So, you're telling me you were either drunk when you thought of it, or you did what someone else did, and just smashed your head on your keyboard and just chose whatever random nonsense was created?

Nah, it used to mean something but it's been about 10 or more years since I made it up so I can't remember.

The FINAL FANTASY numbering system is easy to understand. 2 is 4 and 3 is 6. I know of ALL the re-releases. For example, Final Fantasy IV's OSV would be considered "Final Fantasy IV" The OST would be considered "Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection" (FFIV:CC will have the soundtrack for The After Years). Now there is "Final Fantasy IV Advance" and "Final Fantasy IV" (Wonderswan Colour). The OST arranged version goes to the first game it was used for (and any other games[or the gaming system] can be put in parenthesis, just a thought). For example, Final Fantasy I and II OST would go to "Final Fantasy Origins". The problem here is that there are too many choices to go with.

Yeah. Final Fantasy I and II Original Soundtrack is from Final Fantasy Origins.

I just recently unlocked Mt. Gulg in Theatrythm, which is from Final Fantasy I, but it's an arranged version. Is this the Origins version?

Also, having said that, if I put FFI and II OST under "Final Fantasy Origins", if there are any left to do.... would I put the ORIGINAL soundtracks for FFI and FFII, which was released in 1989 under the title "All Sounds from Final Fantasy I . II", under the "Final Fantasy" and "Final Fantasy II" titles, but as "OST Arranged version"?

I always considered it as:
III NES = III OSV
III DS = III OST
IV SNES = IV OSV
IV DS = IV OST

Also going by your "first game it features on" thing....
Final Fantasy IV DS was released in 2008 (2007 in Japan).
Final Fantasy IV OST was released in 2008, which is the soundtrack to the above game.
Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection was released three years after the IV OST... so wouldn't it be considered "Final Fantasy IV DS" rather than "The Complete Collection"?

And just to make things confusing...

People have uploaded songs to "Final Fantasy IV DS" and "Final Fantasy IV (DS)" note the parentheses.

One of these uses the "in game" versions, where as the other uses the OST versions, which was later used in FFIV:TCC

And yes, there are also songs under "Final Fantasy: The Complete Collection"

I got the min:ss format done, so I just need some more tweaking to add that to the description, and to get it working with any amount of songs in one go.

Yes, Mt. Gulg from Theatrythm is the Origins version.

The Originals can go under "Final Fantasy II" or "Final Fantasy II (NES)" whatever you think is more fitting.

It's hard to cater to everyone's needs. Someone may think the OST of FFIV is supposed to be FFIV DS' soundtrack, or it's own individual category.

Maybe FFIV: TCC should become FFIV DS OST (or arrangement) or it should be put in the category of Final Fantasy IV DS, just end the tracks in, for example, "Welcome to Our Town OST".

this may take some time and thought, but it'll work out eventually. The Whole series isn't like this, thankfully. it's mostly the older games that cause a little confusion between people (≥VII).

What I was thinking is that the music from the Final Fantasy IV OST should come under Final Fantasy IV DS, and only tracks that are exclusive to Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection should be included under that title.

Also I made a custom loop of the full Dancing Mad theme, by which I mean Parts 1 - 3, not including the very final part, as heard in Theatrhythm. It involves channel muting for a smooth and somewhat interesting custom loop.

As you may have also worked out, channel muting was used for the 'extended' DKC3 BRSTMs I made and uploaded to the channel.

As for the custom Dancing Mad BRSTM:
Loop Start: 100352 samples (2.0907 seconds)
Loop End: 33918165 samples 706.6284)

That translates as roughly 0:02 - 11:46

So the only way to hear the full loop in Brawl, is to play a 12 minute match. And if you want to hear it twice, you'll need a 24 minute match.

http://www.mediafire.com/?r43qz6e4scvfpwv

You're probably thinking why not just "cut the entire loop and paste"?

Well, that'd sound bad, and I don't just "find" loops for custom loops, I create them. Overlapping, channel muting, and so on.

Take these for example, both of which involve channel muting:

There's already an .rsn that contains Dancing Mad (full). Not sure about the released OSV though. The .rsn version is the exact same as your BRSTM (except around 4:20 the .rsn has crash cymbals, and the beginning has a crash cymbal and snare drum).

