The first post of the BAM6 thread has the brawl ruleset. Not too sure which ruleset we were meant to even be using for melee but here is a page with all suggested rulesets which should be similar to what we use except for us using 1 stock for brawl.

Yeah, that page is generally correct, except Brawl which will definitely be 1 stock here now.

I'm in Lakes Entrance. Do you also play Brawl? Though I am not fussed on the game decision. Have you ever thought about hosting a mini tournament or attending one in Gippsland?

No I do not play Brawl. Although I'm okish at it if push comes to shove.

Yeah AI learns from what you do which is why he was able to switch to Fox so flawlessly after years of getting abused by them while playing Jigglypuff.
And he only ever came up against a couple of trash Puff's like mine, which relies more on Fsmash and Dash Attack than Bair, thus PCG's Puff became worse over time.

Hey guys,

Im a 25 year old guy in melb who wants to get into smash.

Smash 64 was my childhood but never got a GC for melee and beyond.

Got brawl when it first came out but lost interest quickly as i had no one to play with and was stuck using the wiimote to play.

Been watching/following smash for the last 6 months and figured id just wait for smash 4 and get into it then but Melee and P:M tournys/streams are getting me too hyped to wait, i wanna get in and play now!

my biggest hurdle is wanting to play melee the most but i dont own a GC. Dont even have a CRT anymore. Other than ebay, Any ideas where i could get a GC + melee?
Is gettting P:M to work with my PAL wii as much a pain as it seems (dont have sd card or card reader and compatible usb)

Any meetups planned in the near future to checkout? Seems i just missed a good one (BAM6)

Any advice to help get me started would be great.

Crts are often thrown out so if you can find hard rubbish you'll probably find one.

The easiest thing to do is probably soft mod your Wii but I don't know if that still requires an sd card.

You can get controllers off the internet like playasia or similar

Getting a crt is the easiest on my list. I know i need to soft mod for PM, does the softmod also run a melee iso? I dont mind purchasing gamecube + melee. Just finding one to buy nearby is hard (no car)

Not that you can discuss cool roms here. or that anyone would dream of using their wii to illegally play melee.
