At the end of the day, it's a decision on whether you believe in Ibaka's potential currently. He has a year left on his contract after this season, so we'll learn a bit more about him next year. There's no doubt in my mind he has a lot of potential, but I need to see that potential come to fruition. A lot of GMs make terrible decisions when they throw money at a player who has yet to be proven.

Btw, if they let Harden walk, he could be a good fit with the Hornets + Anthony Davis. Them and the Mavs are currently the two teams I figure could make a run for him in a few years assuming Dallas doesn't get Deron this year.

Though I don't think Dirk will tolerate "tanking" another season lol.

ibaka's getting killed on the boards though.

I don't like any argument based around assists because I just don't value that stat as highly as scoring or rebounding.
assists are like RBI's in that to some extent they say how good your teammates are, but we all know magic was an amazing passer that actually led his teammates to good spots and layups and what not. plus its not like magic couldnt score. when he was called upon, he could score plenty. pretty sure he has a handful of 40+ point games.

i think MJ was the best, i just dont think its as absurd as tv sports personalities make it seem.

Yeah, it's not that far between him and whoever you want as #2 (Magic?) I mean...if you look at his stats against Utah in the Finals. He was actually...below average. People only bring up that push off game winner though.

Random food for thought, but let's just assume for a second that OKC somehow comes back and wins this series. At this rate, who is your Finals MVP?

I would actually consider WB, because I feel like he's been the most consistent, while defending Wade, and has been more of a reason why they are in close games as opposed to not in them.

For a 6'3 guard, he is...

shooting 48%, 7 boards, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 28 ppg. Also 2.5 turnovers per game. And like I said, he's guarding Wade and limiting him pretty well.

Durant on the other hand...

55% shooting, 5 boards, 2 assists, 1 block, 1 steal, and 30 ppg. Also 3 turnovers per game.

The 2 cases I can make against WB is that he struggles properly running the team at times, and gives empty posssessions. Furthermore, he also struggles with getting KD involved as well.

For KD, he hasn't guarded LBJ well, he's gotten into foul trouble, and he tends to aggressive most when it's crunch time. Otherwise, he just plays within the "flow" of the game.

Also, I know Harden can be clutch as evidenced by his play in other big games prior to this series...but scary ready about him when he was in college...

In the Pac-10 Championship game (a loss to USC) and the first two games of the NCAA Tournament (win vs. Temple, loss to Syracuse), Harden shot a combined 6-27 and averaged just under 10 points per game. The USC game recap says he missed a free throw, a layup and a three-pointer in the final 50 seconds, a fact that I can't recall but…well…whatever.

total Wins Produced also gives Westbrook a small edge over durant this series. the problem is, he's derped pretty hard late game a couple times now, and he's suddenly the media scapegoat for losing. he's shaping up to be the NBAs next "villian"

I don't really see him as a "villain" per say. People have been scrutenizing him going back to last year's playoffs. Not as a villain as much as..."stop being stupid" sort of thing. And I also think the error on the errant pass in Game 3 was more on Sefolosha than WB. Even if you split it 50/50, I still feel like they have a chance to win games in the first place cause WB goes so hard the entire time, while Durant paces himself.

I mean, it's inexcusable how a guy who has such a long armspan to only be getting 5 re's per game. Dude needs to man up.

Hoping the Heat close it out tonight so I can divorce myself from the NBA once and for all. But wouldn't be surprised to see the Thunder win in 7.

yeah i dont blame westbrook for that pass. my take on the play was that the thunder were hoping lebron would try to shadow kd to start, and take advantage of the wade on kd mismatch that occurs after westbrook sets the screen. the heat instead started Wade on KD, and it ended up being wade on WB after the switch with lebron. lebron's too big to pass over or around him. so the play goes to the second option (WB) in the corner. unfortunately for okc, lebron repositioned haslem to cut off the corner inbound. WB abandoned the draw up for the easy pass into the wing, but thabo stuck to it despite the crowded corner.

no ones fault. heat just played it perfectly to create miscommunication.

but most people dont see it that way. just look at the title of the youtube vid:

Yeah, this game is pretty much over. OKC's youth and inexperience definitely hurting them in the Finals. They'll be the favorites coming out of the West again next year. Outside of the growth from Memphis and the Clippers, I don't see anyone really challenging them out there barring trades or signings.

