well my problem isn't also just with dealing with MK's nado but also his priority over almost all our moves and the fact that his small size makes spacing SHFairs or SHUairs difficult. Most of the damage i was able to deal was simple through punishing nado approaches on shield and shuttle loop to glide attacks and Dsmashes.

yea, thats pretty much what it is.

instead of SH aerials, you have to do a lot of spindash and ASC mix ups to get him to do something punishable. And dash attack. it does pretty much no damage but getting that dash attack in there is pretty much the only thing you can do sometimes.

just dont do it at the ledge. makes it stupid easy to punish.

yea i was getting some easy punishes with Dash attack when i played hinkages MK on BF game 3 and i just camped the top ledges and ASC'd into nado then footstooled him and would run behind him and do turn around Spin charges. Just on YI vs bloodcross it was more difficult to do so considering that stage doesn't really give us too much of an advantage in terms of moving around the stage as MK can just camp in the center of the stage with nado. :s

Thank god sonic has some stupid gimmick that everyone is afraid of on that stage.

I hate that stage and I dont win often on it. so its good that nobody picks it on me.

You have no idea how happy I get when people ban YI:B against me simply because I'm Sonic.
Especially Meta Knights.:applejack:

I honestly thing SV is our best stage over YI:B mainly because sv we can abuse platform canceling to a greater extent that a simple iSDR. i mean we can platform cancel on YI as well but only when the platform is turning and half the time your not really paying attention to it. Oh and spin charge platform cancel to run off ledge bair works wonders on a gliding MK :p.

for the record, we all know this, but we need to keep telling people that that stage is awesome for us, to keep up the facade.

I still think we're awesome on YIB.

Haters.

Although I definitely should go on FD more often. I find that abusing the runaway game is the best way to get people to screw up so I can hit them.

People do ban FD against me, but I think it's one of those situations where they're like a full wavelength behind the meta or something

No one is saying we're bad on YI:B. In fact, we're pretty damn good on that stage.
But there's plenty of stages I'd prefer to take many other characters, and them banning YI:B is basically just giving me a free counterpick. :applejack:

I had some hot, dirty pictochat games 2 weekends ago, no0b kept biting me with Wario, and I have NEVER spammed iSDR before, not in friendlies or tourny.

He didn't even know about it, and wondered "how are you spinning through my bite? I thought it outranges all of sonic's moveset?" :awesome:

Well, he isn't a no0b, but his MU knowledge generally needs work, and im his first compotent :sonic: so... if I do 1 new thing, its mindblowing and cheap :p

YES! lol. Personally I hate going to Yoshi's.

And my favorite stage to go to now is PS2!!! Fricken love that stage, but Pictochat was more fun.

Ugh... i cant stand PS2, I always loved PS1 since Melee though. I just can't get into the fact that PS2 actually alters the control of your character. Occasionally it can allow other tricks that aren't possible but that's situational and % based. Give me regular control, plz

Earth stage is terribad on PS2, and promotes camping worse (but I cannot lie, Fire transformation on PS1 is terrible...)

Also, never did I say "oh no, its different, so it's bad", lol. I said I'm not a fan of the control alterations that come with it. Ice= slides, more tripping. Earth= worse camping, imo. Air= change to manuvering and air combat (which I occasionally like, but I find it situational. Can't combo the same way, and it can get you rocked too). Conveyors (love/hate. I like the added flexibility and creative factor they make. I hate them when I want to do things that consistently work, and it just cant due to the stage mechanics.

Edit: I do like fire stage at high %s, tech the hell out of that tree. Saves lives....

It promotes camping worse?

PS1 fire and earth do the exact same thing. Hell, you can even argue that the windmill promotes camping.

I won't even try to deny that, although I dont think the windmill promotes camping. I'm guessing you that like PS2 actually like the stage mechanics? Is that your basis for liking the stage?

Ps2 Earth is only about as bad as any Delfino transformation. Its never as bad as Ps1. you can definitely approach with most characters if you want to.

I can see why people don't like it though, I feel like the effects on Ps2 and the addition of water were really underused across the game.

I wonder if like 2/3 of the stages had ice or gravity effects if people would suddenly be okay with them

Ice is nice because it does funny things when you hit shields and you can do sliding smashes and DACUSes go forever. Conveyor belts are basically an easier ledge cancel when used properly. They CAN encourage center camping, but I don't think people have thought about how to beat that tactic much (partially since the stage isn't legal half the time anyway). The absolute worst thing air does is let you camp it out. And I don't really find ground that campy TBH, unless you're like me and iSDR there.

Only problem with ice is it doubles the impact of a universal stupid game mechanic (random tripping).

Which is stupid (I mean, it makes sense that it's easier to fall down on ice, but it's un-fun and uncompetitive), but can be avoided by not running. Or technically by playing Climbers but they get two trip chances anyway soooooooo

Lol, noted. I thought it was super easy. Go below, DI and tech everything. 190 (sandbagging) to my 30 some odd percent. Then the shenanigans began...
