Ok, let me say something about the splitting.

I HATE splitting the title of First Place/Second Place.

I LIKE splitting the $$$$$.

We should have played out the second set to see who got what place.... but we didn't.

So all I can say is I'm sorry to people who wanted to see a clear 1st and 2nd, but you can just say whoever you like more between me and Danny got 1st, and the other one got second.

And that solves that problem.






One more thing I should add is that, for anyone who wanted to see the GRAND FINALS that didn't get to, they would have made you puke. Instead of spamming tornado to rack up damage, I was spamming it away from him to protect myself from arrows. When I got in close, I would be afraid to do B attacks because of the Mirror Shield so I would just flop around and Grab>Jab>Down Throw> Chase with Nair.

First Match was a neutral stage, and Danny 2 stocked me.

Second Match was Rainbow Cruise, Danny switched to Meta Knight and I won.

Third Match was Smashville(I think), slow match, I barely won.

Fourth Match was Frigate Orpheon, something weird happened here. I still don't fully understand:

Danny was arrowing from the ledge over and over, and I started collecting him from the ledge with tornado and bringing him back on the stage. He would retreat to the ledge and I would just gather him up and bring him back with the tornado. I'm not sure, but I think we both ACTUALLY went crazy and stopped playing smart, because of all the nervous tension and the lack of sleep, and all the other things. I started back-to-back tornados like I would do on a DeDeDe, and then all of a sudden the match was over and I won, and we were sort of looking at each other, and then we split the pot.

If anyone understood how tired we were, how ****ty we felt, how mindnumbing the situation was, they probably would also understand why we split and left without playing the second set.



My prediction(FLAME SHIELD ON): If we were to play the whole Grand Finals round again between me and Danny on another day when we were fresh, he would probably beat me.

When he's on his game, my Meta Knight sucks vs him.

But that night if we had played the second set, I think the odds were a total coinflip.

my turn:
This was............an interesting experience, with mixed emotions as usual. I wanted to show Fl my kirby, and what i can do with her. I was relatively happy with my performance. In teams, i got 4th place with hungrybox. WE STILL GOT IT!!!! i was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED at the fact that my two chance at top 3 in teams and money were taking away from me, because of one of the most depressing team antics i had ever seen. In both instances, all i could think in my head was " is this serious? are they actually doing that? is my shot at money and top 3 bragging right being lost to this?". i'm not going to lie, i was pretty ****ing p1ssed. I couldnt believe how something so seemingly simple could be so effective. And ok, maybe, you can do all these different things to beat MK's gayness, but in a teams match, when you have to concentrate on 4 different characters, its not fun. It was actually pretty gay. i was in awe at what was happening.i just didnt fully believe that these high level, upper bracket matches, were coming down to this. it was a joke. if this continues, im not sure how much i'll enjoy that, and im scared that the only way to overcome, might be to join the meta, which i dont want to do. In singles it was pretty cool and i had a good start. i 2-0'ed most of my pool. i got 2-0'ed by afro thunder, and i 1-1'ed with vericz. but then brackets came. I had a bye 1st round, then i had the gayest match verses loto. a gay kirby ditto, so lame. then i had to play rx, and was surprised i even remotely kept up, despite him not spamming tornado that much (instead using his up+b more), but he beat me fair and square, and i had to take my 1st real MK lost. (which left an extremely sour taste in my mouth.) next i lost to fenrir's ike. fenrir is really good, and mindgamey, but i just dont get it. i have no idea how im possibly losing to ike. he is so fvcking slow. i need to play someone bit faster and who wont die as fast i guess. i never want to lose to an ike again. but at the same time, i feel kind of good. I work 45 hours a week in a management position. then i egt about 3-5 hours of sleep just to go straight to school, i have like a 3 hour break, then i have to go to work for another 10-12 hours. It really doesnt give me much time to practice. also, ive said this from the beginning, i beleieve that kirby does have a tad bit too much bad matchups. But i stuck with her through the whole thing and overcame some of those bad matchups. Also, i never really got *****. i could pretty much bring anyone to their last stock with kirby. If i had actual time to practice, and i played a more broken/ higher tier character as a secondary, i feel i could have really risen up the ranks. oh wells, maybe next time.