I used the SPC rip from HCS.
RSNs are exactly the same. RSN is not a different format to SPCs, it's just simply an "archived SPC".
Compare with vgm and vgz.

The SPC set has 5 parts of Dancing Mad, individually.
Parts 1, 2 and 3 are heard in the "Dancing Mad (Full)" track in the SPC/RSN rip (trust me, when you load the RSN in Winamp or foobar2000 the individual files are SPC files)

Parts 4 and 5 are the final part (Part 4 is also the first part of Omen), which is the part in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

The OSV has BOTH of these, as in the full 5 parts, as it fades out after Part 3, then starts with the Omen part for 42 seconds, and then the main final part.

Need help.

Found someone who is helping brawlcustommusic.com and who has and index of brstm files: http://www.brawlcustommusic.com/music/brstm/

Its just there in numbers and I can't find like a guide or anything on which song is which. The videos don't help either, they don't have a number anywhere on them. Any help is appreciated :D

That's the problem with only having that index: you only have numbers, and you must download them to know which one is each one of them.

I have written down which are some of the ones I uploaded, though (they are like 20, though).

The best we can do for now is wait until the page is up again...

However, I can't remove the numbers at the beginning, so the second number is what you should be looking at.

So for example, Title Screen from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door would be 493.brstm

There are over 24,000 BRSTMs, so don't even think about expecting me to do that. It takes a LONG time for Winamp to 'rename' the playlist in the format of
%filename% - %album% - %title%

So the only thing is to just accept that I can't exactly give you a full list at all.

So I made a (probably very bad) BRSTM of all 5 parts of Dancing Mad, and reduced the repeated parts so that each part only plays once, so it's smaller, and the entire thing fits on YouTube.

Here's the 'metadata' if that's the correct word, thanks to soneek:
Sample Rate = 48000 Hz
Loop Start = 0:39.7227
Loop End = 10:11.1195

The general idea of how the loop works is that when Part 5 (used in Theatrhythm) loops, what I did, was have it play 4 bars of the track again, with the drums and bass but before it actually starts the melody, I lowered the pitch by 1 semi-tone in SNESAmp, and ripped a separate WAV for the lowered pitch.
This was to lower it to the same pitch as the beginning of Part 1. At the same time, Part 1 starts again, with a loop of the Part 5 drum beat and bass intro playing for the first 35 or so seconds.

And yes, as far as I can tell a lot of the song is the same tempo. You could have Part 2 and add Part 5's drum beat to it, and it'd most likely work. It worked with having Part 1, and Part 5's drum beat and bass line over the top.

The numbers are in the video description.

For example, look at this Bianco Hills video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikeZ2DwyFYM&list=PLE322A94D589B0795&index=1&feature=plpp_video

See where it says "This video was uploaded from http://www.brawlcustommusic.com/1585"?

That link clearly doesn't work, but you can use that number at the end, 1585, to find that Bianco Hills BRSTM. Just hit CTRL+F, type in the number, and download away. If you can't find a number, that means it hasn't been uploaded yet. Any new stuff, like the NSMB 2 BRSTMs won't have numbers because they're brand new and aren't archived with the old stuff (to my understanding).

Exactly. All videos that weren't uploaded via the site's script will be removed and re-uploaded via the site, when it's back.

I'd like to point out that Square Enix half-arsed the loops in Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories. Hand in Hand still has a bad loop in-game and on the OST. I had to remake it with some heavy editing because I couldn't stand listening to that pop at the loop anymore.

For the Big Battle 2, I put it that way because this is how the 2SF file was named. I would have renamed it if I knew the exact title at the time. x)

Out of curiosity, anyone have a good estimate about when the site will be back up? I'd just like to have an opinion about it, for updating purposes.

I Dair You.... is here! RUN!!!!

Anyway... do you have some BRSTMs to upload Alaric?

I know I have a .... lot.

And if I do a **** load of Final Fantasy related BRSTMs, and..... hmm..

Soneek? There are some old Animal Crossing (64/GCN) BRSTMs that you made right? And you said you'd so some, and I'd do some? Which ones have you NOT done yet?

