We have M2K, Cactuar, Pakman, Scar, and MaNg0 (ask him, he knows and says he's EC/Tristate all the way). On EC, we've got the Canada guys (listed above), and the CT guys. Can't forget them.

i know the east coast is good, but ur counting all of the east coast. cause the west coast also has , eggz, silent wolf, lunin, tang, ka master( dont know if he plays any more), etc. i was just saying players from Cali. but i have a question for the east coast.......... is PC chris, and DaShizWiz still playing???

Listening to Wife brings back the times when Ken was god and I was a noob... no big tournament is complete without Wife commentating. I love the funny commentators, but sometimes it needs to be balanced by Wife's actually informative commentary.
Alberta isn't very good compared to the rest of Canada or the Melee community in general.
Although we did have the Punch Crew + MikeMonkey as well as MagnuM. We do have superboom for anyone who plays 64 competitively.
Uh, but we're a tiny community, dwarfed by the EC canada region. Although it's nice since we're all good friends with each other, and there aren't very many distinct groups since whether you're scrub or a pro, we're all tight knit. XD
But we all suck at melee.

I love the west coast( mainly in Cali) commentary......... its has info, its cool, and fun to hear. im not saying that the east coast has bad commentary, just i like the west coast better.

FL is definitely 1 of the top melee scenes.
We have 30-50 person melee tourneys every month and 1/2. We also got some of the best players in the country like Shiz, Chops, Colbol, and Hungry.
Speciifically Orlando FL has 1 of the best smash scenes in the country. Gigabits LAN center in Orlando has been holding smash tourneys for 4 years. They have brawl tourneys every month which range from 60-140 people and melee tourneys every month and 1/2 which range from 30-50 people.

The Texas melee scene was severly influenced by the release of Brawl and the relentless Brawl advocation by Melee's former TGM, Brawl's better know Samus player Xyro.
By saying things similar to, "Get off the sinking ship known as melee, you're playing a dying game," he successfully recruited many players. We are down to very few players in the Houston region, and almost no new players. We have maybe about 10 or less active melee players.

What a GREAT summary. 100% true.
I happy to say it wont. LOLOLOLOL! Its a dead game And when i say that i mean its LOSING popularity and being hosted LESS and LESS while brawl is climbing in popularity. Oh and since brawl+ is pretty much melee 2 its almost 100% promised melee will NEVER come back.
It was a great game but its time has passed. Get off the sinking ship while you can, my arms are open!
Brawl is the future. FACE IT!

Brawl is just an annoying bug, pestering you over and over again, in a community of humans. Eventually that bug will be crushed, but the community is foolish and stupid, and because of this, the bug will live longer. Until the community loses its foolish traces Brawl will continue to exist.
But I would hope the humans would eventually smarten up, and destroy this pest, if you catch my drift.
With that said, Montana is easily the worst state in America for smash.

If you've played both then how can you just kick melee to the curve. Thats pretty much saying because brawl is newer its better.
I could start a brand new club of people that walk/hike around the city and collect dog s**t and used condoms. Would anyone join..... I dont think so. get my point.

good speech and all..... except that its been a year and brawl is growing while melee is shrinking(except for afew events here and there[gen/evo/apex]) and at all 3 of those brawl will be bigger. Melee cant win and aint comin back.

Ive played melee for 7 years and it truly is the BEST game in the series. How ever, as one of the most popular and successful TOs in texas history i have seen how had it was to get new melee players and expand a scene. To get good at melee there was a steep learning curve.
With brawl that curve is still there but not as deep and because of that i get more people. The wii is mor popular than the GCN. Brawl ha MORE characters that people enjoy. And quite frankly, im tired of melee. The same old crap happened day in and day out. Brawl is fresh and we are always learning new things.
You guys can keep yor melee(and please enjoy it) but you are choosing a path of alienation and path that has a dead end......
