I have it bad. You have it bad. It doesn't make a difference to me really. I haven't played smash seriously since July because of money problems. I'd rather be able to have money and travel than be stuck here with nothing.

Also, I've mad my decision. Colver, PA is the worst place to live if you're a smasher.

Ask Renth. All you have to do is look at a map, and you'll see its boxed in, 4/5 hours west is pittsburgh. 4/5 hour south is some other towns. 7+ hours east is Philly. 7 hours north is more smashers.

Its like being boxed in from all sides.

Where in florida do you live?

california as a whole is an amazing area for melee.
in norcal most tournaments get more entrants for melee than brawl (SILENT SPECTRE BABY)
and socal has tournaments every weekend, with a really dedicated close-knit group of players

I am sooo appreciative of the fact that I live in SOCAL! I feel sad for those who live in Melee dead zones. Hope you guys find a way to stay happy at your locations in another way or live happy by moving somewhere where Melee scene is active.

Im 250+ miles from any real tourneys. Still it's better than Idaho, Im pretty sure their melee power rankings has "That one asian guy Battlechrist brought" as their #4

Also in which states has Melee died completely? Where is the worst place to go to play Smash? I'm sad to say Mississippi is probably near the top. I think there's 2 active Smashers here (maybe 3, I think we got a new one!).

After I leave West Virginia in May, there will not be a single active Melee player in the state. Husband is at WVU right now, but I don't think you can say he's active, and there isn't anyone else.

That's it. So, by having 2 active members you have double the number we have right now

we got 5-8 smashers in arkansas so its not terrible since 5 of use live in 30m of each other.

and we travel 2h to play with memphis people all the time so every 3 weeks there is a 15+ tournament in the memphis area.

we got one before with 25 people and that was a lot to fit into that little living room but the skill gap isn't too crazy anymore so makes things better.

Well at this moment Texas sucks for melee. Though its nice to see other people like me struggling. Hopefully you guys will meet other people to play with.

BC is pretty empty except for the central Okanagan, Vancouver and Victoria. Victoria is very 64, Vancouver is fairly Brawl, but the Okanagan is mostly Melee with some Brawl.

My town has nobody. The advantage of that is that I'm immediately allowed to call myself more or less the best player in my area.

The number ones have to be SoCal, NoCal and Tri-State. Florida could be better, soon it will get back up there.

I know Oregon kind of blows right now, not sure about WA they at least have some tournies, we get a couple now and again, but they are almost always coupled with brawl, last tourney I went to though had a pretty decent turnout so obviously our good players still want to play, just no one is hosting regular games, it takes a lot of work.

Yep, Oregon is really bad right now. Maybe if we get enough people we could host a side melee tourney at this years SmashFest.

I think Cali is pretty boss right now......... seeing how Mango beat mewtwo king and all( im not saying that mewtwo king sucks, just that he lost to mango), and cali got yah boys HMW, Hugs, Phil, Lucky, Replicate, Hyuga, SFat, Connor the kid, Lunin, Lucian, Full Metal Falcomist, Etc. and the DBR Crew( The Germ, Hella, Zelgadis, BoB Money, SS, Tang, etc.) . which in my opinion is the best Crew i have seen or heard about. maybe its just cause im from Cali, but they are Stupid good!

MN's halfway decent though. We definetely prefer Melee to Brawl.

How good the player doesn't mean ****. Even if AZ only has a few top-level players, AZ still has a lot of players who play the game.

South Dakota has the worse scene by a long shot, I am the only person I know who plays Melee and in the past only like 5 of my friends played so we only had mini tournaments amongst friends. So I don't think there really has ever been a scene for it here. I am even the only one in this
state that I know of who knows all of the advanced skills. I am also the only person from SD who plays Melee and posts on this site. Although I wish I was wrong. Playing noobs and one player mode doesn't help me get better.........

I have one person in my town thats good and intrested, and one in the next town over. . . Some random kids will play every once and a while, but most are all brawl..

and yea, like romedogg im the only one who has learned l canceling&other AT's. But one of my friends wavedashes...but mostly for show, but its chill.

kc/lawrence area (MO and KS, basically greater Kansas City Area) has a great scene imo. we have about 20 players, a lot of which are veterans, in within like a 200 square mile area i think
