As far as I know that update only changes the save file and has no effect on the game's code.

Nope, if there is a modifiable variable that let's you prevent tripping (which is the case), then it is intentional. It might make it less competitive, but that doesn't mean it's not unplayable.

In Skyward Sword's case, it is a game-breaking glitch that prevents you from finishing the game.

There is quite a difference.

And yeah, Eggz has a really good fox. He also has some pretty good Peach experience (mostly from brdy and bladewise), be prepared (he also uses MK in Brawl, hence the confusion)

Truthfully, I don't mind whatever happens vs Eggz. It's guaranteed 0-2. Inui would be one to worry about. All I know is he plays Sheik and KID Goggles thinks he'll be winning easily
