It's impossible to tell anything about whether or not there are G/S remakes in production. Serebii showed covers which looked authentic months ago, and it never came up again (probably because they were fake). I've heard that "Dusk Gold" and "Dawn Silver" have been copyrighted. I've seen a screenshot with Chikorita where the region is Johto. But no word from Nintendo yet on it, so I wouldn't count on one yet.Gold and Silver remakes? Are they possibly in production?
FR and LG released before emerald but after R/S. I don't think thats going to be the same for the remakes. The dates would be far to close and it would cause the feel of the games to be lost. Like when I bought FR and LG at the same time. I't caused me some trouble choosing which game to play and what to do.It's impossible to tell anything about whether or not there are G/S remakes in production. 1.Yeah, that happened to me too. Luckily, I replaced it with another one.I still play Crystal (can't play G/S because their battery died. =/ )
I'd still like to see a game where we go to ALL regions!
It's a spinoff. Enough said.off topic: should a thread be made for Pokemon Ranger:Shadows of Almia be made
I think Platinum, despite some exciting features, will possibly make fourth gen a little better, but still keep it in the same place. I mean, even now I don't really judge the generations...at all by the third game. If they played a huge role, first gen wouldn't be very high at all, and I wouldn't be able to do anything about second gen. Because, you know, I've never played Crystal, because I got the game and the internal battery was dead so I can only get as far as I can before my battery dies. And honestly, I'm not even going to bother putting in the effort so I can have it deleted. For me I think platinum will change fourth gen. to second place.

Made a spin-off thread.

Is there by any chance a way to replace the internal battery?
Nintendo really ought to do something for the tons of people who bought those games and got screwed over because they were cheap and decided to give us a bad internal battery.
Ah, but they probably wouldn't because most likely that's just an issue us geeks and otaku have.
When you take out the battery the game no longer has anything to run on and then deletes your file2nd>1st>>>>4th>3rd
Wait how did changing your battery have anything to do witht the game BK?
3rd has to atleast be in second or third place.2nd>1st>>>>4th>3rd

I was worried that's what happens. I wonder if I should try to replace my Gold's battery now while I'm at the Elite Four and not that far in my PokeDex at all? Crystal won't be a problem, I never had a game on there because I got it and the internal battery was dead.I had to replace my batteryThus resulting in a file deletion. Atleast it works now.
...Wait, you kept it a Quilava at level 98?3rd has to atleast be in second or third place.
BK that really sucks. I never replaced my internal battery on silver, but my file still got deleted. My poor poor level 98 quilava![]()

It really irks me that GameStop sold a basically defective copy of a game to me.
So how'd you get it replaced, Bowser? Did you send it into Nintendo or is there a way to do it yourself?
...Wait, you kept it a Quilava at level 98?
yes, I did actually have a level 98 quilava. Ive never really liked typhlosion very much...Wait, you kept it a Quilava at level 98?
Thanks! That should probably work with Crystal, right? I mean, it's probably built pretty much the same way, and I can see the battery, so...yeah.I replaced it my self. Here's how I did it...http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-pokemon-goldsilve/
hope it helps![]()
I would replace it. The battery is probably going to dry out soon anyway. You could wait for a remake but I would do it just to be safe. Plus you will get a lot of added benefits. You could trade over the starters that you didn't choose (though the obeying probalem comes into play but what I did in emerald was raise and extra 2 pokemon from the start and whenever my pokemon were at the lvl they would stop obeying, I would switch). It's a lot of extra training but it's worth it IMO.Thanks! That should probably work with Crystal, right? I mean, it's probably built pretty much the same way, and I can see the battery, so...yeah.
I'm debating here; do you think I should replace my Gold battery while I'm at it? I mean, I've had it since shortly after it was released, but I don't think I saved all that much. I don't want to replace the battery if it's still pretty good, but then again I'd rather not work a ton on my PokeDex and finishing up my journey to have it erased...
Probably better safe than sorry. I just hope I don't screw anything up or have it accidentally stop touching the tab after I repair it(it says in the guide that if they stop touching, the save file dies).
Yeah, I might as well. Plus, I need to rebuild my team because not having a Flying Pokemon in your team (it's the first time I've ever done so) is a pain. And what better time to do it than...well, before I put in the effort to uberly train them. I tried the Elite Four and I got killed at Karen's second Pokemon (and it was a pain to get there, with none of my Pokemon above 39) so I had to train them.I would replace it. I put a lot of duck tape (DON'T put normal tape, it will come out loose even when you shake it). Make sure your battery is the right one (when I tried it, my battery was a different type so I had to get another one). The tab problem can get scary but with lots of tape, there's very little chances of it happening. All I would recommend is to not shake it and keep away from siblings/kids.
Well I like only them teams and the Battle frontier, thats it, oh and about 7 pokemon, but when Gen 4 brought back some gen1/2 aspects it made you like it moreWhat do people have against third!
It was actually a good one. I don't mind it as much when you make third gen. third, but if anyone is last it should be fourth.
I respect your opinions but I seem to be the only one that defends 3rd gen. so I have to do it
I don't know, I feel the same way. I mean, I put it in third place but it's competing with such awesome games as Red/Blue and Gold/Silver/Crystal -- so being in third doesn't mean anything. Last does, because Fourth gen fails all over the place. What do people have against third!

