Wasn't Sans' case that Toby Fox had a great time with Sakurai and got to add him because he beat Sakurai in Smash?
He isn't the main character of his game and i'm surprised nobody thought about other Undertale characters ever making other cameos, which makes me wonder if it's Sans memes affecting the game's popularity or something.
Undertale's representation feels weird because it really feels like it has more to do with Sans memes, so i wonder how some fans even feel about this.
It just feels specific in some way because of said memes and i wonder if anyone complained about Frisk or Toriel not being there.
Then again, Doom is kind of affected by fan memes as well, with the jokes about his power level and the "rip and tear" phrase from the comic.
In other news, i'm surprised nobody posted the pre order trailers that stated the Cyberdemon/Tyrant is confirmed to be an enemy type, because honestly, if something makes an evil faction in videogames even better is when bosses become enemy types.
The ice grenade is cool because it reminds me of Duke Nukem 3D's freeze ray and Hexen's frost shards, so Doom gameplay mods have an excuse to use that one ice shatter effect (I also say this becaue Doom Eternal could work as a tribute to FPS).
The reactions from Japanese gamers about Doom are funny with the best one being the Pacific Rim one because Hugo Martin worked on that movie, some even say a design from Pacific Rim inspired the 2016 Cyberdemon (Along with the implication that OverWatch would either get in Smash or even have a lasting pop culture spot).
Probably late on that Nobody Told Me About Id remix but that's another cool thing about Doom fans, where some stuff feels like solutions for questions or suggestions (And James Paddock is a well known Doom related content creator, he even has his works used in Sigil and he's most famous for The Adventures of Square).
I guess i missed the Harada part too but i got nothing to say that probably hasn't already been said.
Someone posted a tweet about Kid Icarus' underworld and it being compared to Hell in Doom, even though (At least to me) the definitive Doom Hell is the classic one because it's pretty much meant to be multiple things at once, so use that as a base then add props from later games like D64 gargoyle statues and all.
In fact, reboot Doom's lore is weird because (Besides the franchise never being about lore) they want you to see Doomguy as having an extremely high power level, then Hell is somehow more "scientific"/less abstract, that UAC was capable of studying most of these creatures and even creating enemy types.
Old Hell in previous games just made them on their own (Some stated to be using stolen UAC tech) and looked like a nightmarish realm and not just a weird wasteland.
