LOL there are a lot of melee players in massachusetts and theres also a monthly tournament called "Mass Madness" in Framingham

Players like pc chris/KDJ/mango have gone and many others from NY/NJ/rest of New england/ random other places

Also the major summer brawl/melee tourney, other than Genesis, is happening in Mass
Ah, cool. I thought Framingham was further away than it actually is. It's T accessible too, right?

i'm actually on the grammar train. it's too bad you missed your stop, it's pretty badass in here.
You might want to correct your capitalization and your comma splice before you criticize others on grammar.

SSB 64 is MILES ahead of Brawl
64 is the same level of stupid as Brawl, just taken in the complete opposite direction, so it's more fun. As opposed to almost nothing being safe on block, almost everything is safe on block, and grabs have so little cooldown they're borderline nonpunishable, plus they are both combo starters and kill moves, which is frankly dam* stupid, so shielding is barely an option against somebody who can lag cancel, which is stupid easy. As opposed to few chances to put somebody with good DI in a bad position, brain-dead easy combos that look kind of pretty occasionally come off of mostly safe nonsense with generally good priority. It rewards offense more than Brawl, which rewards defense a bit more than people are comfortable with, but the offense 64 rewards is stupid.

Brawl is still in it's infancy, when it grows up, gets pimples, starts developing its personality, and everyone realizes that it's a loser

Melee will still be there, cause it's always been there, just chillin

The funny thing is, even with all this its harder to be good in SSB64 than SSBB.

There are combos to practice as opposed to no combos [they're fairly easy but not brain dead easy, you need to be at least a mid competitive level to start doing the good combos], Lag Cancelling, which you say is "stupid easy", is only a little bit easier than Melee. Shorthopping is easy compared to Melee in SSB64, but shorthopping in Brawl is a lot easier.

That grabs being kill moves and combo starters though is false. It depends on the grab, almost no grabs are kill moves AND combo starters unless thrown off the wall. Otherwise, the only ones with combo grabs period are Jigglypuff, Falcon, and probably DK. DK's can kill [fthrow], rest can't unless at insanely high percents.

General faster speed in SSB64 means you need to adapt faster than in Brawl as well. Sure, I admit that Melee is more difficult to be good than 64, but 64 is nothing, NOTHING, like Brawl.

Not to mention that yes, it's more fun. But that's subjective.

not to be super offensive but, I am sure that tri-state is the best, followed by SoCal. (they have like 3-5 good players, and mango being the only one better than the rest. So overall, it's probably tri-state).

Arizona is pretty active. Tucson alone has 20 players, 14 of which are active on an almost weekly basis. Phoenix has about the same amount of players melee-wise, except they're highly unorganized, and MUCH more lazy than the Tucsonans. Sierra Vista's scene is just about dead, but they still have I think like 5-10 players who are still semi-active.

Of course, we have like double the amount of brawl players, but about 30~40 active melee players is respectable. Plus Arizona has organized monthlies, and organized regional weeklies, and AZ is gaining more players as time goes on. AZ is also the middle road for SW and WC. I'm pretty sure that if the organized monthlies were moved to Tucson, and the tournaments more hyped, we could coax WC and SW to travel more often.

Plus people should travel to AZ more often. AZ travels all over the place quite often, so others should take our example.

yet it still stands.
1. The best place for Melee has always been the US of A (other than possibly Japan in the early years of the game)
2. Please don't bump 5-and-a-half-year-old threads.
