Well now that mango is past apex im hoping I can get to c9 through him and get them to help out with his cost to come here, meaning more money going down.

Other incentives coming very shortly should also hopefully generate more donations and allow more players to come to while also giving people even more back.

Hey, I'm a smasher from Perth who is interested in coming to Bam 7, but I can't find any cheap accommodation through the internet. Does anyone have advice on cheap hotels in the area or where to possibly find someone to house me? At the moment I can afford to fly myself over but it's looking like accommodation will stop me from being able to attend.

I'm going to be booking 2-3 rooms at either the CQ (or whatever the hell the hotel is called that the venue is at), or one very close to it that'll be 4/5 star; I'm probably safe to host 15 people (5 per room) with it costing nobody else anything; if you want you can stay with the people I'm already going to be hosting (probably a couple of overseas players as well).
The worst off I imagine is people might end up having to sleep on a couch or in a double bed with each other; but that was no problem last time (though last time I refused to share my bed, but eh, if a lot of people do wanna take me up on this offer, I 'spose I can, no funny business tho, my bf would be too happy and I want him miserable).

Note: I'm not actually from Melbourne, just helping with some hosting (even for people in Vic who live far out), and the rooms I'm booking should be for 3 nights.
I will try to set up some smash for friendlies as well, but nothing really fancy will happen regarding that I would imagine based on the last time I dealt with CQ (apparently I flooded I bathroom which I still think Phil tripped out and imagined tbh). <3

Anyway, I already have about 5-6 people confirmed already (plus the winner(s) from QLD's tourney coming up), so I'm just more of a "free hotel", though I won't care if people pay like $50 to stay for the 3 nights, as that's what happened the last time I did this back in 2010 or 2011 - it is not necessary however.

So, basically, there are 8-9 spots left; though certain people are excluded because well, either I, or people I'm staying with think they're whiny, but that list is pretty short and most of them know who they are; this doesn't apply to newbies obviously; all I ask is that people clean up crap if they do stay in one of the rooms or I'll get violent and unleash some pain - since people come to expect that from me anyway <3.

Also if Luke/Ted/Zxv and such are coming, I'm forcing them to take up my offer.
Since I've said you can I'll have space for you unless you state otherwise, but really anyone is free to ask, just don't expect every person to be able to stay (esp if it's the CQ, I got into a legal *****-fight with them last time over "people in the room").

Tl;dr - I'm going to host people even though it's not in my state in a hotel free of charge, you're free to take the offer, but regardless, I have been meaning to tell someone other than Phil and the ones that are staying with me anyway.

Also it's probably possible to fit more than 5 people in a room, but obviously some people would need to sleep on the floor and such, but that's hardly uncommon with Smash related majors, especially one of this magnitude.
Oh dear, didn't realize Ted/Luke had some issues, baww; had such fond memories of those two together...still like 'em both equally so yer, I just haven't seen anyone from the NSW/ACT scene in like 4 years.
I would say Vic as well, but I saw Phil late last year at the casino after some SA smash thing I couldn't attend and another Vic smasher apparently at EVO last year, though I can't remember his name/tag (he seemed to like watching Melee matches more than playing 'em like me though).

Edit: Reason I say QLDers (or people from NSW) is because WA (in both cases of me being in chats, for SS and then for some SA thing which Redact attended) have had at least 3 sour people from that state (not including obvious ones like literal shy-guy Alzi who just bungs on an act, I mean people I've likely never met that are dedicated Nova fans based solely on "rumors", all of them besides 1, who was from SA [lol], were from WA) who act like I'm the smash Anti-Christ - so apart from like 2 people from that state, one being the newbie who just asked, this deal doesn't apply to anyone from WA.
I wouldn't want to disappoint WA by not appearing to be as much as a jerk or a smash Anti-Christ as possible.

Edit 2: Also I will preference people who do say they'll do the $50 thing, but anyone (Gords, Izz, people who are already staying) told that they can stay don't need to worry about it, their housing (so to speak) is guaranteed.

I'm not sure if I've met you, but I used to be (and ran and pretty much paid for SA's largest smash tourney), but I've been out of the SA scene for about 3-4 years, so if you're a new player, I probably haven't.
Regardless, I said I'd probably meet Kai and Nicks (Melee players) at some stage (hopefully before March), and I'm likely going to book 2-3 hotel rooms which I'll be hosting people free in as close to the venue as possible; you should be able to take advantage of that.

Hey Nova, sorry it took me forever to reply, I got distracted doing important things like sleeping and playing smash.

Somebody confirmed that you're a real person shortly after I asked for confirmation so that's all settled, but I've actually found some cheap accommodation now and I'll be booking my flights by the end of the week. I won't be taking up space in one of your rooms, but consider me confirmed for being a buster and not making it out of pools at BAM 7.
