The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the third installment in the Zelda series, for the SNES. Ultimately, the goal of the game was to collect the three pendants; those of Power, Wisdom, and Courage (with an obvious connection to the Triforce), and then once in the Dark World to save all 7 maidens and defeat Ganon.
The game invented many revolutions in the Zelda series that continued to be used in subsequent games, such as the Hookshot, the Master Sword, the Pegasus Boots, and the Ocarina (although was merely called "Flute" in-game). It was also the first game with the Spin Attack, and the idea of two parallel worlds.
The game was also remade for the Game Boy Advance with a multiplayer-only game, Four Swords (though I feel that Four Swords should have its own thread, so I won't cover it here). The most noticeable difference between the games right off the bat is that the sounds were updated; for example, Link's voice is now audible. Other changes include each bottle having its own inventory slot, a new dungeon (only available once the main stories of ALttP as well as Four Swords have been beaten), a "Riddle Quest", as well as many, many more.
Feel free to discuss everything from record runs you've had through the game to your general opinion about the game.
