Just fyi to everyone who wasn't there, Alex Strife told me Apex 2015 would feature 64 and then the next day after Top 8 he announced to the whole venue that 64 would be back for Apex 2015, so yea, no worries as of yet. He was just really stressed planning everything and the aggression made him pretty upset after a while.

On commentary, when I was commentating jimmyjoe vs dexter and jimmyjoe was down 4 stocks to one I said "Let's see if jimmyjoe can pull something out of his" and then I realized I was on stream and just kind of cleared my throat lol. Didn't want to get 64 in trouble and honestly not sure the limits of what's okay. They said keep it PG-13, but then again, every PG-13 movie is allowed 1 F-bomb and I kinda doubt that goes for the stream.

And greg, it wasn't just utilt, it was a pivot utilt Much higher degree of difficulty!

To all the teams we faced, that was a lot of fun, almost more with a 64 controller for the later games.

Ceasar: Was a lot of fun to team with you. Will do so again if I go to a 64 event.

Banze/Kefit: Your teamwork is amazing Banze. Surprised I stayed so even in Pikachu dittos. I usually don't have fun vs pika **** teams but this was a lot of fun.

Killer/SK: Fun games, 2nd match yoshi dittos was fun as well.

Yunque: You improved a lot since the last tournament.

This ~40 minute set was honestly my favorite one:

I've watched and rewatched and rewatched it and Moyashi is def my favorite smasher right now -- he was my fav kirby. Moyashi's stoic behavior on the player cam is hypnotizing. His playstyle to me seemed less rushed than Kikoushi's as well (Kikoushi is red, after all). If you watch him DI'ing, it looks like he knows exactly what he's doing lol -- Isai, Boom, and Mariguas usually do the Mario Kart DI. This video is his, if you hand't noticed before.

Commentary was very pristine on this set, I thought. Nice job. Both of them seemed genuinely interested in what was going on, which isn't to be taken for granted with 8 min matches. Legit enthusiasm helps a lot.

I was playing like garbage the night of the tournament, hence my earlier post discussing how I'm the worst player in the history of the world. Looks like I was overreacting a bit. I haven't lost my edge or fallen behind in skill or anything, it just took me forever to get my mojo back and remember how to actually play this game again. By Saturday night I was rocking with the best of them and having a blast, and all was good. I basically played SSB for 16 hours straight, followed by seven hours of sleep, followed by 13 more hours of SSB. It became the best SSB of my life, both in terms of my own performance and the level of my competition. Why can't this be every weekend?

Shout outs:
Isai - Untouchable. What else is there to say? Was sad you couldn't show up on Sunday.
Moyashi - A bunch of us could get you to one stock but no one could ever seal the deal. God damn. Also a super friendly guy who was enthusiastic to attempt conversation in English. I hope he comes back.
Boom - STANDARD. Also what the hell is wrong with JP Link's utilt hahaha.
Ruoka - I love playing against your DK, but games against your Falcon allowed us both to showcase our ultimate GOOD COMBO. Also gotta hand it to you for SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Mariguas - Super friendly dude. I wish I could have played his Falcon and Pika more, but he seemed bound and determined to give me as many chances as possible to beat up his Kirby. Still fun games though, just kind of slower than the alternatives.
Tacos - Such a good Yoshi. Where'd you even come from out of the blue like this? I was kind of surprised I could hang with your competitively, at least until your NO tactic crushed my dreams.
Jaime - BEST. Also one of the best players to play against. Sorry I bored you with my crappy predictable play on Friday, I hope I made it up to you with good games by the end haha. Seriously though how can you play SSB while laying flat on the floor like that? I could barely see the TV.
Dext3r - The top 8 was stolen from you by crappy bracket making and seeding. I think if there's one player I wish I could have played more at Apex it's you, we didn't get nearly enough matches in. I hope you enjoyed your trip up to NYC and I hope you're able to make it for another tournament.
Banze - Trading Pika dittos with you was once again one of the highlights of my Apex experience. It looks like I left with the HAT OF SHAME this year, but I promise you're getting it back next time! Also I think you've gotten a lot better since 2013 and really forced me to kick up my game this time around, which is awesome. Excellent handling of crews too, I wish I could have stayed for all of it. Hoping you forgive me for my lackluster teams play >_>

I think I played the above players far more than anyone else. What can I say, people who speak Spanish (or Portuguese, close enough) or Japanese or who are Boom are simply the most fun to play at Smash. There's probably some eldritch science behind this but I'm not qualified to investigate it.

Merihim - I played you a bunch on Thursday night but I get the feeling you weren't really warmed up then or weren't that comfortable with the Pika matchup. I wonder how you would have done if you weren't stuck in a bracket with Isai, Tacos, and Dext3r.
Sensei - Dude you were beyond hilarious once you got drunk and I laughed my ass off when we revived our Apex 2012 match during crews. I know from personal experience that you can't escape SSB64 no matter how hard you try, so I hope to see you next time!
Jel - Glad you could make it with me this year and it sounds like you had a lot of fun in friendlies. We both so rarely get to play such a wide variety of players ;_;
Han Solo - I don't know if I ever played you outside doubles, but at one point I looked back from the Moyashi TV and saw you about to three stock Ruoka and was like "holy ****." You've got a pretty tricky Fox.
Ceasar - Again I don't know if I ever played you outside doubles, but you've got a good Mario. Was kind of surprised cause I had never heard of you. Keep it up.
Clubba - Damn dude you've gotten a lot better. I never thought I'd see the day when you challenged my Pika. Keep it up!
Wizzrobe - You're a very good, very patient, very competitive player with a great mental game. You're going to be really scary once you become more comfortable with a wider variety of matchups and improve your technical and combo game. Congrats on the top 8 berth!
Sheermadness - Sorry to bore you with bad gameplay and a pissy attitude on Friday. Wish I could have played you more once I got my mojo back. You're getting really good, and I think would have had a real shot at top 8 if you were in pool 3 or 4.
Star King and Killer - I never got to play you keyboard warriors on keyboard in 1v1 matches. One of my great regrets of Apex. Killer is a riot, and I definitely saw some of that killer DI during our doubles match.
Stranded - You're a funny kid and your Falcon is fast as lightning. Loved JV2ing you in the yolo, your salty tears were delicious. Seriously though, you're pretty good and your going to be one of those scary Falcon players if you keep it up.
Fireblaster - Have we ever played on console before this year? I've known your name for years, but it was great to finally get a chance to play you. You're really friendly in real life, nothing like what I would have expected haha.
