Best Buy is OP please nerf. It has Simon's projectile game, Villager's recovery, Cloud's Limit AND Joker's Persona (although instead of Arsene it's called "La Cultura de la Basura"), has some of the best frame data in the game (down aerial which is a spike comes at frame 1, dash attack comes at frame 2, etc) I don't know what was in Sakurai's head when thought this was okay.
Best Buy is Too Big

and a character from gacha mobil game?
This would've never happened. Marth and Roy were planned on being exclusive to Japanese Melee, Lucas only got added because Sakurai didn't know Mother 3 was Japanese exclusive, and he banished Takamaru to the AT Realm because his game was Japan only.

Perhaps this spacing between fighters was to reveal the 2nd and 3rd challengers in the same presentation.
I've got a gut feeling that the Brave reveal will either be dropping immediately or very very soon at E3. 3rd reveal will possibly be a few months down the line but will be revealed at the tail end of E3 as a surprise.

It's nice to think sakurai cares about us westerners too. But wouldn't this hurt edricks chances too? Unless his game isn't japan only

To be fair, Hitagi did retract most of these claims (Steve is the only one their going all in on)

Also, two of them were directly proven false so I think Hitagi is a never was.
Which points? Saying that he didn't hear of any SMT reps is very different from a hard deconfirm (same with the TGA announcement)

The only mainline DQ that's didn't come West is 10 the MMO so Erdrick's game is available to us and in fact there's multiple versions.

I have lowered expectations, and I surely expect only one character to be revealed in the Direct. I don’t think we’ve had big news happen near the end of E3, I believe the closest in recent memory was Samus Returns, which was a surprise to happen after the Direct, but still same day. There’s still plenty of time to space out the four DLC characters through this year.

the head of rare not only turned down a a BK/BT remake but said to just go play a hat in time/yookalaylee/mario odessy/ Crash remakes instead that there is no reason for a remake with all those games out & with the XBLA vertions of BK/BT games on gamepass

This is why I hold nothing but contempt for modern day rare. In fact why should we play sea of thieves? If I wanted to play an underwhelming, overpriced, sandbox game with nothing to do, I'll just go and play no man's sky, rust, ark survival evolved and atlas. Actually I take that back, at least there's things to do in those games.

Edit: If I wanted to play a pirate game that's actually good... assassin's creed black flag. There is no reason for sea of disappointment to exist rare.

It's almost like there is demand for those types of games.

It's almost like there is demand for HD remakes of classic games.

It's almost like people want them.

I feel that modern Rare is too far into the whole “power of the console” gimmick.

Now I will give Rare Replay since it is a fun compilation (should I post my personal thoughts on all thirty games in this thread?), but good gameplay over powerful graphics any day of the week.

How cool would it be if microsoft gave banjo the "n.sane" treatment? A complete remake of kazooie and tooie.

Don't think it'll happen, but a man can dream
I would love to see Banjo-Kazooie make a comeback on the same level of Crash Bandicoot, Remember when there was so much hype for his long awaited return? Sales wise it broke over 10 million, While being multiplatform helps that's still very impressive for a once dead franchise and now Crash Team Racing is also getting remastered which should also do very well sales wise too, Now that the IP has been successfully revived and thriving it looks like Activision has future plans for the franchise and Crash Bandicoot once again has a spotlight in the modern video game landscape.

While not of the level of Mario or even Sonic (To a much lesser extent) ,It's great to see a new generation playing and loving Crash as we did back in the late 90's and early 2000's and I would love for the same thing to happen to Banjo-Kazooie.

Rare: *covers ears*
LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! LA LA LA LA! GO BUY THIS SHIP MOUNT THAT LOOKS LIKE BANJO THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY ACTUAL MONEY FOR!

I sincerely hope banjo is in, so rare can see people clamour for them and prove them wrong.

Rare LOVES playing towards nostalgia when it's convenient for them. But overall they just don't give a **** about their old properties. A Banjo reference that will get them money in the game they want to push? They will do it. An actual game? Hell no. There is a reason why Microsoft is letting other companies do things with rare properties.

We gotta remember a very large portion of the people who made these old IPs are gone so they don't have the attachment to the series. Hopefully, some other group of devs will recognize the goldmine Rare is sitting on and utilize those characters.

Youd think they would want to get all up in that remastering market cash. Though I'd rather Nintendo buy Rare, I guess this the best we can hope for. Good thing Phil's making the decisions here.

On another note, is there more to Sabi's words about IDC? I feel like there's a little more as to why Sabi supports IDC's claims. Guess I just want to hear more about what makes IDC's deleted tweets credible.

If Rare Replay does indeed come to Switch we need to show Rare just how much more we’re interested in their classic IPs than Sea of Thieves (buy the crap out of it!)

