BISB 2 - Brawl Is Serious Business 2

GENERAL INFORMATION

BISB is back again, this time around featuring a second game, Blazblue. The amphitheater was unavailable this time around, so instead we got 4classrooms with 4 TVS and plenty of space. This tournament will also feature a Blazblue Singles event on the ps3, so bring your controllers/joysticks!

AIB tournament page : http://allisbrawl.com/ttournament.aspx?id=7430
Link to stream: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/swordgard

Date: Saturday, October 17th, 2009
Time: 8:00 AM to 10:30 PM
Location: Champlain College Room A-113, A-115, A-117, A-119
900 Riverside Drive, St-Lambert, Quebec. (South Shore)

Walking distance from Longueuil Metro.
http://www.mapquest.com/mq/3-1No1rHN2

As you exit the metro you will be at one end of the bus station, you want to go to the other end’s exit and go through it. For reference, you will have passed a Tim Horton’s, a Subway and other restaurants and when you get outside, you will be at a cross light. Cross at the cross light and from here, follow the path to your right all the way to under and past the bridge (the path that has cement blockers along it). You will have to cross a bus path once and two streets on this path and eventually you will come to a parking lot. From here, just continue through the parking lot until you reach the building at the end, which is essentially Champlain Regional College.

Venue rules

Please try to spread as we have 4 classrooms and considering the amount of people it can get really hot if everyone stays in one room. Also, we have to watch out not to blow any fuse.

Since we do not want an epidemic of swine flu or just flu in general, please use the Purell bottles which will be available in each room. Also please wash your hands after going to the bathroom.

Wifi is available, if you need it go ask a TO for the wireless keys.

The following will be available: Hackless version of brawl +, hackless version of infinite replay, lastest version of b+ using codes or using snapshots.

Please put your waste in the waste basket and clean any mess you make.

Please bring deodorant

General rules:

  • 3 Stock
  • 8 minute timer
  • Items are set to "off" and "none"
  • In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors
  • Each set is best of 3 save for Winners, Losers and Grand Finals which are best of 5
  • Team Attack is always on.
  • Dave's Stupid Rule: No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.
  • In team matches, the ports will be determined in a 1221 fashion; whoever wins the RPS will choose first, then the opposing team will get their ports, and then the teammate of the RPS winner will get the last port.
  • If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage.
  • Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.
  • If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser.
  • If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.
  • Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
  • Stalling is banned.
Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs most end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling.

Set format (In Order of Procedure):
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure
3. Each player may announce 1 stage to be banned for counterpicks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

Neutral stages (will be on random select):
Battlefield
Final Destination
Yoshi's Island
Smashville
Lylat Cruise

Counterpicks (are not on random select, but are legal stages to be selected):

Brawl+ Singles Rules

  • 4 Stocks
  • 8 Minute Time Limit
  • No Items
  • If you need to add your name to change your controls, please remember to do so, and do it quickly. You can not quit in the middle of a match if you realize your controls are wrong.
  • First round consists of all characters being chosen by a blind pick. The first stage will then be determined by a stage strike method. Players take turn striking out neutral stages until only one stage remains, which is the stage that is played. After the first match is over, each player bans one stage that can not be used in counterpicks.
  • Match two/three will first consist of the previous loser picking a stage, then the previous winner picking their character, and finally the previous loser picking their character.
  • You may not counterpick a stage you have already won on earlier that set.
  • Neutral Stages:
    • Final Destination
    • Battlefield
    • Smashville
    • Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
    • Lylat Cruise
    • Pokemon Stadium 2
    • Wario Ware
  • Counterpick Stages:
    • Delfino Plaza
    • Frigate Orpheon
    • Battleship Halberd
    • Castle Siege
    • Yoshi's Island (Melee)
    • Corneria
    • Rainbow Cruise
    • Brinstar
    • Pokemon Stadium
    • Wifi Waiting Room
  • If there is a dispute over controller ports, play Rock Paper Scissors for it (best 2 out of 3, no items, FD only).
  • Suicide Move Rules: (all situations are when both players are at 1 stock)
    • If a player successfully ends the match with either Bowser or Ganondorf's over B attack by suicide, then the player who initiated the move wins.
    • If a player ends the match by swallowing with Kirby or DDD and falling off the stage and the game counts it as a tie, the player who initiated the swallow move wins. If the player who was swallowed is shown as winning the match (in the instance the broke out right before they died which some people might not notice), then they win.

Money johns.

I'll do my best
to get here
AndrossMoney won't have hisits way with me.

On the event I make it, will be bringing a homebrew Wii, including these three easily swappable hacks:
Standard Brawl w/ Camera, Replay, Tags, and Music
Balanced Brawl
Out-of-date Brawl+

If access to modifying my SD Card is available, I can put my own Sonic hack onto the Balanced Brawl.

As well, I can offer a link to a ready-to-go preview of Chaos Sonic.

Will try to bring a TV if I'm making it.

Also for your convenience, I can offer a .TXT of all my modified songs.

EDIT

I should mention some important ****.

My Wii is crippled and has trouble booting up Brawl, but no trouble elsewise.
I advise that if the Wii is to be turned off, I be the one to turn it back on.
I know how to get the laser to work.

Sorry for the trouble.

There might be brawl+ or melee, not sure between the two if any, im gonna decide at the end of this week probably depending at how some stuff turns out.

If you want melee just say melee +1, brawl+ +1(lolwtf), you cant vote for both.

I'd rather have Melee than Brawl+, but I don't care.

I'll be there with Brawl/Melee/Smash64.

TO MONTREAL

By chance, does anybody have a Green N64 Controller that's in pretty **** good condition? Possibly a N64 Controller Pak in it? (can't remember)

I've been looking all over the apartment for it and it's nowhere. The last place I used it was Montreal.

My uncle's birthday is in october but I don't remember the exact date, I don't believe it's that weekend though. So I'll probably be there and I'll see if I can con Chet into coming/teaming with me.

Blazblue Singles - 8$

-Double Elimination. Matches are best of 3, except for Winners', Losers', and Grand finals, which are best of 5.
-Life Stealing is allowed
-Set team attack to ON
Lol wut.
If you don't know about the rulesets for BlazBlue, it's simply double elimination, Bo3, Bo5 for finals. Nothing banned (except the obvious unlimited version characters).

Anyways, I'll probably be there for whatever Smash there will be and BlazBlue. Maybe I can convince my brother to come for BlazBlue too.

For setups, I can only bring a 360/stick for BlazBlue though :(. I can also bring a hacked Wii but it froze a lot at the last weekly so I can't see it'll be the most reliable one. And if someone can tell me where I can get a TV like Bento's or vrud's, maybe I'd buy one too.

And I don't care if it is Brawl+ or Melee.

I think Life Stealing being allowed is a good thing for BlazBlue, I think Ragna would have a lot more trouble if he couldn't use his drives.

I'd rather have Brawl+ then melee, so +1 for Brawl+. Ill probably bring a tv, I accept mm in all games including Balanced Brawl. Looking at you Buenob and Linkshot ;)
Don't make Ness+ show up and take all of your moneys XD...

As unlikely as it is that I'll make it out to this I'd actually rather have Melee...and Brawl+... and no vBrawl.