Congrats to LBJ. He really deserved this. Played like the guy I expected him to play like.

Every year people write off the Spurs and every year they are proven wrong. Best record in the Western Conference two consecutive years yet there's no challenge for the Thunder? Good luck.

^That was funny.

Miller and those 3 pointers. That's amazing.

I'm amazed at how Miami has played this series. I wasn't expecting players like Miller, Battier, and Chalmers to step things up like they did. With Lebron playing as great as he has been for the series, the help of the supporting cast leads to the nail in the coffin.

well folks, that's all she wrote. even on the brink of elimination, everyone still had faith in OKC to at least pull out one more, but they buckled.

better luck next year!

i already cant wait for next season.

I forgot about the Spurs, but unless they get better, I don't see them as a threat to OKC.

It's no secret they aren't the defensive team they've been in years past. TP, while an MVP candidate this year, is not a true take over player. Duncan and Ginobili will be another year older. Leonard has some upside. Duncan is the anchor of their defense, and Splitter hasn't shown that he can carry the torch. They might end up with a top 2-3 seed, but it's no secret that run and gun teams don't win championships.

But overall, I just see that the West is declining unless the Mavs acquire Deron Williams, they will be irrelevant as well.

OKC will be the team "on a mission", so that's why I see them going back.

Btw, someone needs to make a gif of LeBron jumping on the sidelines.

Hahaha, you could work at ESPN! You're the definition of a talking head.

It has been enjoyable guys. This is a good way to go out. No looking back! Rest in Peace NBA. See you guys around the way.

EDIT: Nevermind. You get a prorated refund for canceling it. Cool.

In two years I got to witnesses the evolution of an all time great. LeBeon literally improved in nearly every aspect of his game from last year including his psychological fortitude. He let me down big time last year but damn he really came back with a vengeance... Im still shocked.

Looking back would you guys consider his Game 6 45/15/5 against the Celtics his greatest ever? Considering the stakes at hand and the level of dominance he displayed I'd most certainly think so. Without that performance the Heat go from NBA champs to absolute failures.

Regardless I'm extremely excited for LeBron and the Heat's future. They finally got the monkey off their backs and can play basketball a lot more loosely now. Honestly with the right roster upgrades (and Wade slowing his decline) I think the Heat have a good shot at repeating.

You criticize others for making empty statements, yet you do one yourself. Has there been a team recently that has won the championship playing run and gun? Last I could think of was the Showtime Lakers.

@TRG, yeah I would say Game 6 vs Boston would go down as an all time important/greatest game.

1. LeBron's legacy on the line
2. Coach Spo's job on the line
3. D-Wade's...well he had something on the line.

I need to listen to the First Take podcast when I can. Been ignoring that show for a while, because I feel like Bayless would get on my nerves. What has been saying about LBJ these last few games?

And WB for that matter lol.

That was alright. You hyped me up too much lol. I agree with Cuban on some premises, and while I don't bother with the term "one team wanted it more", there were at times I questioned Durant's level of intensity compared to LBJ's on the defensive end. One example would be that Durant came out and rebounded last night, but that was no where to be seen in the series prior to that.

And as much as Cuban was trying to give his Mavs credit, LBJ did shrink in the waning moments of the fourth last year. Heck, call it a two way street. There's no way he plays average or what not for 3 quarters, and then all of a sudden decides to hang out around the 3 point line the entire fourth quarter. His touches went down. His drives to the hoop went down. And we all saw that bold stat of how many points he scored total in the 4th quarter of last year's Finals.

I would honestly not expect TP9 to be so petty. IMO, the club, Drake, and CB should be all sued. They are all accountable. In other news...I lol'ed at Battier.