Yeah, it's a triple-whammy actually. Firstly it's very dark inside so your pupils open as wide as possible, then the blacklights are probably not good for you, then also if you look closely you'll notice people's eyes are glowing so that also makes it harder to see. Then theres how blacklights mess with TV's by messing with the phosphors... there's a reason people with UV blocking glasses like me can spend hours in there without a problem.

maybe so, but she still has tough match ups. she has a tough time against swordsmen, and characters with super high priority attacks like lucas and pika. also super strong characters, cuz kirby is, well, kirbys a balloon. she's dies to quick against people like snake and ike. oh wells, i still need more character matchup training.

Kirby's not that great, sure he's hard for me to kill cause yoshi can't kill puffers (that includes MK) for beans. He has plenty of weaknesses, one he dies below 100 percent often, well that's about it. But I've been working on a killer secondary character and will take the tournament by storm, I want to play those 2 top guys too again.

Oh and loto if you could upload as many doubles vids as you can I'd appreciate it. and if I appreciate it then my goodness you just basically saved the day.

Kirby is in no way bad. Kirby in no way has "alot of bad matchups"
There are only a few that even MIGHT come to mind right now, and i wouldn't even say they counter, at the most they have slight advantages.
The only two I've found so far that give kirby some trouble are Ike, and Wario.

Ike only because he kills super early. All the kirby has to do is play super careful, and its pretty much even again. And Hiro, you lost to fenrir? And your blaming it on matchup?
I played fenrir my second round and won.
And if you wanna talk about bad matchups, how come you didn't reck my ike on rainbow cruise in the MM? That has to be one of the superest counterpicks ever.
My ike isn't even THAT great, hes my third. Now considering to be my secondary.

if you want me to go into detail as to why i think wario is tough for kirby, i will. but im late for class right now. But there is reasoning to it, dont worry.

And you really don't need a higher tier secondary at all. I have all these secondaries and thirds, but to be honest their not for competitive play really.
There are almost only two reasons i EVER play anyone but kirby.

One is for just fun.
Two, and this is the reason i ever even picked up ike truthfully, is to learn the character better. The fastest way to learn how to play against a character is to play that character seriously. you figure out wat his flaws are pretty fast, so when you play against them, you can abuse those.

Technically i secondary Olimar, and I didn't even touch him the entire tourny ever, not even friendlies (asside from the one I took over chaz's friendly last stock to see if i could make an amazing comback, which i didn't lol )

As for the other matches your claiming:

Swordsmen: to be 100% honest, i believe kirby may even have an advantage against marth/ super easy edgeguards. Not to mention a smart kirby can OUT SPACE marth. Alot of times i find his foward tilt cutting through most of marth's attacks. And his bair beats EVERYTHING marth has. As well as kirby having some pretty early combos, and can always get a free fowardsmash if they try to fsmash and u sheild.

Toonlink (Swordsmen?): >_> u serious? The only kill move toon link even has on kirby is either dair, or usmash. The fsmash can be DI'd every time so u dont get hit by the second swing, and the dsmash is too weak. MAYBE u'll die from his fair if you DI bad or something. Complaining about camping at this point is a joke. Wanna learn something? If you really can't find a way around camping, take his power, yes its possible, and camp with B's and up-b's. I garuntee you'll out camp him.

Ike: already discussed.

Meta?: Its pretty darn even. Only way you'll see meta killing kirby is with up-b, and if the meta spams it, like most do now a days, thats rare as well. Leaving dsmash and usmash, letting you be in the air more, and kirby, litterally, can live between 150 and 200 every stock. Get owned.
P.S. Stone beats Meta-Up B, EVERY time. Believe it.

Lucas: LOL This dead honest i think is the MOST even matchup in the entire friggen game. I can't find one thing they both have on each other. The only gay thing is kirby's gay edgeguards vs lucas, but if the lucas is smart, it gets hard to pull off. Find me gay things in this matchup, PLEASE.

Pikachu: Really? How so? I'd love to hear this one. What can pika do to you that has you complaining? -sits- (i play against Esam often, really good pika, i havn't seen anything crazy, im waiting.)



P.S.S. I went kirby the entire time, didn't change, and thats how its been every tourny. You lose early, oh well, you tried your best. You dont blaim it on character ****, if you wanna blame wins on character johns, go play marvel vs capcom2, you comquat.
