then you can also ask here where it is never dead and will always have at least one person answer your question: http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f142/ )

Best of luck to you and I hope you don't have to restart. ><

:/

I do not know whether to like this or not.
Spoilers: That's with every major. I just find it a bit more prevalent with myself out of all my friends, and I'm the only coder.

It's not that bad when you only have one class. I decided to be dumb and have 4 coding classes this semester, so I can look forward to a sleepless night each night from Tuesday to Wednesday.

IDK how many coding classes per semester I'd have as a comp sci major :I

Just as much as me. I'm trying to graduate early, so I overloaded myself.

Kinda regretting it.
:S

well if I find I enjoy that type of stuff during my first year I'll do it.

It can't be too bad staying up all night for it if it's at least somewhat fun to you I figure.

That sounds strangely satisfying because it's like it's true.

Yeah, I'm the exact opposite there. I'll be taking part time classes my first semester, so I will have to graduate late. x.x It's a sad either or.

It's really not fun coding it when things are breaking and you spend 400% more time debugging it.

The fun is when there's a miracle and it fixes and you all of a sudden understand why it works.

programming is like math took a hatchet to english, then glued the chopped up parts onto its own body.
Unfortunately, it's true.

But for someone who reads and writes at a 4th grade level, it makes plenty of sense to me.

It's ok. I should have graduated last year. But I ****ed up my first 3 years with games and the first semester of the 4th because I didn't try. This is my 5th year in college, and I'm a Junior.

I wasted more than $100,000 in education because of it. It's time to kick it into high gear.

Oh wow. x_x That sounds crazy. I did a similar thing in high school as a freshman, I watched anime all the time in a certain class and legit failed the first quarter, but once I realized what I was doing, I kicked it into high gear and made an A/B in the other semesters (I think a C in the last one, but w/e).

Good luck in college though. o.o Hopefully you can graduate asap. Also, I'll most likely be coming up there for my last two years of college.

You should've left what it said and just edited under it that it wasn't you.

I want to know what they typed!

If you shield and then immediately hit diagonally up and away with the cstick you do a pivot grab out of shield.
I tried this out, but couldn't get it to work. The only inputs are shield and c-stick (in the up and away direction) right? And does this only work when u first shield, or could you have been holding shield for a while?

...You need to dash first.

and it has to be at the same time or immediately after you shield.

Just got the game, skipped my favorite Art History class to play. Saving a bit into Route 2.

Overall, not entirely impressed. Not gonna lie though, the little musical controls in the first town above the Pokemon center made me laugh, and the "first step" with Bianca warmed my frigid frigid heart.

I'm also doing a Nuzlocke. Must nickname, must release on faint, and must capture first Pokemon on each route. Though I'll probably do some switching around once the cool Pokemon appear.

Tepig ♂ (Tag) Lvl. 10
Lillipup ♀ (Trig) Lvl. 5

Now Deceased
Patrat ♀ (Rosie) Lvl. 2

I named her in honor of my old pet hamster, who my little three-year-old brother killed by drowning in a fish tank.

Trig immediate kills her with a tackle.

:( Taken too soon. ...though I don't miss the irony.
Actually, scratch that. I'm excited to go back to the game. I miss my Tepig.

Spelt you trippin! Otters arn't as cool as samurai otters.
Sorta like...
Like teenage mutant ninja turtle! If they wern't ninja it wouldn't be even half as cool!
Its like they went "Hey ya know whats adorable? Otters! And ya know whats awesome? Samurais!"

Thats how the most adorable/awesome pokemon was made.

EDIT:

Oh man.
Im really sorry for asking this, but do any of ya'll know much about geometry and algerbra? The CSAP test are coming up. Its just one particular kinda question that appears alot on the test and I can't figure out what the formula is for it.

Its like they'll give you the angle of one side of a triangle then the length of another and make ya figure out the last angle or side.

I just need to know how the heck ya do that. Im sorry for asking but I seriously need some help here doods. ._.

It doesn't matter, it's CSAP. Just draw dumb pictures in the answer bubbles like i always do. The schools are the only ones that suffer, which they deserve for making people wake up at 7 to take 4 hours worth of tests that don't even count against your grade.

I got advanced on every single CSAP and I just BS'd my way through all of them.

Also Sunny, I think you're talking about the sine, cosine, and tangent stuff.

I used to know that, but I forgot it because it's useless.

All you can do from here is google that.

Actually good CSAP scores look really good when applying for colleges.
My thoughs exactly man~! :D Me and my bestest buddy and his sweet heart are planning on moving in together in college. Problem is hes going into a really good college. He has one of those strict Asian moms ya know? The ones that ground ya if ya get a B on something. So yea, im trying to step my grades up and get serious so I can move in with him~!

Im definitly not the smartest guy in the world, but im gonna do it for him~! <3

Psssshhh I doubt ya BS'd your way threw it man. xD Naaah don't be so modest zajjy~! <3 You probably got the brains to back it up. =p

Yea thats the stuff though broski~! SOHCAHTAO~! It's reallllly useless for me. I mean the only use of it is to calculate the distance of stars from earth. They go "Well this star was over here 10 minutes ago, and the earth moved this much so this star is this distance away." Thats cool and all FOR THOSE PEOPLE, but normal star gazers ain't gonna be doing this stuff. .___. Oh well thats school.

Im gonna google search some more and hopefully find an explanation that isn't totally impossible to understand.

Oshawott is the absolute worst Pokemon design since Chimchar.

@Sunny

Not that this is gonna be of any help or anything, but Geometry was always the only math that I found understandable and applicable. I actually used it for some art projects last year (my calculations actually ended up off, but I came up with distorted perspective!, which is much cooler than perfect perspective anyway).

Try this thread: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=113366

I vaguely, and probably incorrectly, remember that the angles in a triangle always end up to be 180 degrees, so if you have two angles, you can subtract to discover the third. If you only have one angle and one side, you should be able to convert that side into an angle... somehow.

...I think.

I recommend the thread above.

It's when you know one angle, then have the length of one side.

He was dead on with the soh-cah-toa thing. I just don't remember how to do it. I know you need a calculator though.

Its really stupid.
I think your right about the calc thing though. I get all the steps until it makes you plug in soh-cah-tao. You need certain fields that are already given to you to figure out what it is. Too walmart to get a calculator I guess. .___.

OOoh and thanks meno~! Thats exactly what I needed~! Yea ya gotta convert the angle to a length, but I have no fricken clue how. Every explanation I find is too mathy for me to take in. Thanks blooper bro~! =w=

And oshawott reminds me of icecream. I wanna eat him~! Dewotts still adorable/awesome~! <3