The point is, I'll be honest.... you're probably looking at at least 600 BRSTMs that will be uploaded to the site when it's back.

Oh... did I mention that's just mine alone? If anyone else's still making BRSTMs at the moment, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say well over 1,000 have been waiting... right?

As for when the site's back? Well it's been online for a while... it just doesn't have any of the pages uploaded... or whatever.

If you want an estimated date of arrival... no one knows exactly, but as I said, an estimate... would be hopefully (just to make it safe) BEFORE the end of the year. I'm not saying it'll still be down by December, but if I say the end of the year, it's safer than saying "before the end of next week", because there's no way that'd be possible.

Also, TNG? For Final Fantasy.... does this sound OK?

For any of the original soundtracks of V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII as well as X-2 and XIII-2, and the 2 mini-albums of XIV, these can just be placed under those games, right?

Then, does this sound good?
Final Fantasy III: Original Sound Version goes under Final Fantasy III (NES)

Final Fantasy III: Original Soundtrack goes under Final Fantasy III (DS)

Final Fantasy IV: Original Sound Version goes under Final Fantasy IV (SNES)

Final Fantasy IV: Original Soundtrack goes under Final Fantasy IV (DS)

All Sounds from Final Fantasy I & II goes under either Final Fantasy (NES) or Final Fantasy II (NES)

Final Fantasy I & II: Original Soundtrack goes under Final Fantasy: Origins

Now, just a slight question... for Final Fantasy IV: Original Soundtrack, these songs should go under Final Fantasy IV (DS), and NOT Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection.

However... there's an album called "Final Fantasy IV & The After Years Sounds Plus"

This contains tracks from Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, as well as six tracks from the DS version of Final Fantasy IV. Should the After Years songs go under Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, or Final Fanasy IV: The Complete Collection?

Is there a difference in sound between the PSP version of After Years in The Complete Collection, and the original WiiWare version?

If so then, IV OST should be exclusively uploaded as IV (DS), and After Years from the PLUS soundtrack should be exclusively uploaded as After Years, and Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection should not have any music uploaded, as it's just a compilation with no exclusive music or any different sound. Otherwise, you may as well upload music from Sonic 3 & Knuckles under Sonic Mega Collection for example.

Also, do expansion packs or add-ons go under separate games, e.g.
Final Fantasy XI: Wings of the Goddess?

Also would all the games in the "Compilation of Final Fantasy VII" series go under separate titles? I.e.:
Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-
Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII-
Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-
Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode -Final Fantasy VII-

@TheUltimateKoopa

It was just to see how things have been with you. Plus,..., I felt like it was a while since I've left a comment. Also, once the site's officially running again, I plan on linking some of the songs for some of my devination stories so people who read it could get a feel for what music would play if the story were a video.

There's already an .rsn that contains Dancing Mad (full). Not sure about the released OSV though. The .rsn version is the exact same as your BRSTM (except around 4:20 the .rsn has crash cymbals, and the beginning has a crash cymbal and snare drum).
Also, it turned out I actually left the "percussion" bit out, as I had them as separate WAVs for each channel, and I forgot/left that one accidentally, but I did fix it and re-upload it which you may notice on the channel.

Also, (I hope Seg doesn't reply to this before I've finished editing)... here's a list of all the different 'games' containing 'Final Fantasy' that have had BRSTMs uploaded:

Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy (1 song)
Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy (36 songs)
Dissidia Final Fantasy 012 Duodecim (38 songs)
Dissidia: Final Fantasy (43 songs)
Final Fantasy (PSP) (21 songs)
Final Fantasy Adventure (14 songs)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (2 songs)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (1 song)
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon (7 songs)
Final Fantasy II (PSX/PSP) (29 songs)
Final Fantasy III (DS) (1 song)
Final Fantasy IV (58 songs)
Final Fantasy IV (DS) (5 songs)
Final Fantasy IV (PSP) (3 songs)
Final Fantasy IV (WSC) (1 song)
Final Fantasy IV DS (9 songs)
Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (27 songs)
Final Fantasy IX (70 songs)
Final Fantasy Tactics (1 song)
Final Fantasy V (33 songs)
Final Fantasy VI (6 songs)
Final Fantasy VII (31 songs)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (3 songs)
Final Fantasy VII: Voices Of the Lifestream (1 song)
Final Fantasy VIII (16 songs)
Final Fantasy X (14 songs)
Final Fantasy X-2 (23 songs)
Final Fantasy XI (2 songs)
Final Fantasy XII (6 songs)
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (1 song)
Final Fantasy XIII (88 songs)
Final Fantasy XIII-2 (14 songs)
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (28 songs)
SaGa 2 / Final Fantasy Legend II (1 song)
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (2 songs)

