- Ally being East Coast is bull****. You all know it in your hearts that it's true. Never really met Ally and he's probably awesome as hell, but the dude is NOT East Coast and not by a long run.
- The fact that some people are like, "Well, we can't have Ally AND M2K," just confirms how silly and tangible this **** is. Crew battles have nothing to do with "making sure our team is balanced"; it's about players representing their region and that's it. M2K is East Coast mainly NY/NJ and Ally is ****ing Canada and anyone says otherwise is a complete douchebag.
- This ****ing drama is ********. We got Inui complaining because no one wants to accept him in NY/NJ, and we have Tantalus complaining for the same reasons in MD/VA. You guys need to realize that whether you have the credentials to be a captain or not if the crew doesn't trust or want you to be captain you're SOL. This means YOU Inui and Tantalus. Take a step back and stfu. And Max, I love you boy, but you're not running ****. The only person I would ever step down to in terms of leadership is Plank as a TO and Wife as a Crew Captain. No one else has earned the auto-respect slot.

if i come to ny/nj for a few months and enter your tournies every weekend and then a md/va vs. ny/nj crew battles comes up, i am still considered md/va because this is the region that i am originally from and have represented for the majority of my smash career. the same applies to Ally, or do you disagree with that logic?

Omni: Ally's spoken of how barely any tournies happen in Canada, and how he likes the EC scene more than the Canada scene. Your situation is different since both regions have an active tourney scene.

Inui...I haven't seen a single post supporting you for any position of authority/power...in this entire thread. Meanwhile there are at least a few people who support splitting MD/VA from NJ/NY, and ironically one of the reasons is the drama you are causing.

A = Ally's place of residence during the weekdays.
He has competed in basically nothing but East Coast tournaments for the past three and a half months. He's a part of the NJ/NY scene, basically.
While I'm not sure if I agree on him being East Coast, it sure as hell isn't THAT clear. If it were, there wouldn't be so much debate over it.
Jason has spent every day in the past 4-5 months in the state of Ohio excluding out of state tournaments and as of the end of this week, Christmas break. After break, he will be returning to Ohio until the next break. All of his Smash activity, minus a few tournaments, has been in the Midwest.Omni said:

AZ is giving his opinion on the situation. He can say what he likes. You disregarding him because of where he's from provides more evidence that you really just care about winning and nothing else.

Not to mention at this very moment I am in Maryland and will be here until the 30th and my parents home is less than an hour and a half away from the location of Pound 4, and finally I'm in Maryland at least 4 months of the year.
Also, the post I made regarding M2K was my personal opinion alone (though I may have misused the word "we" but I'm to lazy to scroll back). Unlike Inui I do not assume I have control over the Pound 4 MW crew. I have lent my backing to Lain and the decisions he makes because I see it better to have an agreed on captain, then trying to take control for myself. If M2K wants to be on the MW crew he is more then welcome and it is ultimately Lains decision.
I think there is a strong case for Ally to play for the EC based on past-precedent.
-Ally played for the MW at Genesis because he had spent the better part of April-July in MI.
-ChuDat played for the WC back at FC6 cause he had spent the better part of the time leading up to that going to Ken's place/Cali and such.
Now, ultimately, it should be Planks decision as TO on the rules for the crew battle:
He can specify exceptions like Ally. Or how it works for people who go to school out of state (like me). Etc. Then just respect Planks final decision.

I'm not lecturing AZ. I just think that it's best for AN players to handle AN's crew business. I get annoyed with Chibo when he constantly interjects in NJ's business when he's PA. This is no different.
Inui, the fact is the EC needs a captain that the region respects, supports, and will listen to. It should be obvious from all the banter that regardless of credentials this person is not you. At the end of the day it will come down to physical decisions made IN PERSON. If you don't have the backing of the crew, which you don't, then you cannot effectively be a captain.
Someone needs to step up or you guys are gonna under perform. It shouldn't be that difficult to get someone with majority backing.
Leadership isn't about who can yell the loudest or proclaim their accomplishments to anyone who will listen. It is about mutual respect and admiration. It is about trust. If people do not trust your decisions you cannot lead effectively, regardless of how much knowledge you have.
