In all reality, the scene is in Fburg is SSF4, and SSBB is taking the backseat to it. No one really cares about going to Fburg for smash tourneys because they aren't respected as well as SSF4. I'm not gonna go in depth to this, but I'll be here. I hope most of y'all can make it. I'll try to house people if they can ask me ahead of time instead of last minute.

Hey, I maybe going by bus, and if that's the case, I may need overnight housing. Could I potentially stay there?

Yeah, they had radio advertisement and still didn't get many people. I've put fliers up at the libraries and colleges so hopefully that will catch some peoples attention. I would love to get a strong local turnout, the smash community needs new faces and it would be nice to discover someone with good potential.

But yeah, with you housing people the night before, the attendance should boost a bit. Thanks very much Kenny. I was really considering dropping the new venue because of the low turnout, but hopefully this will impact it enough that the new venue won't go to waste.

If you could throw a thread up for a smashfest, that would be awesome.

Bolt are you using facebook/aib/gamefaqs for this event? Mew2king had a good thread on this. They can help attract different fanbases and players.

I've used AIB before, but never got any hits on it.. used it back for Mythic, I don't really navigate AIB as well as I do Smash Boards, and I've never used Gamefaqs.

Scott would you mind cooking up a thread on AIB? Your probably more known over those boards than I am. I've never even been on Gamefaqs website. x_x

It is very important that we get ahold of more Super Street Fighter 4 copies. We already have 5 TV's available for Smash with 2 Wiis/Brawl, but as usual, more is always better to help things run smoother and faster.

Yes and no. The address takes them to Game Haven, where they must register. Then from there, you go to the Venue, which is across the street.

even when there isnt a livestream ur *** is still not going to the tourney...lol

livestream isnt the same anyway...I only watch live stream when I dont have the funds to go to the tourney.

No point? The point is, get better if you wanna get payed. I'm not paying out to top 5 if the turnout is 30 people and only half enter singles. :/ That takes a huge chunk from 1st place, in which in my opinion, deserves a good portion of the pot.

As I said before, it all depends on attendance. If it's a solid attendance, majority vote will overrule.

This is true, but in your case.. Brawl sucks, and you'd want to be here for SSF4. In which there is no stream for that. So bring your a$$.

I'm also hoping that acquiring the bigger/better venue and this being my last event would promote enough hype for people to come out alone, then again.. who knows with this community anymore.

If you do the pay-outs right then you wouldn't take anything from 1st and still pay out to 5th. You payout that many people in doubles why not singles? Even if 5th doesn't get that much it's still better than nothing, but it's your tourney and if you wanna do it different/the old way that's fine :/

Top 3 is pretty discouraging. This region has too many good players for only top 3, and many mid-level players who can potentially get top 5 if they cause an upset.

If the turnout is only 15, yeah I could understand top 3, but if that's the case, the event is a lost cause anyway.

im just sayin, why put all this time and energy into setting up a stream, catering to people who aren't even there (usually only like 20-40 people anyway), when i could be playing matches, watching matches, or helping the TO, etc.? We should make those 20-40 people wait in anticipation for results, and have to show up and enter to watch intense matches.

I think the commentators just like hearing the sound of their own voice . Where's the fun in commentating for 20 random brawl noobs?
