Just so you all know, 192 is the new cap because mathematically that's the next logical number of entrants for a full bracket. It is not an arbitrary number. If there were another cap increase it'd go to 256, then I think 384, etc.

Yeah, I kinda disliked using EVO style bracket pools and yeah the Ruoka issue should be been resolved (the later not being Alex's fault at all) but honestly, the only tournaments that have ever been bigger than this have been in Japan outside of that one online event.

I had to fly also because of work and now I cant pick them up. And now the age restrictions at the airport rental places prevent me from getting a car big enough for all of us.

We could go wherever after that, but I'd rather go to my house to sleep that night because there are beds. And a smashfest.

Strife just told me on FB that 64 will not be apex again in the future.

Was badgering apex staff about RR pools really worth it?

That's a bummer, I was planning on going next year. hopefully 64 can redeem itself at the tournament

As long as there is demand for 64, they're going to include it at Apex. With a $35 venue fee, they'll be missing out on couple thousand dollars if they don't have 64. That's not as big as not having Melee, but it's still free money. Apex staff isn't going to stop having 64 tournies because of what they see as "a few bad apples complaining about bracket pools."

What's to stop them from replacing 64 with something like KI or SFxT in the future? You gotta be kidding me if you think they are missing out on money by excluding us. They'll just replace us with a more lucrative game.

i would like to apologize on behalf of our community. some things have been said that should not have been said but i really hope we don't miss out on 64 in the years to come because of the words of a loud minority. the majority of the community is very appreciative for all you do for our community, those people just haven't been as vocal about it.

While I do not agree with making a massive decision like this that will negatively affect hundreds of people because of the actions of a few less than 10 people, I won't blame you after the reactions you've gotten. Even if this is the last time 64 is at apex (and therefore probably the last 64 event I go to), I'm sure I will enjoy the entire thing and I'll thank you for hosting the largest tournament in this country for a game that most people don't even know was still played.
