this would also imply the RPG characters like Vivian and Goombella and Dreambert. The thought of that already has be droolingI wish Mario Kart would just spread its horizons to the spin-offs. I'd love myself some Warioware and Tropical Freeze themed tracks. As well as getting fellows like K. Rool, Ashley and Poochy playable.
...Except they've never revealed any new characters at tournaments; why would this be any different?I think that tournament, in my opinion, is the most likely place they will reveal the characters
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RldYgkgmgXs&t=381sSora got deconfirmed from someone pretty high on KH's food chain, iirc.
I'm going to disagree with this. The Game Awards is a very particular venue in which lots of companies get to share the stage for their announcements and sort of operates as neutral ground. A Microsoft E3 press conference is definitely nothing like that and having watched the past several years of conferences, them making a big deal about Banjo Kazooie in Smash on their main stage would just seem really damn awkward and out of place. Even when paired with a bigger Banjo announcement for Xbox, it just comes off as the wrong timing since Smash is so definitively Nintendo's game. It's not their announcement to make even if they have a major hand in making it happen.I think it'll be shown during the Microsoft conference, just like how Joker was revealed during the game awards and not during a direct.
Erdrick has more than Steve. He's got Tansut backing him. He's got Vergeben directly stating Erdrick is in which Steve never even came close to having. Dragon Quest also has an arguably more expansive history that's directly important to Japan too (and Smash has been a game that has always emphasized Japan and it's third parties as the primary focus of characters and IPs). There's also much more Dragon Quest related content releasing in the near future than Minecraft with special content coming to the Switch with the Definitive Edition of Dragon Quest 11. I think he's in a much stronger place than Steve ever was to be honest.come to think of it.. your totally right. Erdrick doesn't really have anything more going for him than steve did a month ago. Its like a case of when the same thing gets repeated enough people start to believe it which is what they do in politics and stuff. Repeat a lie enough times and it becomes the truth. Really though I do think a square rep is a pretty safe bet, and I really hope erdrick is leakbait for a better SE rep which could be likely considering SE's rep with leaks.
Or Donkey Kong Racing. What if RARE's new multiplayer game was Diddy Kong Racing 2!? Just random thoughts from yours truly.
Also, can't wait to see what Playtonic has in store for tomorrow! This E3 is going to be rad, I can feel it.
Jasmine would be best girl, top tier all the way!I know the decision to make Jasmine a Zelda echo was a controversial one but frankly I'm here for it!
I wonder if Banjo would use Kazooie as a bat in Mario Superstar Baseball? It would've been very funny!I feel the same way, if Banjo was still here, he would appear in almost all Mario spin offs and maybe some mainline Mario titles
Imagine having Geno in Mario Kart before Smashthis would also imply the RPG characters like Vivian and Goombella and Dreambert. The thought of that already has be drooling
I'd be okay with this.Imagine having Geno in Mario Kart before Smash
That would be epic as well.Imagine having Geno in Mario Kart before Smash
The problem is even if Banjo was a Mario character, there's no guarantee he would be used. The Mario universe has an insane amount of defined characters even before dipping into the Wario and dK worlds, many with personalities and plenty of fans. Then the kart and sports games give us Metal Mario, Cat Peach, a honey bee, common enemies, more babies, Pink Gold Peach, etc. And then they go to unconnected universes like Inkling or Zelda to fill the roster. Why go there instead of using DK or Wario or even Yoshi characters? Or on top of those characters? Their obession against using the RPG characters in spin-offs is bizarre. Even mainline games are inconsistent. Look at Tennis. Pauline comes back, is a big name in Oddessy, then she's put to DLC while common enemies make it into base. I doubt she'll be used beyond that, but make sure a cheep cheep is priority in base roster additions.True, But that's the only one time in Mario Kart's 25 year history (MK 8 DX 2017) they made an appearance, Diddy Kong should be a regular ,But for whatever reason Nintendo has him as a semi-regular, But like I said Diddy is part of the Donkey Kong franchise in which DK has always appeared in Mario Spinoffs.
But Banjo-Kazooie isn't part of the "Core" Mario cast or super close to it like DK to be in them regularly, But can definitely make a guest appearence once or twice for special occasions like Inkling or Isabelle in Mario Kart 8 DX.
Yeah, people seem to think they can influence reality like the rumor phenomenon in Persona 2. Although I personally think a SE character might not be as likely as people think, seeing how much of a hurdle it was to bring back Cloud as it is, with the stuff he comes with.come to think of it.. your totally right. Erdrick doesn't really have anything more going for him than steve did a month ago. Finally, someone who gets it. It won't be any different than the last time there's been a Smash/MTA tourney, so I don't expect news to roll in until E3 proper starts. They don't need to overshadow showings for Splatoon 2 and Super Mario Maker 2....Except they've never revealed any new characters at tournaments; why would this be any different?
Well, true, but they did show the Octo Expansion DLC at a Splatoon 2 tournament. So I think showing our next big DLC fighter at a tournament, in front of a live audience, is a great idea!...Except they've never revealed any new characters at tournaments; why would this be any different?
