Just know that if you mash everything, you'll probably get a jump break.

Mike, does air release to fair work on DDD/Snake? I remember Junk saying you two practiced it some, but never got a conclusive answer as to whether it is legitimate or not (assuming they do input a jump release ofc.)

1. Fair works on Dedede, but technically Snake can air dodge/jump to avoid it.

2. Not sure about no lag, but it's very minimal

3. Yes all characters. Marth happens to be able to do it quite easily compared to most.

forward airing their shield in such a way/distance that they would think it was a shield grab opportunity, but, IT WASN'T!

SO THEY GO FOR A SHIELD GRAB AND MISS!
Spacing trap!

not sure about this, can some one confirm it for me, but i think if marth has ds lag from the ledge and tries to platform cancel, he gets some lag on the platform cancel, no?

I usually platform cancel with down c-stick, maybe that has something to do with it, if it's true?

can someone please link me to hitbox visuals youtube clip?

also, how many frames it it to put up a shield? is it the same for every char?

why is platform camping on SV a good option against snake?

why would snake want to air release out of marths grab instead of ground release?

frame 2

because he can't hit you unless you're dumb and let yourself get blown up by nades

he wouldn't but people mash buttons/spin the analog which means they may hit a jump command.

You sure? That's what I always thought but I have been told a lot recently that it's frame 2...

frame 1 or 2? lol someone clear this up please.

also: looking at marths f-tilt, why is it hit 7-11 instead of just 1 number?

Forward Tilt
Hit: 7-11
End: 39
IASA: 35
Shield Stun: 10
~Shield Hit Lag: 4
ADVANTAGE: -22
Tipper Shield Stun: 12
~Shield Hit Lag: 11
ADVANTAGE: -27

Because those are all of the frames that the hitbox is out on. Starts on 7, and the last from of the hitbox is 11.

I also have read contradictory information about the shield frame data, so I looked around the other boards. Most character's frame data threads (the ones that have them at least) say shield comes up on frame 1. But in both the ZSS and PT guides it is mentioned that shield comes up on frame 2 (interesting because ZSS and Squirtle both have frame 1 jabs). The PT guide also mentioned that Squirtle's ground release to jab was pretty much guaranteed because of this. The PT guide actually contradicted its own frame data thread... Maybe someone should retest it, but since the majority of the boards say 1 frame, I'd go with 1.

tldr; Shield = frame 1.

Yeah grab release to jab is guaranteed because every character in the game who ground grab releases another has a 1 frame advantage on them.

(i.e. the player who grabs is free to move from frame 29, the person who got released is free frame 30).

Quick question. As Marth, how do you handle/punish Snake's dash attack and his F-Tilt? Whenever I go for the D Blade, I get whacked by the F-Tilt.

Albert didn't know that squirtle's jab has a super SDI rate (like pikachu's dsmash) and hence like one maybe TWO tap(s) forward would place him behind squirtle for some quick LOVE LOVE.

Also the jabs would only really combo if they trippp~

Omega zero, if you know he's going to ftilt every time, just outspace him or block and then punish it. Don't just run in after. Hell, if you KNOW he's gonna do it, throw in a counter to make him think twice.

another thing is that desynchs take time to set up for most IC players.

If they've started the wall, doing your best to get behind them (SDIng blizzard even!) through any means possible means the desynch has to be reconfigured.

Don't forget about Wario :p

And wow, you sure have a lot of questions earla.
-Not sure about the exact % for spiking MK, but I'm guessing around the 30s.
-Why is your Dair stale? Shouldn't be that much more anyway...
- See above.
-Grab release Dair on MK is pretty strict. There's also the f/dthrow combos on Fox/Falco and such. Grab release tipper Fsmash on Wario also needs practice. Here's a thread that might interest you: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=234060
- Off the top of my head :
Wario (Fsmash, Usmash, Nair, Utilt, Dair)
Squirtle (Fsmash, Usmash, Fair, Dair)
MK (Dash attack, Fair, Dair, DS)
Ness/Lucas ground release (regrab, fsmash, dsmash) Apparently they can DI it though. But it's probably banned anyway.
- Don't know much about frame data. Tech rolls are different for each character.

Answered to the best of my abilities. If anyone sees anything wrong, please correct me.