Now... I can say one thing...
I'm pretty sure that the first 4 are the same game, but some idiots couldn't be bothered to use the drop down menu to find the game so ended up making 4 different variations of the same name <_____<

Also:

Final Fantasy IV (DS)
Final Fantasy IV (PSP)
Final Fantasy IV DS
Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection

All these should just be under Final Fantasy IV (DS) since that was the original game, but only the songs exclusive to 'The Complete Collection' should be under that title.

Finally:
Final Fantasy (PSP)
Final Fantasy II (PSX/PSP)

both these should be merged and renamed as Final Fantasy: Origins

I listened to the BRSTMS from Final Fantasy (PSP) and they are 100% identical to the Final Fantasy I & II Original Soundtrack which was for the Final Fantasy: Origins remake complilation.

Dissidia Duodecim and Dissidia: Final Fantasy are two different games. The former is the sequel to the latter.

So the first 3 are the same game.

Do they have different music?
Also are the songs that are called something like FF3 blah blah, actually from FF3, or a completely different song that isn't anything to do with Final Fantasy III or any other song like that?

I have little knowledge on the music of Final Fantasy XI and XIV, so I can't help you there.

The After Years soundtrack was always the same since the mobile releases in japan. (I'm quiet sure) There is an opening FMV for The After Years on psp, but it's nothing to worry about. The After Years is not 100% original music, and uses music from the OST. The Complete Collection might as well be ditched.

Expansion packs can go under the same game name, separating them may lead to less confusion. (trust me, people may actually become confused.)

Dissidia and Dissidia 012, erm, remix the music (there are originals that can be obtained through gameplay or DLC[I think], but I digress).

Also, Final Fantasy IV PSP was renamed to Complete Collection(so there are only 3 FFIVs in the list) and there were never 4 different Dissidia's in the games list.

Final Fantasy I is 100% identical because the reused origins music for FFI and FFII PSP.

Sorry if i'm being a bother to you guys, but I have BRSTMs of the following games, and I am unaware if these games are completed or not.(Not ALL of your games/music have logos or have been uploaded); Terranigma, Dragon Warrior/Quest 1, 2, 3, 5 & 6 (SNES), Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Seiken Densetsu 3, Lufia 1 & 2.

I was just going by the MP3s from the backup which are automatically tagged so that the "Title" is the song name, and the "Album" is the Game Name.

So... the Final Fantasy IV Original Soundtrack (the 2008 one, not the 1991 OSV) should go under Final Fantasy IV DS, right? Because that's what it was originally for.
The Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection should not have any music whatsoever uploaded as it's just duplicates of the DS version.

There's also an OST for the After Years which contains original music for that game, apparently.
http://vgmdb.net/album/22762

Note that Tracks 14 - 19 were 6 tracks from the FF IV OST that were selected by fans. Tracks 1 - 13 are from The After Years

And any Final Fantasy I or Final Fantasy II games listed as either PSP or PSX should all be merged as Final Fantasy: Origins, right, and there should be no "Final Fantasy (PSP)" at all, as, again, they're just the same as Origins.

