Cactus said 35/65 against a defensive sheik, but the matchup is closer if sheik actually approaches. If sheik approaches its more or less 45/55 sheik.

I think that is overrated personally. Ken did so well in that matchup there is no way that its that bad.
I agree. I feel that it's completely within reason to expect yourself to beat Sheiks. It's just a matchup that takes a ton of practice so that you know exactly what to do in every situation.

Im gonna be playing marth vs the next sheik i meet in tournament (assuming i ever make it to another V__V). I have some ideas about the match-up, but i want to prove them before i make a post about it.

hold behind her and press b. this will get you out of just about everything she can combo you with out of a grab. Basically she will get 1 hit (tilt or aerial). Idk if it gets you away from the usmash, but one can hope.

My ideas on the match-up is just to be really patient, basically... lol

I have a question concerning the falcon match-up. When I face falcons sometimes Ill take his down air meteor smash when I am sweet spotting a ledge (with Up B) and I wont be able to use my Up B again before I die. Ive tested this a few times and neither him nor I could recover after being meteor smashed from falcons down air after using Dolphin Slash once. I know meteor smashes can be canceled several times consecutively and this is why I am confused. If anyone could let me know if I am wrong about not being able to cancel it please let me know why. I have theories about maybe a cooldown time before being able to Dolphin Slash again or it might just need different timing than I am used to. If someone could look in to this I'd appreciate it so much. :D

no you just have to time it correctly.

You can't hold up. You must return the control stick to neutral or to the side.

You can't attempt a meteor cancel during hitlag, it will cause you to not be able to meteor cancel for another 60 frames (1 second, aka death)

Meteor canceling takes some practice, but once you get it down its not too hard to come back anytime they use a meteor on you (even ganon's)

This is probably what you are doing. Its what i do alot and i don't realize thanks for reminding me sveet :)

I believe you are considered holding the edge for the entire animation, except for ledge jumps... where it stops as soon as you're airborne basically.

Ah this... like Dart was probbably my problem as well. I'll have to test it and get back to you.

I only dont know the answer because I too, like Sveet, was not summoned :laugh:

i'm not sure what you mean about moving backwards after a dash attack... give me a scenario and i'll tell you.

I answered that question awhile ago tai.

Lovage asked about it. The mechanics of marth's dash attack naturally goes back unless you are PRESSING forward after the dash attack. If you let go, and try to jump, marth will sh slightly back.
