I said I hate the way people play brawl. I guess its understandable.

I hate the way the game is played in general. I dont hate the game itself It has moments where it can be fun.

so....now that Brawl is no longer part of MLG I find it less convincing to use the MLG ruleset. Are there any particular rulesets that people would like to use for the Duke Biweeklies. It seems that BBR is no longer putting out a ruleset and are instead supporting a community effort for a unified ruleset. However, the last time I checked that ruleset hadn't got past the stage list. So, until then, what ruleset would be good. Keep MLG? Pound? the old BBR? our own NC one? need to know soon.

I was thinking Pound also. If there is no disagreement, I'm pretty sure I'm going to use it.

oh, and at the next biweekly, do people want low-tiers, brawl+, brawl-, or project m? I really would like to do low tier doubles eventually :(

my opinion is that low-tiers is more competitive than the other 3. the other 3 are basically different games and are taken more casually (really......who actually practices those); however, if people are tired of low-tiers and would rather have one of those, then I can oblige........ begrudgingly albeit

sry.....double post.

I would offer rides more often for west NC but it's really expensive. And few people can afford/are willing to cover my gas. Back and forth....twice......adds up to between $50-$70. :( I would love to bring people to thse but as it is, it's too expensive and most people are unwilling to pay $15-$20 in gas + door fee+ entry fee (in total....up to $32-$42 weekend, depending on whether they enter 3 or 4 events).

I mean at the last tourney I asked foxy for his opinion of what makes PS2 competitive and he explained to me that nintendo got lazy and just ported over the stages from melee without adjusting them to character differences in the 2 games (i.e. characters in this game have far more polygons than ones from melee which results in them be proportionately larger; and so the stages appear to be really small). He said it really isn't competitive but it is one of those stages that melee players had a strong feeling for and that's the reason its still on the stage list (for the old melee players who moved to brawl).

My issue with that stage is less to do with the size and more to do that 2 of the stage switches almost always stop all fighting. Like I understand that timing out is considered an acceptable way to win but at the same time, one should not be awarded a W for winning by exploiting the uncompetitive nature of a stage.

So right now it seems more people want PS2 banned. I am still undecided. It seems like removing PS2 basically makes this look like a NC only ruleset (even a minor change is still significant enough to do that in my eyes). And I'm pretty sure ps2 is on the unified stage list so it would only be temporary and would cause people to get ****ed by that stage once it started getting used again. Still undecided. But I think I'm leaning in keeping it. I want to get rid of it but I don't know if that would be the right thing to do.

People That Complain about PS2 totally bypass other stages gay features

The worst transformation.(depending on where you start on the transformation) is probably the rock one

yes nobody fights there but the same could be said aobut the Fire and Rock one of PS1 yet it is legal

The Ice is easily manageable if you just short hop.

the air one can give some characters advantages but remember that it is only a transformation and that it does not last forever.

The Electric one can also be seen as annoying but that is just learning how to deal wiht the stage

picto chat as a function similar to the electric one which is when the man is blowing wind to one side of the screen...yet nobody ever complains about picto chat nearly as much as they do about PS2

I don't find PS2 to be a neutral but it is definitely a solid counterpick...it serves it purpose as a level people will pick if they know how to play on it to give their character an advantage

ps 2 needs to be off. It is very broken for characters who have standard recoveries. ( like fox, diddy, lucario ect) sometimes even if your aim is perfect the characters won't grab the ledge and will simply fall to their doom. Also almost every stage change makes it difficult to fight campy characters. I say leave it off.

my feelings exactly. That stage ****s up so many recoveries (I find it safer to just land on stage.....although that means you eat lots of damage recovering); however, with all the trolls around, I, myself, was too afraid to mention recoveries because I'm sure there's going to be at least a few people saying you are whining about bad recoveries. And I would even say that the stage is built for campy characters. Rather, it is good for characters who get a lead and then have one broken move who position themself in an area where they are unapproachable when they spam that move (take for instance metaknight on the far left when the hill rises. You would have to come down on him and he can just sit there for a minute doing rising and falling upairs. The stage is excellent for time-outs for characters who can position themself well.

Still, I am not sure if all of this justifies taking it off. I hate the stage but I don't think it would be right to take it off.

duo I have never seen a diddy or lucario ever have trouble recovering on PS2

and for whatever reason I Feel like you havent even set foot on that stage...because if thats you but defense for that

Did you forget about PS1 almost known existent ledge?
Did you forget about the Lip on FD
Did you forget about Lylat...

come harder then that bro...if you guys are going to turn it off present some evidence that its not fit for Competitive play...but somehow pictochat is...

and stop being selfish thinkin only about your character...yea sure you threw in 2 more characters but that was just you trying to mask fox...lucario and diddy don't have anymore of a problem getting the ledge on PS2 then they have on SV or BF
