Thanks for the information
. Yea, the one that messes with his shoulder pads I think is like a shine spot on it. I made mine all yellow o-O.
And the weird metallic like texture I thought might have to do with when he goes to teleport he has a blurred effect, it kinda reminds me of heat waves. But Changing the color to bright green didn't do anything at all, so i don't know >_<.
The shading underneath the mask MIGHT be why my Meta Knight is missing an eye xD. I dunno I'll have to look into that.
Thanks a bunch! :D
No problem with the info.
As for him missing 1 eye... that's a +2 thing. Hopefully you're ASH-ing him.
If this is the case... some +2 textures (such as Meta Knight's eye) require some
other necessary steps. You need to apply the color magenta to his texture file to make certain parts of it transparent.
So... from the beginning... (Trust me, it's not as bad as it looks... I just like to talk. :3 )
-Naturally, open Meta Knight's +2 eye file.
-Check the Index to see how many colors it is (so not to exceed when Indexing it later yourself). I believe it's 113, or close to that.
-Edit Meta Knight's eye to your liking.
~Now for the part where you might be missing out on.~
-If using Photoshop, select Meta Knight's eye with the Selection tool.
-Right-click inside the selection, "Inverse selection" (or something like that, where it deselects the eye and selects everything else around it instead).
-INDEX... Make sure Index is at least 2 or so away from original index (or lower, if you prefer).
-Go to Image -> Mode -> Color Table (located somewhere beneath the Index box).
-There should be a bunch of rows with boxes of colors, and at the end boxes with no colors. Click on one of those colorless boxes.
-Fill that box with MAGENTA (or ff00ff, or R: 255; G: 0; B: 255, whatever route works
).
-"OK".
-Manually select the color Magenta (ff00ff) and fill the selection AROUND Meta Knight's edited eye with the magenta coloring. Preferably with a Brush tool, or Pencil tool.
-Save your file, of course.
That SHOULD work. To sum it, all you're doing is filling in the excess black area around Meta Knight's eye with Magenta. It will go transparent... and he will have two eyes.
Hope that works out for you.
Does anyone have a list of all the files that absolutely need to be in my folder to properly run ASH? It keeps telling me in Step 1 a few times that it can't find certain files or certain files already exist when I try to extract a .pac file. All the files are in the appropriate folders in .tga format and I can edit them. But in Step 2 there isn't anyway to create my new .pac and .pcs files.
I believe there's the "readme" file included with the ASH program... either in TXT or HTML format, I forget which. It notes what is needed.
Well, when I use ash with the files in the Original Textures link, just modified, I have all of the correct folder names, but it says "No Alpha Layer". WTF?!
Hmm. Are you using another texture-editing program, such as GIMP? GIMP I believe deletes Alpha Layers... I'd highly recommend Photoshop, if you're not already using it.
Now, if you're using Photoshop... make sure you aren't accidentally Indexing non-palette textures (as in, do NOT Index anything that doesn't have +1 or +2 after it in the file name).
Other than that... I have no clue what could be the problem.