As I said, the list is from the MP3s, and the different albums were named as such:
Code:
Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy (1 song)
Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy (36 songs)
Dissidia Final Fantasy 012 Duodecim (38 songs)
Dissidia: Final Fantasy (43 songs)
Final Fantasy (PSP) (21 songs)
Final Fantasy Adventure (14 songs)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (2 songs)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (1 song)
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon (7 songs)
Final Fantasy II (PSX/PSP) (29 songs)
Final Fantasy III (DS) (1 song)
Final Fantasy IV (58 songs)
Final Fantasy IV (DS) (5 songs)
Final Fantasy IV (PSP) (3 songs)
Final Fantasy IV (WSC) (1 song)
Final Fantasy IV DS (9 songs)
Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (27 songs)
Final Fantasy IX (70 songs)
Final Fantasy Tactics (1 song)
Final Fantasy V (33 songs)
Final Fantasy VI (6 songs)
Final Fantasy VII (31 songs)
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (3 songs)
Final Fantasy VII: Voices Of the Lifestream (1 song)
Final Fantasy VIII (16 songs)
Final Fantasy X (14 songs)
Final Fantasy X-2 (23 songs)
Final Fantasy XI (2 songs)
Final Fantasy XII (6 songs)
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (1 song)
Final Fantasy XIII (88 songs)
Final Fantasy XIII-2 (14 songs)
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (28 songs)
SaGa 2 / Final Fantasy Legend II (1 song)
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy (2 songs)
EDIT: TNG, I'll upload them in a minute, so when I have.... check the following BRSTMs:

21490 (Battle 2 from Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection)
17207 (Big Battle 2 from Final Fantasy IV DS)
17737 (Vs. Boss from Final Fantasy IV DS)

All 3 of these are exactly the same. Keep in mind that the backup never removes any deleted BRSTMs from the site so 2 of these may have already been rejected.

And yes, there's going to be a LOT of rejected BRSTMs re-uploaded.

When the site returns, I'll upload what I have of Billy Hatcher. I'm probably missing a song or two. Also wanna do the soundtrack of "Sonic: Before the Sequel," a fan game that was just re-released that includes a custom soundtrack.

The OST (They added the OSV [1991] which was an option to turn on) soundtrack was used in Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection and Final Fantasy IV DS's soundtrack is it's own OSV (from the 2sf rips)

21490 (Battle 2 from Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection)←The OST
17207 (Big Battle 2 from Final Fantasy IV DS)←2sf rip
17737 (Vs. Boss from Final Fantasy IV DS)←2sf rip

They would have to stream the OST off of the DS.
Here are all of the remakes (The After Years does not count) that contain different music:
Final Fantasy IV (Wonderswan Color)
Final Fantasy IV (Super Nintendo)
Final Fantasy IV Advance (Game Boy Advance)
Final Fantasy IV (DS)
Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection (It had enough space to use the OST)

But the Final Fantasy IV Original Soundtrack is the soundtrack to the DS version.

Basically, the Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection uses the DS OST. Therefore, the Final Fantasy IV OST should come under DS, not "The Complete Collection".

Otherwise, again... why do we not have Hydrocity Zone Act 2 for Sonic Mega Collection? Because... it's from Sonic 3 & Knuckles... get what I mean?

So... you're saying that the Final Fantasy IV OST should be under the PSP remake/compilation, DESPITE the fact it's technically the DS soundtrack?

Remember, the OST and the DS version were released in 2008, but the PSP version (i.e. The Complete Collection) was not released until 2011.

This is what I thought:
OSV is for the SNES version
OST is originally for the DS version, but was also used in the Complete Collection PSP remake as well

If you're going to say that the DS soundtrack should be uploaded as the PSP remake, then why don't we just not upload anything for Sonic 1, 2, or 3/Knuckles and just upload it as Sonic Mega Collection?

Also I have a problem.
I have 107 Final Fantasy XIV SCD files.

They have looping info... but there aren't any converters that support the *.scd format... or are there?

What I'm saying about FFIV is that:

The OST and 2SF should BOTH come under Final Fantasy IV DS, as the OST is for the DS version anyway.

And, just confirm this:
Final Fantasy II (PSX/PSP)
and
Final Fantasy (PSP)

none of these games should be listed, and they should both be merged as Final Fantasy: Origins, right?

You mean the FFXIV? Awesome. They're tagged I hope :p

Person: Hey, what's that song?
Me: It's called "5B" ... j/k

How did you do it though? It wasn't outputting to WAV, then painstakingly copying each loop information into note pad in the format that works with BRSTM Converter 3.3, was it?