I hope people have good expectations for 5th gen. If not then our worst nightmare will come. pOKEMON will LIVE off of NOOBS
what you just said makes complete sence. Also, I would want to wait for 5th gen. so Nintendo can have a chance to realize that they are making Pokmon way to easy.I don't care if noobs play or not, as long as I'm playing with my friends who've been playing since the 90's or have at least played a few gen's then I'm good.
I agree with the above poster to.
Let people who weren't here for the Second Gen get a remake.
It'll give them a chance to see a whole new story, and it'll give us oldies a chance to view GSC in the NDS' beauty.
Now that is a dumb reason to not like a game. But I really don't understand the third gen hate. My friend refuses to even play the third gen games ... I'm sure he gave me reasons but when he told me this I was sort of in disbelief so I don't remember anything, other than your dad being a Gym Leader (apparently he's not supposed to exist?).
We're pretty much talking about the games here, not the TV Show. I think most of us would agree that the anime stopped being good around Johto.FIRST GENERATION for GOD TIER!!!
SECOND GEN. for TOP TIER
FIFTH FOR MIDDLE tier
THIRD & FOURTH for bottom tier
but seriously, IMO I really don't care for the newer generations which I lost my interest for the long, long ago, I say this because the anime just isn't the same as it used to be, the first generation of pokemon was just EPIC since it included a bunch of mu favorites such as Squirtle, Charizard, Mewtwo, etc.., and the gym battles, how awesome where those, especially the Earth Badge which is like my ALL TIME FAVORITE
Second Generation is alright which took place in Johto, I indeed liked some of the pokemon, and enjoyed seeing some newer additions to the line-up of 151, especially some of the Legends such as Ho-oh, whose Identity was finally revealed since making his appearance on the first episode of Pokemon.
as third came along, I did enjoy some of the pokemon such as Blaziken & Treeko, but I was beggining to "grow out" of this since IMO it was getting kinda of old and stupid seeing that they would never stop with Pokemon, and this folks, is where I lost interest in seeing any future generations, which I could care less
okay then if that's the case, then I have to go with what I stated before which would be:We're pretty much talking about the games here, not the TV Show. I think most of us would agree that the anime stopped being good around Johto.
I'm getting Diamond and Pearl, but overall I would stick with R/S/E (Emerald is the best), unless of course you're a graphics and features guy.okay then if that's the case, then I have to go with what I stated before which would be:
Red/Blue/Yellow Fire Red/Green Leaf for GOD Tier!
why you may ask? because this is where it all began, Red( the trainer) began his quest on alongside with his rival Blue, and I think the whole plot was simply awesome, Team Rocket taking over Saffron, Pikachu following you around (in yellow) and not to mention the best duel ever! Red vs. Giovanni at the viridian Gym which was just epic, plus the Elite Four at the end, especially Lance was one of the coolest theme songs i've ever heard, plus after the end of the game, how cool was it to go back to the previously unaccesible unknown dungeon to capture my favorite pokemon of all time, yea that's right it's Mewtwo.
Gold/Silver/Crystal:
this sequel to the series of games was awesome, especially playing as a new male trainer (Gold) or female trainer in crystal, along with this came a new Rival (silver) who in the beginning had snatched of of Elm's starter pokemon and had kinda of a rowdy attitude, anyway these new sequels had new features such as the Day/Night system in real time which allowed for certain events to happen at certain Days/Times which gave it a twist for enjoyment on my part, the overall plot wasn't as good as it was in R/B/Y, but still awesome enough to see what was next, one thing I was dissapointed to see is that the Elite Five this time around was WAY TOO EASY, I was expecting a challenge but oh well. IMO it was good seeing and visiting the Kanto region which had brought alot of memories, plus seeing old faces faces such as Brock and Blue, speaking of Blue, it should have been Giovanni as the Viridian gym leader since I like missed him, but yea the best part of the game I enjoed was the Final Fight against Pokemon Trainer Red which was epic!
as for Ruby/ Sapphire I never got to really finish it since well.. I lacked interest in it, but I am willing to give it another chance this time around, as for Diamond and Pearl I hear it's a great game and seeing i've never played it, who has a suggestion of what I should play
Ruby/Sapphire or Diamond/ Pearl
I'm with this. If you're debating between R/S/E and D/P, stick with R/S/E. Emerald is the best, but I think the others are great as well. Diamond and Pearl have just about one thing that make me want to play it over anything else; the Physical/Special difference. The fact that Fire Punch is physical and Hyper Beam is Special just makes sense. Other than that, R/S/E wins for me. Diamond and Pearl have slightly improved graphics, but honestly, the pseudo-3D doesn't look that much better. The game is extraordinarily easy, I beat it in 20 hours using one Pokemon after I'd only played through the game...what, 2 times before?I'm getting Diamond and Pearl, but overall I would stick with R/S/E (Emerald is the best), unless of course you're a graphics and features guy.
You have a LOT more to accomplish in R/S/E than what you'd expect though and that's what I like about it.
It is pretty easy, I'll admit.
But then again I hear D/P are easier.
Also --- from what I've seen so far the D/P pokemon look terrible (except Piplup)