That would’ve been hilariousI w

Don't lose hope, bud. Think about it. What was the one argument put against us again and again? Minecraft and Halo are much bigger franchises, yet we are getting Banjo and Kazooie in as a fighter! Just because DQ is a bigger franchise that does not gurentee them a spot, we learned that now with how Banjo is more likely than ever before. Megaman got in dispite Street Fighter being a much bigger franchise. Don't lose hope, maybe they'll surprise us with a different Squeenix rep.Eeeh, I still think that Erdrick or whoever else the Dragon Quest rep will be is still the most likely Square character.
Final Fantasy should be done with Cloud, since 3d party series do far have only gotten one character each, or two if the second one is an echo (though I fully expect this "rule" to be disproven, sooner or later).
Sora got deconfirmed from someone pretty high on KH's food chain, iirc.
Geno and Crono could happen, but DQ is just a bigger series than either Mario RPG or Chrono Trigger and is also being heavily pushed by both Nintendo and Square.
My personal want is Crono. I need to smash with Corridors of time as the background music, and CT is just such a great game, and its universe is so appealing and interesting, uugh.
But I'm fine with DQ. It's a little plain, but having such an historical series in your crossover game is always cool. Plus, it's the closest we'll get to a playable Crono.
I really hope they do it one day, too many times have they missed that opportunity.Well, true, but they did show the Octo Expansion DLC at a Splatoon 2 tournament. So I think showing our next big DLC fighter at a tournament, in front of a live audience, is a great idea!
I do think that Chrono could also happen, at worst for a second pass or the next game and at best as part of this pass.Don't lose hope, bud. Dragon Quest is much like Final Fantasy where it has assets owned by many different companies so if Erdrick is announced, we'll probably get two music tracks just like with Midgar.Yeah, people seem to think they can influence reality like the rumor phenomenon in Persona 2. Although I personally think a SE character might not be as likely as people think, seeing how much of a hurdle it was to bring back Cloud as it is, with the stuff he comes with.
I find that possible, but I honestly don't mind.Dragon Quest is much like Final Fantasy where it has assets owned by many different companies so if Erdrick is announced, we'll probably get two music tracks just like with Midgar.
E3 is a venue in which companies show off their announcements, it's not that different than the game awards. ANd it could also be that a quick clip is shown, ala Joker, during the microsoft conference and the rest of B&K would be shown during the Nintendo conference. And B&K is a microsoft character, so it make sense to tease(even a slight tease) B&K for Smash than Nintendo shows off the rest. Though anything could happen, we will see.I'm going to disagree with this. What I'm saying is, don't panic if Banjo Kazooie in Smash isn't seen at Microsoft's conference. It's just not their venue for that sort of content.
Banjo & Kazooie having strong roots as N64 icons and being one of the most requested characters in the past 20 years makes them really deserve it, even if they get in before Chief and Steve. I wish people would stop seeing other characters as competition that shouldn't get in just because their character is of a higher caliber of legacy. This is a video game, not exactly the freaking hall of fame.Don't lose hope, bud. Okay, but just because they did that for one game doesn't guarantee that they'll do the same for another game. The closest we've had to a showcase at a tournament was when Corrin and Bayonetta were made playable at the end of a Smash 4 tournament, and even then, they had already been shown off and talked about.Well, true, but they did show the Octo Expansion DLC at a Splatoon 2 tournament. So I think showing our next big DLC fighter at a tournament, in front of a live audience, is a great idea!
I do agree.I gotta say, with this surge of info coming in, I'm glad I bought the Fighter's Pass.
I was worried once talks of Steve and Erdrick were circulating for so long that I made a bad purchase, or at least one where it wasn't going to get a lot of use.
But Banjo would be a great character to join the roster. And here's hoping we get Rareware Spirits and not just Banjo Spirits (just give me a Spirit Battle where I can fight Juno, Vela, and Lupus).
I agree with this, I dont expect Microsoft's E3 to show off Banjo in smash at all, its Nintendo's game, they should be the ones to show Banjo off.so it make sense to tease(even a slight tease) B&K for Smash than Nintendo shows off the rest.
I know right:I can’t wait to see the Nintendo store audience reaction. Those people go nuts.
That's true, and I'd really love Crono, but I'm absolutely fine with Erdrick.Don't lose hope, bud. Think about it. What was the one argument put against us again and again? Minecraft and Halo are much bigger franchises, yet we are getting Banjo and Kazooie in as a fighter! Gonna be honest, Ovaltine is the main reason I support Geno outside of how I like the character. That's true, and I'd really love Crono, but I'm absolutely fine with Erdrick.
He'd actually be my 2nd pick after Crono, I think. I'd prefer Geno, though, because his fans deserve a victory.
Watching the Everyone is here! reactions was great. They cheered so loudly when the Ice Climbers came on.I can’t wait to see the Nintendo store audience reaction. Those people go nuts.
