Was this the one I answered in the PM? Just wondering because if you need further help, I could PM you with more info.
Yeah, you answered it. I pretty much got it. I managed to replace my Gold's battery without much issue. My Crystal I'm still trying to work out...while I was trying to get the bottom tab off of the battery, I broke the tab off of the cartridge altogether. Hopefully if I'm able to just make it stay I can get it to work.

Cool :). Have fun beating it again. That sucks what happened to your crystal :(. You're probably going to have to send that in for repairs or have an expert fix it.

Yeah...but I'm going to try liquid sodder and see if that works on it, first.

On the bright side, my Crystal version was never working so it's not like I lost something, which I would've if my Gold Version had broken.

I loved the 2nd gen. It felt very Japanese... and there were 16 gyms which was awesome ^^ I dislike R/S/E though. Too many legendaries, no story behind them and I don't know why but the graphics didn't appeal to me like the 1st and 2nd gens did. D/P was okay, but once again, too many legendaries. At least you don't have to water each berry individually in D/P...

What I liked most about the first two games though was not knowing about EVs and IVs and all that stuff. Simply playing for the fun. Nowadays I constantly worry about my pokémon having the right nature and EVs... which sort of takes the fun away >< Except in multiplayer battles, that is.

My favorite was 2nd gen.

Kantos AND Johto baby! Two regions and a fight with Red at the end and blue was a gym leader? Nice. Had a good balance of pokemon and story and team rocket were baddass.

Crystal was the best pokemon game ever made imo.

I have the fondest memories of Silver... :] I remember waiting for months, seeing teasers in magazines, and finally the fateful morning when I got it! Generation II was the best... It was the only one, with the exception of XD, that was a continuing story... And two regions along with 16 badges was awesome. Not to mention that was the peak of my love for Pokemon. It introduced so much too! 2 new types, babies, berries, different forms, hold items, new evos. After GSC, I just felt like Pokemon didn't have the magic it did before. I mean, RSE only had two pokemon, Azurill and Wynaut, that were related to Pokemon before. Barely any mention to the other regions or characters... It was like Hoenn was on another planet. No day changing, and a very chopped up Pokedex. I was very disappointed. DP are decent...but still no GSC. I feel like Pokemon is running out of good ideas, but still trying to push bad ones. I dunno, thoughts?

Generation 3 for me.
I liked the Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza plot a lot (Emerald) and for my first game (Ruby), I just loved how much better the graphics were than Crystal. (Though now they bore me. :p)

Ur my favorite person in the whole wide world.

Crystal pawned. Suicune had been so kick ***, and then as if the world revolved around me, they made a game half-way dedicated to him PAWNAGE.

Second gen was the best--why?

They stuck to the old-school pokemon style, while adding nice little touches here and there. the concept of new pokemon and a new place was itself a new ideaand a great one at that (now it's getting old, even though technically it's getting new). 2nd Gen. rocked my socks off.

Breeding=awesome, and NOT a pain really.
Legendaries=bad *** as well.

Hmmm Feraligatr=most pawnsome starter EVER. He's my fav. starter (treecko in 2nd place), and really my fav. pokemon (tied with that lazy *******, Snorlax :) ). I pawned EVERYONE with my team, Feraligatr reaching 100 long before the others :).

I beat Red for fun using just Feraligatr :)

Sorry, I enjoy bragging about my Feraligatr, he's just that awesome..

Oh yeah and I cloned suicune, lugia and snorlax for my bro (who had gold version, me getting silver), and he did the same for ho-oh and typhlosion. We helped each other get scizor and steelix (he, scizor; I, steelix), and the liek...

Sorry I'm just feeling very nistolgic--the 2nd gen. just kicked *** :).

You know whats really ********? Nostalgia. Pokemon Gen 1 was definitely amazing in terms of what a game could but honestly, its really not that great. It was shallow, the pokemon sprites were not original(Diglet/Dugtrio. Magnemite/Magneton. Voltorb/Electrode. Koffing/Weezing, etc etc.) In terms of game play, it was way simple(mostly because that's how it had to be) but unlike other genre's, the platformer for example, simple doesn't stand the test of time. Gen 2 was probably the best of the 4 as it was much deeper than the first(the splitting of SpAtk and SpDef meant you didn't absolutely HAVE to use Alakazam even if he was still good, and it made many more pokemon usable) From there I would probably put Gen 4 just because of the Special Attack/Physical attack switch. While this switch did hurt a few pokemon, it definitely made significantly more pokemon usable than before.

I'll say the 4th generation is the best one, I love most of the new Pokemon there and the battles as well.

4th>2nd>3rd>1st

Everybody's gotta hate on the 4th Gen, but when it comes to the Pokemon, no set's better than 4th Gen.
Especially when Platinum comes out.

1st Gen just got the series started, but compared to today, it totally blows.

Now why doesn't 2nd Gen fit with 1st Gen, cause battle system was improved, and a lengthy adventure to go along with it; although it's the weakest Pokemon set.

3rd Gen was meh.
