no. some characters vertical rising speeds are different, fox and falco compared to samus for example.

some character are also far larger than others, affecting the time it takes them to pass through a platform, kirby and DDD for example.
ah ok then. I'm going to assume Luigi has a terrible pass through platform. Probably since it's combined with his floatyness. Never doing this as luigi ever again I get punished trying to do it so much.

What are the top 10 slowest fall speeds? Also who would be considered heavy yet floaty besides ROB and Samus? And are there characters more susceptible to jablocks-esque moves?

Well besides the size of the character's hurtbox I don't see what would make a character more jab lockable than the other.
And rPSI about the falling speed, if I understand right the first of your lists is how fast characters attain their terminal fall speed (the second list).
But is FF speed attained instantly or does FFing just increase your maximum fall speed ?

Certain characters have an addition to their falling acceleration due to fastfall boost, mostly Wario.

This thread is useful.

Why is it that you can't escape jab locks (and laser locks and ftilt locks, you know what I'm talking about) by SDIing upwards like you can in Melee?

The knockback for a jab lock plays out differently than a regular hit in that it keeps you on the ground and makes you unable to go aerial.

Ceiling scary, metaknight scary, ledge gone sometimes very scary, circle camp scary too.

Me scared.

Also 50% or more tournaments are going Apex or SRT stagelists which leaves 2-3 of those stages out most of the time anyway.

how does gaw's bacon AT work where he slides off the platform and uses it, does it take away cooldown lag? Do other characters have something similar?

olimar's pikmin pluck and many other moves that dont have a ground to air transition just end immediately and let you do whatever you want.

Well pikmin pluck can also be used in the air, its just a different animation. Almost every aerial special has an animation it will change into when you landing before it over (there are those awesome few that cancel with 0 lag like falco and samus projectiles). But some specials can't transition from a ground animation to the air animation and they just end (like olimar's pikmin pluck).

Ness can do something similar with PK fire if you are talking about what I think you are.

Yes, turn on you wii and jump and press B with Olimar. You can use pikmin pluck in the air. It just has a different animation and you get absolutely nothing for it.

...You can't Pikmin Pluck in the air, in the same way you can't pull turnips or use DK's ground pound in the air.
Your comparisons are bad examples. You can still use Olimar's Neutral-B in the air. He'll just try to pull nothingness and he'll deal with a lot of lag. You literally can't use Peach Down-B or DK Down-B when starting in the air. It is similar in that your animation cancels when you go from ground-to-air due to momentum.

It doesn't take away cooldown lag. I think he might get a speed boost, like a weaker version of Mario's Cape edge boosting. I know that's the case with G&W's Forward-B.

Oh, I wasn't aware of this.

so, I did something crazy today...
I was practicing against snake..and ate a bair off stage which knocked me through the platform on smashville and I mc by pc.

meaning I would have died but by platform canceling it was like i lost all momentum.

how was that possible and can it be useful? I believe so. just kinda hard to practice.

Maybe it's moves that make you take away the ability to move once you've used it?

I know that Mario's cape, ICs blizzard, and G&W's hammer hammer have the same effect when used right before going off a ledge.

no I platform canceled, going thru the platform perform. u input the command and you'll be standing on the top of the platform.

I'm not sure how early you have to do it orotund what percentage it won't work at. but I was at 140ish with marth.

I had no idea you could do it. very hard to master, reflexes need to be god like. very impractical

also I love your avi luckay4Lyphe

If I'm not mistaken, you can platform cancel with an aerial or airdodge after getting sent away through a moving platform, and it cancels all momentum. Pretty impractical outside of a select few situations (the platform above the ship at the beginning of Rainbow Cruise rotation, etc.).

The description of this video says:

"-Not in vid -
SDI to buffer Upsmash OOS - Must have tap jump on. Press up on the control stick and forward on the c-stick during shield hitlag."

Is this possible to accomplish with Tap jump off?

Not sure what you mean. An average of the 3 or just which ones possess one of the fastest smashes?

I think frame 4 is the fastest and that Zelda and Sheik's Dsmash. Then most likely MK, Pit, Marth, Wolf, Fox, Toon Link, Wario and Diddy. ROB's Dsmash is also pretty fast i think.