I feel like Sabi might be getting into some guarded territory with the Rare Replay stuff. Like "I need to be careful or people/Nintendo/Microsoft is going to figure out the source". I think Rare Replay was supposed to be a lock and key secret. Meaning not many people would know about it. So she is trying to be careful in not saying to much.

Of course that is just speculation. Also possible the source is just being super vague.

The only thing I want rare to do with theirs ip's, is sell em. Give them to someone that has the passion and talent to do them justice. Give it to playtonic. Say what you will about yooka-layley, but that game had passion. I trust them with banjo MUCH more than I do with rare.

I reckon the only reason why rare still clings to their old properties, is because that's all they're known for. When ever rare is brought into a conversation, what do people talk about? Sea of thieves? Kinect sports? **** no, they talk about banjo, ki, conker ect. No one gives a **** about what rare is doing now, they only care about what they did back then. If rare sells their old ip's, they're nostalgia bait is gone, and they'll be forgotten.

Hitagi's most infamous moment for me was when they claimed that "insulting me is also insulting Verge".

Well gee, way to go, you sure know how to take criticism, it's not like you needed thicker skin or anything.
haha, well joke's on them. I can insult hamburglar all day. :4pacman:

Didn't hitagi say something along the lines of "banjo wasn't even considered"?
Because Hitagi's great knowledge expands to even knowing what characters are planned and considered and who hasn't even been brought up in said planning.

Man Hitagi must have some deep connections to have that level of knowledge, his source must be in secret meetings with Nintendo & Sakurai and glance over his shoulder at the list of Nintendos chosen Smash characters!

You know I saw one of those new Banjo-Kazooie plushies at Gamestop today. The bighead classic design one? But they were trying to sell it for $25 for a small plushie that could fit in the palm of my hand so I had to pass up on it.

It was really cool to see Banjo-Kazooie merch in stores though.

Most of the people working at Playtonic Games are the same people that made a lot of the classic N64 Rare games including Banjo-Kazooie. It would be perfect if they got all the Rare properties.

I bought it because we really never get any Rare merchandise. We really are starting to see this now though, but through out the years of course.

Rare are working on some sort of project that isn't just Sea of Thieves or Battletoads.

Hopefully we see it at E3.

Weird. If you're talking about the Stubbins, it's only 15 dollars out this way. (Pennsylvania) Might still be more than some would be willing to pay admittedly, but I personally feel it's worth it. I get to show support for my beloved franchise plus I get yet another goodie to add to the B-K shelf :)

My current prediction (it is constantly changing though):

1. Joker of course
2. Slime (Dragon Quest)
3. Banjo & Kazooie (Banjo-Kazooie)
4. Character from new Retro game as seen on Reggie's present from Retro
5. Crash (Crash Bandicoot)

How is his source supposed to know all that? There’s no way they even know the list.

Besides he even said a Nintendo sword user is dlc

Big name for the E3 presentation (Banjo for example) and then maybe a more vanilla one (Bandanna/Dixie) for the Smash Bros tournament?

Come to think of it, why have they never revealed a character at an E3 tournament before? They could show Gex and you’d still have a theatre crowd go nuts live on the internet.

I'll never understand why they revealed Pac-Man the way they did, when they could have revealed him at the tournament.

I think we will get two characters as well, because that has always been the case for E3.

I highly doubt we get a 1st Party DLC in this first pass. There's a chance we see a Pokemon from the new game or some other kind of promo character, but I feel like Cloud and Ryu probably sold so much more than the other DLC characters that they realised that's where they wanted to go this time.

In terms of E3 releases, Banjo, Crash and RE make sense as big reveals here. If Banjo and Crash don't turn up at E3 I'm on the wagon of neither one being included in this pass.

It's not a matter of making "big reveals in big events for the sake of them being big", but whoever's completed next in the development queue, so timing is what they go for. I mean, why else would we see Palutena and the Mii Fighters shown off in E3? Not to mention that Sonic was just casually shown off in Brawl's website updates.

Pac-Man was literally revealed the same day as Palutena and the Mii’s. Sakurai and/or the marketing team chose to reveal him at a behind closed doors press showcase rather than the big E3 invitational tournament that was being live-streamed to world (both events were on the same day if I remember correctly). Weird choice.

Mii Fighters and Palutena were shown off together because E3 was where they had the big blowout regarding information about character customization.

Also, I don't think Sonic's reveal for Brawl was a good example because that was a very different time for Smash. Outside of the initial five (Meta Knight, Pit, ZSS, Wario, Snake), none of the newcomers were revealed through major events like E3 or Nintendo Directs (which didn't even exist back then), they were all just thrown on the website.
